I was kind of pissed about Rob when he was first shown but he grew on me, especially after I learned his importance.
I'm still hoping for Sukapon or Takamaru though, imo the last "retro" characters needed to be made a part of the roster. I would have preferred either of those to Rob back then, I still want them in but I would like seeing Rob back.

I think the faster gameplay will automatically make ike higher tier in this Smash Bros. I imagine his recovery will be buffed like everybody else's too. Also as far as custom movesets go; projectile sword beam anyone??? ; D

There's a lot of Fire Emblem toons with blue hair, isn't there? But I meant Chrom so it would relate to the latest release in the series. In retrospect it does look silly to ask for him.
I just think Ike is a safe, boring choice.

Marth and Ike were never that unique to me. One of them would do. I know I'm being controversial here but I can't deny it.

Probably not but I'm more biased towards him, I have no attachment to Ike, and I don't think he'd be missed as much as Toon Link. So they had an opportunity to put some unique Fire Emblem character in his place to appease fans and have something fresh.

I'm surprise at the amount of people who prefer Chrom to Ike, I guess i shouldn't be since Awakening was a introduction to Fire Emblem for many with Lucina and Chrom being their first Lords.
I'm sure if people get a chance to play Path of Radiance they'll realize why Ike is a better Lord or better yet, character to both Chrom and Lucina.

They had just as much chance to put a unique wind waker character in or revamp toon link's moveset to appease fans and have something fresh.
Ike has a completely unique, fun, powerful moveset and Toon Link is Link with different physics. End of story. You said you were biased though and you weren't kidding.

A literal copy of a character (Toon Link) would probably not be missed as much as totally unique character. (Ike) I think if Toon Link was cut, most people would of been okay with it, especially if it meant everyone else would be in.
Also, Ike is extremely popular in the FE community.

It's not like him being in stops them from putting in more Fire Emblem characters. For any fighting game roster, the less "cuts", the better. It gives people more characters with different playstyles to use. Plus Ike and Marth play very very differently. Ike is also a very popular Lord so he definitely appeases fans of Fire Emblem and Brawl's cast.
I wasn't aware. But I've only played Awakening (like a lot of people), so a more recent character would've been nice.
I tend to think Zelda fans outnumber Fire Emblem fans, so that's why Toon Link would've been missed more. Not because of his gameplay, which isn't very unique.

But Toon Link is Link. We already have Link. We'll always have Link. We don't need two Links at the expense of other characters.
But I don't think you need to worry about getting an Awakening character. I'm pretty sure one is on their way.
There isn't anything that's saying Chrom or Robin or someone from Awakening isn't in yet. Though I'm sure we'll hear outcries of "so many bluehaired Lords" if Chrom makes it in. I personally don't care as long as long as he has a cool moveset to use. We really shouldn't be saying "x would have been nice" when the roster isn't fully revealed yet.
And Zelda fans do outnumber Fire Emblem fans, but there's really no reason to remove a character with a unique playstyle outside of time crunches.
