As an Ike main who was slowly giving up hope on him returning. . I am stunned and so overjoyed right now. So worth staying up for this despite working in 5hrs!!!! :-D

Were Ike's clothes always made from patches of cloth from the people he killed? Because that outfit is Final Fantasy ridiculous.
He still looks pretty neat, but still, lol. Probably purposely made buffer and a less uniform outfit so he didn't blend in with Marth and Chrom. Honestly, gives more weight to a third lord's inclusion to me.

Is that seriously it? How in gods name is that inspired by the GameCube controller?
He's one of the most memorable Lords in the Fire Emblem franchise (being the star of two consecutive games, Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance), was fun to use in Brawl, and was near the top of most people's lists of expected cuts for Smash 4.
It's a pleasant surprise.

Pretty good character who got some decent development between both games. He was horribly, horribly represented in Brawl (and judging from those screenshots, he still has the same moveset)

This may be my favorite redesign so far (along with Bowser). They're really emphasizing that he's the strong Lord and Marth is the quick one.

Damn Ike looks really good now. I love his new design. I hope they give him a new move set and that he's not a clone of Marth... also, I'm still hoping for either Ness or Lucas soon or for Shulk at E3.
He was a clone before? Must have been playing him completely wrong then. I thought he only had Counter in common.

Aside from this god tier fridayTON reveal, the bess news is that Chrom probably won't be a marth or ike clone and instead be wholly unique if he makes it as the third F.E. rep.
So we can expect a few common stages. Nice.

For this game, Ike's design is based on the hero that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His sword deals heavy damage in Smash Bros., so this design suits him very well! Rest assured, he can use Aether as well.
