naw, it was a headline + story with 100% confidence.

btw, Druckman tweeted "do gaming journo's who actually confirm rumours ever get pissed at stuff like this?" So do you?
I get kinda pissed off when sites like DualShockers build large audiences by posting bullshit E3 lists and publishing articles about everything thuway tweets. But I know that IGN knows better than to sacrifice credibility for one article, so I feel like there must be more to this story.

Shu Yoshida retweeted Rohde's tweet, so it's basically 2 of the highest ranking WWS employees refuting IGN's claims already. ( even if we assume Scott Rohde isn't aware of the cancellation LOLOL, there's no way Shu Yoshida isn't )

So effing weird.

Or just bloody bad journalism.
I think they are trying to keep the dream alive to squeeze out a few more sales of the consoles before the whole house of cards falls into itself.

One word: Beluga Vodka

Sony's information ban is not uncommon. Remember how Driveclub was basically in a 'no comment' stage for a few good months, where they wouldn't even confirm that it was still on track to release this year?

Sony's NDA is far-reaching and wide.

I never said I didn't like it. I said I never understood all the hype behind it. I think I'm just burned out on hearing about this game for so long.

I can understand that but you would be better off just ignoring it instead of wishing it was cancelled just because you are sick of it.

It's pretty obvious a lot of people are looking forward to this game and you should respect that.

And I say this as someone who has no emotional attachment to this game.

Wow, finally just caught with this thread and....well wow. It really does look like IGN really messed up this time...

BUT at this point I almost feel like Sony has to show something of the TLG either at E3 or sometime this year. I don't think they can go on with another year or two of just confirmations that the game is still coming.

I just really hope it's not another case of a game company denying a rumor that is actually true. Though the way IGN has edited their article makes it sound like they aren't really confident in their own source or sources as they originally put it.

It's more of a Japanese thing, lol. I've come across it a lot and generally things will be revealed when they're ready. But in this case, they must reaaalllly want to wait until the last minute to reveal anything.

If this game ever does get made, I hope they remove the rat-like characteristics of the dog thing. A bird-dog is perfectly fine. No need to be mixing in rat stuff.

I'm interested to know who their "inside source" is who fucked this up. This isn't IGN's typical MO, regardless of my opinion of the quality of their journalism. If they really wrote this based on that flimsy Russian Twitter stuff... damn.

From the outside, Buttz looks incompetent or drunk. Has e3 drinking started yet?

I really don't see what the big deal is about this game. All we got was a CGI trailer 5 years ago with some flying dog looking thing. I hope the damn game is cancelled just so people will shut up about it.

Although I don't quite agree, GAF does get so wrapped up in its own hype about the most inane things sometimes.

I do respect that and I would feel bad for the people who want it and it winds up that the morons over at IGN were right about the game being cancelled.

I don't think they will announce anything until they're certain it will ship.

i voted "What is wrong with you, poll guy?"coz still i wanna hope...but honestly they could just save their devs faces showing AT LEAST 2/3 mins of REAL gameplay at the e3...another "trailer of the trailer" showed 5 years ago.. ..would be just laughable

ps. i know that most of ppl would cry getting just some cg trailer...but...no

Playstation retweeted scott's tweet

This retweet holds more weight, imo.

You're either trolling or haven't played Ico or Shadow, if you haven't then I heartily recommend them. They were free on PS+ for ages and regularly go on sale.

If you don't own a PS3 (or PS2) then bad luck but they should be on PSNow sooner or later.

The game is following in the footsteps of some very good games (ICO and Shadow of the Colossus) so there's that.

So these last 8 years with people constantly asking questions and getting non answers shouldn't be questioned or ridiculed? Whatever. Fine, Sony did a terrific job with keeping fans and gamers in general up to date with what was happening with The Last Guardian.

It's pretty normal when there's an information embargo/ban/whatever you want to call it on a project. Unfortunately, it means you can't really say much at all. :| Usually it doesn't last this long though, so there must have been some hiccups (like for FFXV) but they can't even talk about those (officially) probably :|

AFAIK, these two Russian journalists shared the news first.

Also strangely enough, one of them says "Fuck You" to the IGN Russia story

While I'm here on GAF, Talladega Nights is on in the background and its at the part where Ricky Bobby is in hospital where he thinks he is paralysed, when he is really not. And he is being so stubborn about it, he stabs himself in the leg to prove a point, and then starts screaming. Fuck I laughed at the irony.

Cos this is IGN EXACTLY. They are being so stubborn, they keep stabbing themselves over and over.

IGN, pull the fucking article and replace it with another that says "Scott Rhode confirms that TLG has not been cancelled".

ps. Someone should make a gif of that scene I mentioned above, it would be hilarious.

82 pages holy shit... LOL

Also.. if it wasnt true im sure sony would have said "blah blah we dont respond to rumors blah blah"

The fact they outright denied it is saying a lot...

I want to see something simple like the catbird thing roar and then have it fade to black with a release date at the end of E3. 5 years later and damn it's still an amazing trailer.
