I'm genuinely surprised that the servers didn't crash from traffic the second the article was posted. Hopefully this will be the first E3 without a crash.

The first scenario isn't realistic. What internal meeting at WWS is going to reach IGN before it reaches Shu and Rohde? What internal meeting at WWS wouldn't include Shu and Rohde for that matter? If TLG is cancelled, that means Rohde is simply lying because he would absolutely know for a fact.

Maybe not Scott Rohde ( he manages WWS America ), but there is no world in which a cancellation of TLG would not have Shu Yoshida involved in that internal meeting.

And even if Scott Rohde is not in that meeting, he'll find out about it within a week, because he's just that high up in WWS.

As we got more info, my scenarios are falling apart, I'll admit. Sony's claiming this meeting happened last week. So yes, Shu & Rhode would know whatever IGN knows.

I still wonder, why'd IGN wait? We got smaller sites running with this earlier today. Why now? What pushed them other? DId they get a second source (who from the revision, may have pulled out?)?

I really want to be a fly on the wall at IGN right now.
