Target Triple Trade-in Value from 5/18-5/24

Well, good news is the system is up, bad news is I'm pretty sure what I brought in rang up $99 yesterday, and $53 this morning. Yesterday I thought the guy input something and $54 became $99, am I missing something important here?

Not upset since I went in assuming about $50 from the values on the website yesterday.

Can you run through the differences in trade-in value that you experienced?

The (online) system is showing for me that all the prices are basically the same.

I'm going to head out soon. Pray for me.

Went back today for my final kill. Prices are still pretty good; notably $36 each for Rune Factory 4 and GT6. Here's my final bounty. Thanks, Target!

I double checked everything, I think he musta goofed somehow yesterday, I was surprised watching the values go in and have it go from $54 to $99, but you better believe I wasn't going to say anything. I watched the values go in yesterday and today, and I checked the site now also, everything jives well enough. Seems I lost a buck and change somewhere, maybe MVC3 went down 50 cents since yesterday.

I was just making sure I shouldn't be going back and telling this guy to hit some magic button again for me :p

To be clear here, I had a $7.33 game, a $3.59 game, and a $6.66 game. Times three is $52.74. I'm assuming that's all I should have coming to me?

Actually there is a magic button...its in the top of the initial screen...its a "promotions" tab and has an on/off switch for triple trade in...

Haha I just got $60 for Mario Party 7 and 8, and Smash Bros for Gamecube(greatest hits)

Then i traded in BF4, KZ on ps4 and Kid Icarus 3ds for a little over $100

The guy asked if I had anymore. Oh if he only knew, lol

I go on my lunch break today to avoid the system issues. I get up here and I'm third in line. :/

Now I have a feeling this dude is gonna limit me to three games.

I get here there's 0 people. He rings up my games it doesn't go through. This is my third day here and he knows that so he sees I'm about to flip out (not really but come on right?)

FINALLY GOES THROUGH. At least the first 3. Now were trying to do the next 3...

Went to Target for round 2 today.

The one by UCF had a different guy from Monday, but the result was the same; he wouldn't let me ring up a second transaction, so I drove up the road to the one in Oviedo. Lo and behold, the guy said that due to Florida law, it has to be processed as an "electronics trade in" and I have to spend the money today, and only in the electronics department. He even refused to hand me the card.

So I bought Thief, paying the difference with my debit card. Walked from there straight to guest services, returned it, and had them put the credit back on the gift card, and the money I paid back in my checking account. Done and done.

Well, it'll be done when I trade in my last game tomorrow. Turns out one of the boxes I took from home (the only one I didn't specifically double-check) was empty. -_-

Guess it really does depend on who you get. My first day, it was the regional manager, filling in due to a lack of employees. He would not do a second transaction, and told me right off the bat "you can only trade in 3".

Went back yesterday and today, and the two young chaps who were there had no problem doing as many transactions as were needed to get me my full value. Even talked about how crazy of a deal this is. All-in-all, walked away with a bit over $400 in trades. Not bad.

Ran back in with NSMBU and it rang up for like $32. The lady forgot to put in the New part. I have just about enough for MK8 by trading in that and Tearaway, then I'll download NSMBU again and it'll be square.

I felt sorry for the girl there because she is the only person working and she has to do trade-ins and mobile crap.

Yeah, does seem like an understaffed sort of department. Plus when I went in, the mobile person was clearly frustrated by the system being down (she had to check all the games to see if they weren't fucked up), and some little kid kept running up to her to ask if it was up yet.

My store has one guy with a computer that pretty much is just sitting on a shelf next to some cellphone boxes. Not even really a kiosk. Reminds me of some makeshift setup just to say they have the department.

Just made $130.

Traded in Pokemon X (Never touched it as I play using Pokemon Y), Super Mario 3D Land (I own it digitally thanks to a prior club nintendo promotion), Dead Rising 3 (got bored of it), and Kingdom Hearts 3D (beat it last summer, will never touch it again).

So all in all im pretty happy.

Just went there earlier and got 410 dollars of credit. I don't really know what to use for it because of the variety I can buy in terms of gaming or non-gaming items. Really thinking of upgrading my 21 inch insignia tv though lol.

Slightly off topic, but what do they do with their used games for older systems?

Just for the hell of it, I typed in Super Mario Sunshine into their database. They take it in (would get you $30 with the triple value promo), but then what do they do with it? I've never seen anything older than 360/PS3/Wii used stuff at any Target. And, to be honest, I don't know if I've ever even seen a used game at Target even though I've seen people trading them in. They definitely don't older games on their website.

I'd definitely say upgrading the TV would be your best "gaming" upgrade, if that's where you do most of your gaming. 21 inches just sounds too small to do most games justice!

I spent all my $ (~400) on Steam and Nintendo eShop cards, as well as an 8 quart stainless steel pan. Needed it for cooking some pasta.

If I were you..I'd sell the 21" on Craigslist, and take that money + the $410 to get a nice $500ish TV. They have some decent sets at that price!

http://www.target.com/p/vizio-50-cl.../-/A-14408504#prodSlot=medium_1_2&term=50"+tv

I have the slightly better/3DTV version of that, and am perfectly content with the quality/performance I got from it.

It worked. ;_;

Traded in Zelda OoT 3D, Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid Icarus, Professor Layton, and Mario 3D land for $160.

Going tomorrow to trade in Paper Mario Sticker Star, Pokemon Soul Silver, and Persona 4, as I'm pretty confident their values won't change.

Good luck to everyone still trying, it seems like the system goes down at around 4 or 5 EST, so try to get in before then!

I will be checking this thread to see if the system is up in 20 minutes. Not gonna waste my time 3 days in a row for a pointless 1 hour round trip drive

I will call too to inform any fellow GAFers

Just got back from trading in The last of us, stick of truth, and GTA5 got about $115. Went to buy a extra PS4 controller and the PS4 camera and they don't have neither. Can't find anything else I want or don't already have................try to see if they have Amazon/kindle gift cards..........nothing.......get desperate and try to buy 100 visa gift card for 106.....cash register won't let me buy it with a gift card.......lame......So, i leave the store with gift 115 dollar target gift card. Meh

Some of the values seem to have gone down during the system update around noon PST.

Anybody seen any PS2 games with good values?

Went at noon today, mobile guy isn't scheduled to show up until after 2:00!

Went back with my 3 Gamecube games and the mobile guy struggles to get through it all, has to call someone for help. 30+ minutes later, he hands me a gift card and says I need to take it to the Electronics register to activate it.

They have no clue, but check my balance and the credit is there.

It's like no on has ever traded anything game related before. On a side note, the mobile guy was really chill. If Snoop was ever a Target mobile rep, this guy would have been him.

WOW! I can't believe that they are giving that much for Mario Sunshine!! A gamecube game! That game is far from rare and I consider it one of the most boring Mario games i ever played. Just because people can't walk into gamestop and buy one for super cheap anymore the online price seems to be inflating. Oh well, Im going to stop by my local mom and pop video game store and every copy they have and trade them in to stupid Target for $30 each!

Just got off the phone with a Mobile employee and he said the systems are up but he is going on lunch. Told me what time he would be back.

Praying the system stays up.

It isn't Target exactly who keeps these games, it's a company they've partnered with to take in trades.
They're taken to home HQ, cleaned up, and sold to other places for resale. Who knows where though.

Traded in AC4 and Infamous:SS for about $50 each, feels pretty good.

Funny thing is that AC4 was the "Gamestop Edition", which I was almost sure they were going to reject. I was expecting the transaction to fail when she went to scan the box, which surprisingly she never did. SUCESS!

I wanted to try again on my lunch break (like I did yesterday) but I called and the Mobile employee had just gone out to lunch. The other electronics employees had never even heard of the game trade-in program so they couldn't tell me if the system was up or not.

Worked fine for me at 4:15 today. Left with 87 bucks on a gift card. I've got three more games to trade in which should get me up to $355 total.

Welp just got back from trading in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Super Mario 3D World, and Titanfall.. Got about 137 bucks from just those three. All told across three different days, I sold 15 games that I will likely never play again, got me around 440 bucks. Based Target.

Picked up lots of Steam cards, a Nintendo eshop card, Xbox store card and Wonderful 101. :) My physical game collection is a bit emptier than it was before, but my digital collection just got inflated a bit. :D
