Watch_Dogs |OT| PS4 would probably melt trying to do this

PC version of GTA V would look insane.

I certainly hope so! I put off purchasing the game on PS3 because of how poorly it ran.

That vrame usage is absolutely shit can't be true. 5gb yeah right....for what? No no! Not even a 4gb 780ti would be enough then. Bullshit.

But goddamn why cant they just release it on uplay goddamn.....

5+ GB of VRAM?! WOW!

My 280X only has 3GB!

Fuck.

Can someone, anyone please make a video showcasing all the driving cameras the game has, and some extensive first person cockpit driving ? Preferably on PC at ultra ? And switch different cars? And showcase transition from walking to driving in first person ?

Thanks.

Are there still mountains in this game? Because I remember seeing that in the trailer and hoping it was some other portion elsewhere, because Chicago has no elevated land.

The numbers are hard to see in same of the screenshots. I would suggest you go into rivatuner and change the color from purple (default) to something like white.

The text looked a lot better before uploading.

Here's 21 more with white lettering and more variety. I have to agree with what's been said before, that night is much better than day.

I just realized that this is basically the game that I thought Splinter Cell: Conviction was going to be when it was first announced.

The city looks pretty dead.
How's it when you're actually playing it?

Far from dead. There is almost an unrealistic amount of pedestrians sometimes haha

This is my little vid with the game running ultra 1080p but recorded with Fraps so I loose some fps.Running on FX-4170 with GTX-580oc 3gb card and 8gig ram.

Will run the game in the morning on my 8350 setup to see what changes.

I have an 8350 overclocked at 4.8GHz. I look forward to seeing the results you get!

I'm angry that I've preordered the game (on Origin) yet so many people are already playing it. Legitimate customers get screwed with strict regulations on release dates.
I AGREE. it's fucking bullshit. Pirates are rewarded and real customers get shafted by having an even more agonizing wait.

So like packed on each street? Because Chicago is packed with people and pretty much always busy save for a few scant areas.

- I have a huge hard-on for my city. Sorry.

Interesting, those shots are from the same scene as one of the 2013 PS4 gameplay trailers. If this is definitely Ultra, then there are clearly at least two effects missing - some kind of parallax mapping for the paved road, and the dynamic DOF.

The overall shininess of the ground can be attributed to it being just after a rain shower, compared to your screens that are bone dry.

But here, beyond the shininess of the wet ground, you can clearly see there is some depth to the gaps in the paving in the lower left, beyond just a normal map.

But the key thing that made all the old footage look so good was the dynamic DOF, which is very apparent in this scene in motion (when he walks up to the cash machine for instance), and I haven't seen any of it in the recent streamed footage on PS4 or PC. The DOF goes very shallow when the camera gets close to things, and that isn't happening.

Very strange - those two things would make a massive difference to how 'next-gen' it looks. I expected to see them on Ultra.

we always knew there was a downgrade of sorts, but seeing the direct comparison here. It makes me sad, really, it does.

If only all games today were like Crysis, we could mod them to look like however we wanted, and maybe have hope of getting those features back into the game, like with MaLDo

This is the first game that truly makes my GTX 480 feel inadequate, It's just not up to the task. (i7 920 @ 3.6ghz).

Who could blame you? Chicago is awesome. And yeah fairly packed in certain areas. It really shows when you start shooting and there is this huge flow of people trying to leave the area.

I say unrealistic sometimes because on this one stream I saw a ton of people walking around inside a like gated community in the suburbs. Seemed out of place.

No.

Stop that.

Ahh, I see.

Buying this Day 1 anyway.

The videos and posts I'm seeing are of mid-range hardware chewing it up quite well. Runs better than I'd figure it would after all of the spec concerns. Lotta i5s and 600 series cards cranking most things to Ultra and still getting 60 FPS largely.

I'm kind of in the mood for a solid open world title but I have a hard time pulling that full price trigger any more outside of like...a Blizzard game or a cheaper downloadable.
