Looks like all digital PSP / PSone games work on Vita now [Not Anymore]

Can anyone confirm that Pac Man Championship Edition is working now on Vita? It was a PS Mini release for PSP that wasn't compatible before.

Aye, it works. Downloaded and played it last night.

My biggest issue so far is that I don't know what to buy next: SW Battlefront 2 or Renegade Squadron? I could easily spend 50 bucks but my memory card isn't ready. I also love how Sony doesn't even bother to announce anything. It's like they think the greatness of the device will do the whole PR for them.

Junior, please.

This in particular is of huge concern. You've just unlocked something with massive potential for your customers, and you don't say a bloody thing. Nothing on the blog, store, anywhere. You'd think they would be shouting this from the rooftops!

Signed.
But keep in mind that there's Fate/Stay Night, Evangelion, Hatsune Miku and magazine crossovers in this so I wouldn't hold my breath, as much as I would want it brought back. Licenses and all that.
But who knows, maybe they'll notice the demand.

I don't think there was in the western version... At least I don't think so...

I think everyone is concerned, which is why we have the mad dash to get things downloaded. You just never know with Sony. Things may have changed with the new leadership, but revising all of rights for all of the games available seems like a Herculean task, and one you wouldn't just let slip out on a Monday without as much as a "hey guys!"

I'm doing that, except in rage because nobody seems to care that it's an awful port.

In the original release on XBLA, you could chain the first 6-7 power pellets of Championship right off the bat with the right line. In the minis version, the combo time will always drop before you can reach the 4th pellet.

Bah it's like 15 days until I get my Vita Slim

I am going to be a sad panda if it gets "fixed" by then :'(

$9.99, 28 games.

OK, I've looked at the first four pages of the thread hoping someone had asked this question but I guess it is just me...

...how is this playable on the Vita since it is a PS2 title? Am I missing something?

The Vita storefront is being updated now... I see the new games of the week popping up. Blog post should go up at anytime now...

Oh god, oh god. What does it all mean GAF???

EDIT: Beaten.

I don't even know what to play right now. I just got Demon Gaze and Conception 2 but I have all of these PS1 and PSP games to play now.

Decisions, decisions.

Just checked and most of those things are definitely in the game. I believe the manga and food crossover items from the Japanese version have generic names and descriptions in the English version, but the magazines, Evangelion and Miku items all uses the original names and terms. No idea about the Fate/Stay Night stuff.

It's believed that Crisis Core has music clearance issues.
Powered Up won't pass Sony certification due to programming issues.
PoPoLoCrois isn't a first party game in North America, and Agetec's license has either expired, or never included digital distribution rights.

Looks like the song that has clearance issues is 'Why’ by Ayaka.. I bet Squaresoft is never licensing songs ever again.

It's just a backend change. No change to the Vita firmware needed. Games would be flagged in the store database as whether they're Vita compatible or not. Any games flagged as incompatible couldn't be downloaded.

They've just flagged EVERYTHING as compatible now.

This explains downloading from store directly to Vita... but not why downloading from PS3 to Vita would suddenly be allowed...

How was this discovered? Perhaps it was inclided in a Vita update some time ago...

A little birdy informed me that Powered Up works flawlessly on Vitas running the TN-V exploit, so you can cross that off the list of "programming issues"

So let me get this straight, I just now learned that Phantasy Star Portable 2 is a thing, only to have to find out that it's been delisted from the PSN store as well?

So there's no way I can play this huh? Man... my PSO itch will never be scratched. Damn you Sega.

You can queue the download to your Vita.

Don't quote me but you have to have these settings checked

I know when I checked the top one my auto DL's started upon a reboot or when you turn your Vita on. Not sure if it works from sleep or if a Plus benefit but Plus is already worth it so I could care less if remote DL's require Plus or not. They do work though so if your Vita is frozen for a minute upon initial boot up then know it's your downloads populating from queuing them up.

Sucks too, since PSP2 was really, REALLY good, we started a petition but not so sure if it will work out. :(

I'm surprised Sony hasn't said anything yet. I thought they would have had a blog post up by now since the store update has gone live in the US

I keep saying this, over and over, but people are still going gaga for being able to play the Minis version. Whoever made that version completely broke the timing. Ghost timing throughout is broken. Just yesterday, trying the Minis version out on my Vita, I was reminded (and appalled) by how much the timing issues screw up sections like the Keys.

The game is gorgeous—I love the more retro-acade-pixels look to everything—but lord almighty is it a complete waste due to the broken timing. Well, that, and the worthless leaderboards, since they're local-only.

...This is a bad sign; if Sony didn't intend for the flood gates to open...then they may pull the games off Vita :(. Got all the Crash and Spyro games (alongside the Pac-Man CE Mini) on my Vita now, so I don't need to worry about losing my games but still.

Glad NeoGaf told me this news yesterday, who knows how long we can get out games :l

Got a question for anyone who has played it. I loved Theme Park on the PS1 and I see there's a Sim Theme Park on PSN. How is that one compared to Theme Park?

I think you need to be fairly enthusiastic for that sort of thing to bother you too much. For someone that just wants to munch pellets in a technicoloured maze for ten minutes, it's fine.

I own it on XBLA, but I'm not about to hook up my 360 for a quick blast every now & then.
