Can someone explain to me why are leakers generally leaking such terrible images? I just don't understand, if they already decided to ruin the surprise and upload the pictures, what is the point of uploading images with such terrible quality? Is it like, oh it is a leak, so the image must be really hard to see and all mystical. It's like playing God with us peasants.

Not sure they do this with games ever, but with other confidential videos they sometimes distribute different versions of the videos with slightly different watermarks to each and thus by taking high quality screenshots it could be possibly to determine who leaked.

The poster alluded to Sony Japan Studio being featured at the beginning of the trailer. Sony employee in made this statement back in January which would allude to the Project Beast title.

I doubt From would be willing to develop something so similar to their current Dark Souls franchise. Doing so would cause brand confusion and possibly cannibalize sales from both titles.

I also find it hard to imagine how they would develop two titles with essentially the same gameplay concurrently like that. How would they innovate both and insure both are solid products?

The rumors pointing to this being a spiritual successor with very different gameplay makes a lot of sense in that regard.

That was posted in June 2013. It clearly meant TGS 2013. It's safe to say that the reveal got pushed not to coincide with Dark Souls 2.
