I wonder who gave Sony those frame rate numbers. The difference between 900 and 1080p isn't horrible but the difference between 30 and 60 fps is glaring.

It's not a downgrade, otherwise the resolution and fps would get better not worse lol.

what happened to that one german site that said it was 1080p/60 but with reduced graphic fidelity? maybe they went back on that and the effects will be better at the expense of resolution?

The 5 netbook cores that developers have access to in these consoles always meant that it was never going to be 60fps, no matter how much the visuals were downgraded.

I'm surprised they didn't hit 1080p on PS4 though.

I wonder how bad the PC port is.....

It confuses me how 900p can make someone miss out of the game. You probably can't even tell the difference on a TV.

Scaling from 900p is pretty obvious, see BF4.

I am actually surprised by the number of people whose purchase intent seems based on things like resolution as much as the quality of the game itself. I'd expect this sort of reaction in a review thread, not so much a resolution announcement.

Yeah, not getting this game. Wasn't very interested in it in the first place, but no 1080p on PS4 pretty much seals the deal for me. It's the resolution I've come to expect on PS4, anything lower just isn't good enough IMO.

I won't be getting 60fps, though. Hell, I don't think many PC players will.

sc 780 here but it's a PC Ubi soft game so it'll most likely be very unoptimized (till they patch it or nvidia release some drivers to fix the performance issues) AC4 was running really bad after release.

I think the argument can be made that Sony slightly damaged the industry by making gamers believe that 1080p is the only way to enjoy games.

I mean, if you have a PC that is powerful enough to run this game better then more power to ya, and I understand the comparison between the two consoles when the one that runs it at a lower res is still more expensive and you're better off getting the PS4 version if you have both consoles, or if you have neither console you're better off buying a PS4 due to its superior performance.. But to skip a game altogether just because it doesn't hit 1080p on either console is beyond the pale IMO.
