I'm not sure, but I believe it works like this:

- Profile Picture is seen by your 'real friends' (e.g. real name request), but not by other normal friends/strangers.
- Avatar is seen by both 'real friends' and nomal friends/strangers.

Ah okay. Would have been nice for it to change the avatar as well.

Deep Colour is the number of bits per colour of a single pixel in RGB signals

Standard is 24 bit (8x3) that is called in fact True Color

Some TVs accept deep color signal at:

30 bit (10x3)
36 bit (12x3)
rarely 48 bit (16x3)

Is a non-standard signal so it's not that important because the source (movie or game) has to support it. Blu-ray specification for example don't support it for Movies but just True Color (8 bit per channel). Keep in mind that your TV has to support it. On Sony TVs it appears on screen (1080p/12bit)

Just installed it. Not really going to use share factory but it seems cool. The biggest plus for me is the responsiveness of the UI. It was never a slouch to begin with (much, much faster than my PS3 and Xbox One in comparison) but it is now incredibly fast and smooth. Everything from what's new to the Store feel incredible. The PS4 OS is now officially my favorite console UI. For this alone, this update was totally worth it.

As others have said the update has drastically improved the UI responsiveness. The Xbone's is painfully slow in comparison.

Nice update, mainly happy that when the controller goes offline and you turn it on again, you don't have to re-log in to your user.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but you can say:

"PlayStation, Save Video Clip" in game

which works like 'xbone, record that'

it great that Sony posted the patch notes but I still don't understand their reluctance to mention all the ninja updates or what all the new voice commands are. the list is almost doubled with all that other information.

For people who have trouble sharing the last 15 min. I think the problem is you guys arent setting the starting point. You have to press SHARE 2X to set the start and share again to end that period.

I didn't have to hit Share twice last night when i tested it.

It's really irritating and makes it impossible to enjoy the system. It has to be related to the update as it never happened before and won't stop after. I'm uploading a YouTube vid so I can show you guys what I mean. It's crazy.

Try turning off deep colour, your TV may be incorrectly communicating that it's compatible.

Settings > Sound and Screen > Video Output Settings > Deep Colour Output > Off

I noticed this as well. It's actually getting close to what I experience on my Shield.

Quite pleased with the update today. That is until I tried to use Plex in the browser. It was working great up until today. Now I can't get it to display any video.

Try turning off deep colour, your TV may be communicating that it's compatible when it's not.

It truly is. There's nothing better than traveling around your house, playing a full PS4 experience.

My friends list keeps crashing, I get dumped out of parties, the store has trouble loading, and every game of Ghosts I tried to play (3 in a row) would result in a crash before the match was over and dump me to the dashboard. The game crashed even with me just sitting in the online lobby, before I even chose a game type.

You'd think with how little Sony updates the console, they'd have their shit together when they pushed out a new one. Guess not.
