Well you did say Science and put in numbers so this must be legit.
I was a games journalist. I know my stuff.

So, we are salty now. Oh the irony
Edit: oh damn, beaten
This is the only pie chart I will take seriously... as in... funny enough to laugh out loud at.
I don't think those joke charts were meant to draw a parallel to the Polygon chart but rather serve as examples of a bad chart. My most important take away is that a not insignificant portion of GAF doesn't understand what is wrong with that pie chart, especially considering half of these fake pie charts are missing the point of what he did wrong.
Mario Charts needs to become a meme. Nonsensical pie charts and line charts making no sense about how video games are doing.
So lets get this straight. Ben Kuchera, who cries about the accuracy of NPD and thinks we should stop paying attention to them, feels it is totally fine to allow this article to be published? An article based on chartzzzz numbers? Oh irony, thy name is Kuchera.
I mean if you're looking for new, it'll be kind of hard looking for a $200 price point. But Nintendo's own webstore is selling the refurbished 32GB deluxe with Nintendo Land for $200. So there is that if you're fine with refurbished. Of course I understand if you only want stuff brand spankin new like I do.$200? Where? Ebay? Sorry, I'm not giving that scam site any more of my money than I already have. Tell me when I can walk into a Gamestop or Best Buy and buy a Wii U for under $200 and maybe I'll reconsider.
You should work at Polygon. Gross incompetence gets you an editor position.
Time for a classic to return:
I'm not kidding guys, I have NO idea how to make this graph in Business Object/Jaspersoft/heck even Excel without making something so vile I end up puking on myself.
But this? I'd hang myself if I was ever caught doing something like that then again I take pride in my work....
I thought I was just crescente and their whole pitch was to be the opposite of the, kotaku-Internet-clicks, type of stuff. I don't really know I hardly look at these sites unless someone sends me a link asking what I think about it and then I proceed to hate read everything on the front page.
All I need is neogaf for game news it usually shows up here first, discussion is encouraged and it's help me train my brain to detect rumor garbage.
I really don't understand the point of Internet news sites when you can sign up for the same information these people at these websites get.
Where are you getting that information?
These guys act like assholes on twitter to get attention. If you post their tweets on here you're giving them exactly what they want. So, we are salty now. Oh the irony

I didn't go to college to suck at my job.
And my piss is yellow. Are we just sharing obvious things?

I'm not sure what I will do with myself now. At least I can still read the articles they spend an insane amount of time researching.
The sexism comment I made was on a review (I forget which game) that they made a stink about some minor sexism in. I agree that sexism is wrong, but Polygon goes overboard with their righteousness at time.
If this is an insult...
But seriously no, never.
I didn't go to college to suck at my job.
That chart makes better sense than the one provided by Polygon!
They're that good that they managed to beat this!
Now when we'll talk about shitty graph this graph won't be the reference anymore!
Could easily swap out NeoGAF for Polygon and he would then be correct.

Ben Kuchera @BenKuchera · 29 Sek.
The amount of bad rumors and misinformation coming out of NeoGAF lately is getting silly. Fun community, but keep your grains of salt handy.
You should have had a ;D at the end. That would've solidified your credibility with me.I was a games journalist. I know my stuff.
That is crazy indeed. I can't believe its still selling that much.Nintendo sales as whole. They have always had long sales. DS/Wii/3DS pretty much prove it. I mean Mario Kart Wii sold over 1 million last fiscal year, that's insane for a game that game out in 2008.

Polygon is not a fun community.
I'm just here to comment on this.
What the fuck, how the fuck did they manage to make this graph?
Seriously WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?
This is the worst graph I've ever seen, it's brillant in how it manage to not say anything relevant and botch the presentation to boot.
I'm not kidding it's horrible, if I ever did this kind of stuffs at my job I'd be fired on the spot for gross incompetence.
From Ben's Twitter: "Mario Kart 8 Will Be The Worst Selling Game In Kart History"
Headline title: "Mario Kart 8 likely to be the worst-selling game in its history"
Article body: "If every current Wii U owner bought the next installment, Mario Kart 8, it would still be the second-worst selling game in franchise history."
Well which one is it, make up your mind.
There's something wrong with a news editor presenting that graph in article I assure you. It's the type of incompetence that gets you fired from any self respecting firm.

And I should buy a Wii U just to play a handful of 1st party games? What? Sorry, but I don't have the kind of disposable income to do that. Had Nintendo put out a competitive system this go-around, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy it over an Xbox One or PS4. Nintendo's own games still destroy their competitors' in the FUN department, and I value that much more than watching the newest Naughty Dogg movie or curb-stomping Locust with a steroid abuser.

Thank you for your answer.
So you are saying you don't care about what Wii U offers so you won't buy one.
I care so i did. So for me the games are not wasted at all, and for you it's clearly a wasted opportunity. A wasted opportunity to play great games.
Take care.
Yeah, the news itself is fine, I think. But the graph is so obscure and a bit meaningless to even be shown in that context.
Sixth grade? I remember being tested on graphs in the third grade.Fired from your job? This shit would get you a letter home from your sixth grade teacher about possibly moving to the special class.
