PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

I just wanted to try Remote Play from outside my home, but.. it doesn't work. The Vita just keeps searching for my PS4.

The PS4 is in standby mode, all necessary RP settings are on, the devices are paired, it has a static IP and UPnP is enabled on my router. It worked yesterday at home via a direct connection. Strangely, the PlayStation iOS app doesn't find the PS4 either. I've got no clue.

Might be due to psn maintenance.

I did the same but I DMZ'd my PS4. It went from never finding the PS4 when im away to just infinitely looking for it. My last option is to port-forward certain ports instead of DMZing it to see if it'll work that way. It's so annoying : /

Never mind that admittedly shiny new Digimon game, we need Digimon World 1 and Digimon World 2003 as PSOne Classics.

I don't think I can ever go back to digimon world 1. Agumon evolving into everything but greymon pissed me off every time. I really wish I would have had internet to look up a guide back then.

It's still ongoing? I couldn't access the store earlier today, but just half an hour ago I bought and downloaded Fez.

Now I've also forwarded the ports. Same result.
I also called my sister and asked her to turn the PS4 on, just to make sure it's not related to the standby mode. It isn't.

I haven't finished the game yet and just got to

. While there is a certain quality to the game that keeps you going, all the gameplay mechanics feel subpar. The mining aspect is tiresome and uninteresting without a crafting aspect. It really is just there to block the progression. The combat is really bad and probably the worse aspect of the game. The platforming isn't fun as well and the Metroidvania part isn't integrated in any worthwhile way at all so far.
If you keep up with your equipment upgrades getting around is a lot easier. I appreciate it won't win any awards, but I'm happy with the return for the money I spent and as I said if the trophies were a little less demanding (the no deaths one in particular is quite scary, as the game is pretty tricky at the bottom end of the first mine) I'd gladly go through it again.

Shame it doesn't allow an NG+ to continue with your upgrades.

So after seeing that post a few days ago about someone buying a vita at a pawn shop I went to look for myself because my friend has been wanting one.

I found one for $110 (not as good of deals around here apparently) that came with a 4gb and no games (and no porn). It's a 3G model and the thumb stick covers are missing but the screen is in great shape.

Does anyone know where my friend can find some replacement thumb stick covers?

Shouldn't skip 999 at all if you like dangitronpaul... The puzzles might annoy a lot people but there always the choice using spoiler free walkthrough or watch the story on youtube or something. Yes its worth a try, gave me a reason to use my 3ds again :p.

I'm sorry for you. 999 is much better than both VLR and DR. But I agree that you don't need to play it to enjoy VLR though

Agreed on this.

Thanks guys!

Don't know if it's been mentioned in here but the devs for 1001 Spikes said a few weeks ago that the latest it will be released in April. I guess we can expect it soon.

This happened to me as well. Worked one day, now doesn't work at all. I believe it might be cause I set the ps4 in a dmz but I've got no clue otherwise.

I assume it'll be free at the very least until...tomorrow?

It'll be available until the next free Vita game get released on PS+ which is around the 3rd week of April.

Edit: Wow. Didn't notice it much earlier but Bioshock 1 & 2 are on sale for like 5 bucks each. It's well worth it's price. I might bite. This works well for me since my friend who borrowed my copy still hasn't returned it to me. :/

I ended up liking Luftrausers more.

Something about Steamworld seems off, generic even.
I'll power my way though it, but doubt I'll ever play it again.

Steamworld didn't click for me until I started getting some of the power ups then I found it addictive and played to completion in one sitting

Luftrausers is good but it seems like laser is the only viable weapon and I find it boring

Actually I loved it

It hooked me to the point I started and finished it in the span of a day.

Glad you ended up liking it -- but that's the problem I was pointing out. You played your 5 hours in a day and now you're pretty much done with the game, no?

Going back and doing "under 3:30" or "no death" (and the rest of the 4 stars) isn't really pulling me back in either.

Maybe we can get the option to change user names. I'm all for it.

Yes pls. I made my account when I was 12...it was like 7 years ago. It's horrible, let me change it. Just one more time :(

I think I'll replay it - but yeah, the main problem of the game is the replay value. the 9€ they're now charging may be too much

VLR stands perfectly alone, 999 adds a bit, but not enough to rush out and buy the supported devices in order to play it.

Don't miss VLR out of some misguided advice that you NEED to play 999 before hand.

Actually i think that knowledge about 999 might be detrimental to experience of VLR - if you haven't played 999 your knowledge perfectly matches with what main hero knows. So you have to pierce together a picture of situation only from the information your hero finds in game and it puts your more into his shoes and not some allmighty observer who knows things that weren't shown in game yet.

Exactly. Which is why that discount on Luftrausers made it my "must-buy" of the last two weeks. Especially since it's never been anywhere cheaper and it's a perfect fit for Vita.

That's an interesting take on it.

Though the main character is an idiot compared to me. :p

Played through the PDF 2nd demo and failed every song on normal difficulty. Now I remember why I don't like the PS3 version (even with the addition of an input lag calibration tool).

To be honest, Luftrausers doesn't seem to be worth the price...it seems like an "endless game" (but I might be wrong)

I'm really confused by this. Are you running audio separately from your TV? Audio lag introduced by televisions/HD era receivers is definitely the biggest issue, but it's also easily solved by running analog audio out via the multi-out instead.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but I'm just using my TV's speakers.

:( I really don't like it.. but I want to like it!

Glad to see I am not the only one feeling like that. Game had such high praise from the 3DS community and I really expected more of it.
I don't regret buying it though, the price was ok and I don't care about much replayability.

There's your problem. Nearly every HDTV I've ever seen delays the audio to match the amount it lags in video, which absolutely destroys rhythm games in particular. There's a workaround in DIVA F, but it requires you to adjust the timing correction to a positive value, which is never optimal. But it's an easy thing to fix - just use any old composite or better multi-out cables (the ones that came with the PS1 and PS2 work fine, I can't remember if PS3s also packed one in) to send analog audio directly to a set of computer speakers (some adapter or other probably required, but nothing Monoprice doesn't have). In the XMB, there's an option to always output audio through the multi-out regardless of how you're getting your video.

Once your audio is completely separated from your TV, you have far fewer variables to account for when dealing with lag - and often the video lag matters less to people than the audio lag in the first place.
