What are Playfire Rewards?
Playfire Rewards is a new and exciting way to play your way to cheaper games. Every day we set you brand new gaming challenges to beat that can earn you Green Man Gaming Credit to spend on the store.

How do I participate in the Playfire Rewards BETA?
It's easy; if you don't have a Playfire account, just sign in with your Green Man Gaming account or register. Then just link your Steam account and you're ready to start earning rewards.

How does my Reward balance work?
As soon as we've tracked any rewards you've earned it will appear in your transaction balance on the Rewards page. Once the credit you have earned has been deposited in your Green Man Gaming account and is available to spend, a tick will appear next to the reward.

Will I get rewards if I had already earned the achievement before each reward announcement?
No. The reward system is NOT retroactive. You must earn the achievements within the allotted time.

How long does it take to process my reward?
Every time we update your game activity we also check for qualifying criteria at the same time. Generally speaking this happens every 1-3 hours, however, credit has been recently showing up after many hours or days. This may be fixed in the future.

How long does it take to deposit my credit to Green Man Gaming?
Transferring the credit to GMG can immediately be done with a simple workaround. Purchase the free EVE 14-Day Trial and checkout. Your GMG balance should reflect Playfire's balance after doing so.

Can I participate in the Playfire Rewards BETA if I live outside the United Kingdom?
Yes, absolutely! During the BETA your rewards will be displayed in GBP (£) but these will converted to your local currency, based on a daily exchange rate, when they're deposited into your Green Man Gaming account.

If your gaming activity has tracked correctly then please contact Customer Support providing the following information:
Playfire Username & Email:
GMG Username: & Email:
Steam Custom URL:
What rewards you are missing:
Screenshot of your Rewards page from this link: https://www.playfire.com/a/rewards

Will Playfire track my achievements earned on games played via Steam Family Sharing?
Not at the moment, this isn't to say that we aren't going to add it to the service going forwards but there are lots of logistical issues that need to be addressed.

What are you doing to combat people who exploit Playfire Rewards?
People who exploit Playfire Rewards will be immediately banned from Playfire, their Steam ID blacklisted, reported to Valve and it may also impact your ability to earn credit or gain discounts permanently on your Green Man Gaming account. We encourage all users to report any suspicious activity directly to Customer Support. In short, don't use SAM!

OP you missed out on adding a witty subtitle!
Thanks for making this hopefully more make a note of this and begin experiencing the gems they've collected over the years =)

I'm guessing those FAQs are taken straight from Playfire, because the "process my reward" and "deposit my credit to GMG" FAQs are so woefully wrong it's hilarious. Those are ideal conditions; in reality it can take weeks or more for either of those things to happen. It seems really foolish to set up the expectation that you can go from achieving a reward to seeing it in your GMG account within two days, given that this has practically never happened for the entirety of the beta.

Also, protip: if you're trying to get a set of rewards, DO NOT TRY TO DO THEM AT THE LAST MINUTE or you will very likely not get the rewards. This has happened to me more times than I can count for the reasons listed above. Always do rewards as soon as possible and don't assume Playfire will be able to track your achievements properly before the eligibility period expires.

I love the idea of Playfire Rewards and I've gotten a fair amount of credit back from them already, but people need to be aware of the pitfalls.

You should add something about logging in or logging out and then back in to your GMG account if your credit isn't transferring. It's been the subject of confusion lately.

Honestly trying to figure out how long this will go on for before GMG realizes their mistake and bring down the rewards. Hell I mean look at Goat Sim. Bought it for 8 (down from 9 with credit I had) and you pretty much make about 9 back with the cheevos.

I'm sure they have deals set up with GMG and other companies to where they aren't really losing anything.

Like i said in the Steam thread. Everyone thought Steam was out of their fucking mind when they started having insane sales and a lot of people still think they are out of their mind for having multiple every year. If you look most of the rewards aren't worth much. Occasionally they will have a game like Goat Simulator where you can get all the achievements in 2-3 hours but most you actually have to dedicated a lot of time to get 25 cents or 50 cents and most people won't bother.

Are you really going to spend 5 hours to unlock 6 achievements for $2-3?

Yeah look comparing The Hobbit to Goat sim, it's pretty clear the value you get back is skewed as hell. Still just find it weird. Oh well making bank (well kind of) until something changes

For me it works one month then it stops, then it starts to work again. Now i am waiting since 17th March for them to transfer credit to account.

I have ~$10 deposited right now after playing a bunch of Goat Simulator. I'll probably start up Fez and postpone my Witcher run so that I can have more skrilla for Wolfenstein in May.

Great stuff so far. GMG is really stepping it up for me.

I'm still waiting for some achievements to register and for the 10 euro I have right now to transfer over to my gmg account. Been 6 days now. :(

I have to think that long term after the bugs are ironed out, credit will only be available for games that people purchase at GMG. Otherwise they are just giving away way too much money for essentially nothing. I'm certainly enjoying it currently though, even if it's very spotty and random in how well it works.

The've offered rewards for games NOT on GMG though.

Confession time: I got Moebius by spending majority of my GMG playfire credits, practically getting the game for free, and it won't be the first or only one I'ma do this with!

I just finished getting all the achievements in FEZ. I think I paid less for the bundle it was in than I'll make from Playfire rewards.

Are the Pressure reawrds easy to do? What does the Gun Jammin' achievement mean exactly?

They are not hard.

Gun Jammin' achievement = finish a level without a gun (Freeplay mode - sell your gun) and without dying. It's the hardest one.

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
Playfire say's it transferred 7,47 to my GMG account when in reality it only transferred 3,66. Been that way for almost a week. Looks like I have to contact customer-support tommorow. :(

The service is far from perfect, but it sure is a whole lot of fun. Not only due to it's rewards, I feel like Scrooge McDuck, but also because it makes me return to old favoriets and start games i've never played before. Registered two weeks ago and haven't gamed as much in ages. :p

I know, which is really what is truly strange about it. I just think they want to get the system fully functional (look at all the major issues they've had after all), before doing any sort of full rollout with more restrictions. I just can't see any other endgame for them unless they are going to cut the rewards to a fraction of what they are now. It's not like the game companies are going to subsidize them encouraging people to actually play their games.

Yea I would be more invested if there weren't so many hiccups with the credit transfer. It's a beta, so there will be issues but at this point there's no point trying to get credits when they're all perpetually stuck in limbo anyways.

What's weird is that you need to contact support to unlink your Steam account. AFAIK it's just a public link so it's not like they're getting sensitive data but it's still odd that they're holding onto it so hard.

You are a god among mortals. Fez is pretty challenging!
Fez is an excellent game but it's a snoozefest if you use a guide, which is unfortunately how everyone is playing it now for the Playfire rewards. :p The platforming is inconsequential, and the meat of the game, exploration and puzzle deduction, is nullified by following a walkthrough.

Yea I figured some people might be using walkthroughs to get the achievements/rewards, but it seems like the user I referenced put a solid 10 hours into the game.

I think the bulk of the challenge in Fez is even figuring out what the hell the puzzles/clues are. :p

Ah yeah, I didn't mean to imply anything about how Anteater may have played it specifically, but more on how a lot of people were approaching the game in the Steam thread, which is a shame imo since it's quite the experience to go in blind.

If Papers Please wins it'll be the game with the most awards. While I have Portal 2...actually wait I should sync my Portal 2 PS3 Trophies and then consider installing it on my Lappy...

Wow, that's a lot of rewards. The same amount of most of the week days last week combined :D

I don't have any of the games though.

As for subtitle here's one:

Guarantee I'm going to screw up this post? Yeah.
It has been almost a month since I sent in a ticket about my steam account not linking up to playfire, and they still have not been able to fix it for me. About a week ago, support ended up just telling me that it was fixed and closed my ticket, even though it wasn't fixed. lol

Total fail.

Yay, I've got most of those Worms game from a Humble Bundle but I never played them, same with Lunar Flight. Cheevos don't actually look too hard, either.

Crazy they gave rewards for Wolf Among Us. Wondered where the extra money in my account had come from.

Yeah, time to hit my backlog. Let's see what kind of discount I can get with 10 days left before DS2 drops.

Playfire should link to the GMG storepages when they put those rewards up, what if I want to buy that game for the rewards?

Been thinking about that too.

Also: time to install all those Worms games and Lunar Flight (I didn't even know I owned it until now).

This shit is pretty tight. The talk in the Steam thread convinced me to check it out (thanks guys) and after finding out it's a lot simpler to set it up then I thought it'd be, I ended up with ~$5 in my GMG account. I earned money playing The Swapper in March without even realizing it. If this lasts until the Steam sale in June/July, this is going to be fucking great.

You can sync the PS3 Portal 2 trophies with the Steam achievements? Have only played the SP on PS3 so it would be nice for the Playfire rewards :)

Not saying anyone should do this but is it possible to use Steam Achievement Manager to get the achievements for rewards? I'd assume you'll get a ban on at least either playfire, GMG or Steam.

I can't see this lasting long if people could abuse the system so easily.

So you can only earn credit from the current Rewards game (i.e. Worms)? Or can I play any game in my library and earn $$ for achievements?
