I'm in no rush to play them but I think I'm going to buy both metal slug 3 and steamworld dig today. because why not?
RE: dark souls 2. I cleared out earthen peak yesterday. overall this playthrough is going 10x better than what I did on ps3. It's amazing once you learn the flow how much quicker the game is. and as per tradition, sorcery is easy mode.

Did my PC playthrough with 100% miracles (+a hex here and there) while I went full melee on PS3. That + summoning for most bosses makes the game laughably easy. Only things that still gave me trouble
were Royal Rat Authority and Chariot.
Doesn't work that well for PVP though if you're against people that know how to dodge.

I've been printing out game covers for a few of my games and it's been very useful, although I still need to burn a DRM-free copy of the game to a disc just so that it's not empty(although even when it's empty it still looks cool because I'm like, oh yeah I have that game I should play it)
achievements don't work yet I think, so no need to worry about it, you could probably just replay and skip all the text to get it when they implement it
You don't need to buy one. If you can wait an hour or so until I get to my computer, I'll give you a Lucius key.

yeah, I did equality build on ps3 and there were so many bullshit moments of getting absolutely wrecked by either bowmen or magic users that I told myself "never again will I not have a ranged option in a fight"
I still haven't cleared shrine of amana on my ps3 run because of that nonsense.

So forcing Vsync off in the Nvidia control panel seems to have done the trick along with dropping down the AA and Shadow Quality in Injustice. Played through 5 of the Star Lab missions and didn't run into any slowdown. Although there's still a possibility I will in longer play sessions.
It's looking like Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition is kind of a bad port, same with Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition going by what I've been reading. The problem basically boils down to this, Injustice and Mortal Kombat are both locked at 60 frames per second with frame dependent rendering. This is a fantastic thing if you're only dealing with one hardware configuration, like a console. The slowdown bug a lot of people complain about with the PC ports of both of these games is the frame dependent rendering. If the framerate drops, the game will not skip rendering any frame, it will simply render every frame out slower. Since the game is locked at 60 fps, if it drops to 30 fps, for example, the game will simply run 50% slower. Apparently even people with rigs that should be able to brute force run the game at ultra settings seem to encounter performance issues. This is an Xbox 360 game with DX11 bolted on. Hell, there's mobile versions of Injustice running on Android and iOS. 5 year old hardware should be able to run this without issue considering what the lead development platform for Injustice was. It looks like did very little to optimise the game for the platform they were releasing it on.
I think this is the first and last Netherrealm game I buy at full price on PC. If I buy anymore of their games in the future it will only be at a significant discount. GFWL/old-Ubisoft-DRM deep discount territory.

I keep on forgetting this game exists. It was first announced a while ago (like, a few years ago), and then went really silent for a time, until it popped up again. It's coming to Steam, WiiU, and iOS, and looks like another one for people who like old-school horror to look out for.
A gameplay trailer came out last Halloween.
Anyone heard of this? Looking forward to it? Like me and keep forgetting it exists? First time hearing about it?

Yeah, The Last Express is a pretty awesome adventure game. Great graphics and voices, an interesting mystery story, and a real-time system that encourages you to keep track of characters as they move throughout the train.

But the x360 controller for the game sucks; its analog deadzone range is too small/sensitive.

I don't mean to be harsh, but I find often with Steam reviews a lot of them will negative rate a game for some really stupid minor reason. Things like down-rating a visual novel because "It's not a game," or some superficial flaw or something of that sort. Sometimes it even comes to self-entitlement issues.
I am not saying all Steam reviews are this obviously, but I've seen it more commonly than I would have liked at this point.
