Will people turn on Carmack?
The thing though is that there are a whole bunch of industry luminaries at Facebook already. Andrei Alexandrescu (one of the world's foremost C++ experts), Simon Marlow (one of the world's foremost functional programming experts). I don't think it's out of the ordinary that Carmack -- one of the world's foremost graphics experts -- joins them.Well, you work for the antichrist and John Carmack is a pretty awesome guy. And now he works for the antichrist too. It's pretty surreal alright.
But man FB is also gonna live or die on this acquisition.
VR going mainstream confirmed. This is good news to me.
So much hate pouring in about this deal. I think it's great because it just means VR is coming in a big way. I can't wait to see what the Oculus team can do now.
