The post E3 stories would be incredible.
Again, that was because people were sending death/rape threats to Tara, Adam and others at Rev3. I understand it reads like something that is directed to the whole community, which isn't good, but when you're venting, it's hard to think rationally.

Ah, who knows... but have you ever stayed awake for 24, 30 hours, maybe went through a few liter's of coffee in the process, and then interact in a social situation for another few hours ?, i get very chatty, restless and dehydrated with lack of sleep.
Either way, drugs or not, his e3 coverage last year was top notch.

Damn, looks like it's time to finally start watching Rev3 again. Good news.

I hope he ends up as a real consultant, and not an Orth-type character who makes a living talking about how awful people are and how his big mouth ruined his career.
He has always been a great gaming persona. I loved Sessler Something and Adress the Sess. Rev3 becomes instantly irrelevant without him IMO.
His opinions have always seemed genuine and I usually agree with his views. Even when we disagreed his opinions were solid and well explained and made me think about the other side of the equation.
If he does move to an off camera gig I'll be severely disappointed. I'll miss him in E3 but hopefully he'll be around with a podcast or a YouTube video every now and then.
For those talking about his meltdown last year, well that's something only a truly passionate gamer/reviewer/worker/consumer/insider would do.
And for those saying that Sessler was never truly a gamer because he landed the gig with GameSpot TV before being passionate about it, so what? At what age must someone have started playing videogames to be considered a hardcore gamer? I don't think Martin Tyler started narrating football when he was 3 or Larry King started annoying guests at 4, but you can't dispute the fact that they are hardcore at footballing and arguing, respectively.
I'll miss you Sessler. Please keep up some kind of community interaction.

1. 10/10 and 5/5 doesnt mean the game doesn't have any faults. such a game does not exist.
2. Burn cards are not like cheats. I really dont think you have played the game much if you think so. They only last till you die which can sometimes happen right after you used it thus losing the card. Its risk of using it and it going to waste. And they are a one time use thing. Its nothing like killstreaks and are pretty balanced.

Wait. I just learned Max left Rev3 too? When did that happen? I only catch up occasionally and didn't even notice. I love Max. And now all I have left on the channel is Tara and Anthony.

Also, I'm not saying that a 10/10 or 5/5 game cannot have faults. Sure, they can have them, but the game should at least play without severe graphical problems.

Look how much he was displeased about the constraints the review was put under. This is probably why he also had issue with the PS4. Instead of looking at the hardware directly, he and others, were made to go to New York and view it under pretty lights, free drinks maybe, and fellatio possibly.
As a journalist, he needs to have freedom with his press, but instead, the message he want to give is being controlled.
Also notice his Naked Lunch shirt in the video. Now notice his quote at the bottom of this tumblr.
He was out. That shirt was saying he's gone. But this post came a couple weeks later. So that tells me he put in his two weeks. TOTAL PRO. I believe he even took that time to get all his ducks in a row for Rev 3 to make their life as easy as possible.

Uh, rev3 has their own PS4 Dev kit because he complained so loudly about it.

I agree he was upset about the restrictions of the second son review and thats why I am glad hes gone. It was very obvious to me that he scored that game with his resentment instead of actual gameplay . If it was any other game he would have praised the graphics and instead he dismisses it saying in a sarcastic tone "but it sure looks pretty."
If he wanted to make a stand it should have been on the grounds that most reviewers seem to score games based on what type of special treatment they got from the publisher or platform holders not b/c Sony wanted to prevent some spoilers. He was allowed to score the game properly. Plenty of movie reviewers can give a good review without spoiling the entire plot.
I haven't played inFamous Second Son, so I can't comment if I agree with his review or not, but based on his review style, I don't think graphics matter that much to him. Crysis 3 got the same score, 3/5, because he thought the game design aspect wasn't that good. BioShock Infinite, The Last of Us, GTA V and Titanfall were all praised by him and got 5/5 because of game design/story, not graphics.
He could simply have chosen not to review it for a few days. He still would have gotten his free copy. There were a few sites with actual integrity that chose not to review Titanfall until after the servers went live to the public. But, hey, why talk about that.

I would argue Tetris is a game with no faults. You cannot improve the core experience of that gameplay. You can change it, add new rules, whatever. But OG Tetris is a perfect game.

its really interesting to see the differing opinions on sessler. GAF is usually united when it comes to specific journalism sources, but we either hate or love Sessler, I never see a "meh, sessler is whatevs" post.
I for one really like him. I think he's clear, concise, and I tend to agree with most of opinions. The weird part about it is that he's not really very inflammatory ( a la total biscuit) to prompt such reactions.

What? Geeze. I wish they'd all just team up and go back to Destructoid. My dream would be Max, Adam, Tara, Anthony and Jonathan all together in one place forever and ever just talking about video games and shit. Man, I was already thinking of unsubscribing when Sessler left, but Carboni leaving seals it for me.
Obviously we have no way of knowing what happened, but it's hard to not raise an eyebrow when Carboni says he's leaving after four years and has literally no idea what he's doing in terms of future employment. I can't understand why someone would leave a job without another one lined up unless there was something behind the scenes going on.

He's moving to another city. It could just be that he wanted to change his career a bit and now he's going to focus on that. I know some people who did that. Leaving a safe job to be unemployed for a bit and then getting into something they really wanted to. Sometimes it's worth it.
