Its so strange how much IGN's talent varies, i started watching Podcast Beyond a while back and at first i didnt like Colin (seemed miserable) but since then he has shown he actually is very well informed and his opinions tie with a lot of the well informed people you get on Gaf. Gregg is also very good with his knowledge (not as much as Colin i would say) but the guys they have on that show overall are really good and know their stuff.

Yet you get some of their other staff acting like youtube posters following the most baseless rumours, not being able to look at the big picture, agreeing with DRM gate, dismissing peoples ability to tell the difference between 1080p and 720p on anything less then a 50" TV etc.

I hate saying it but sometimes it really seems like the Xbox people on IGN (From my experience) have no clue when it comes to certain aspects of the business or are easily dragged into the PR machine.

That was some Alex guy on some Bonus Round episode, last year.

But also a total Xbox fanboy like Ryan Mcaffrey, but just goes to show they pay for gold without even knowing why, they just pay.

I have thought the same thing and have concluded it is b/c the Xbox podcast crew is the B-team.

I'm disappointed at how fast people bought into this rumor. You wait for years just to give up 2 days before E3? Not acceptable.

Ah fair enough, either way i have heard some serious bullshit from the XBox IGN crew whenever i have seen their stuff.

Either way, as foolish as it could be i believe TLG will be there tomorrow, even though its said every conference its either now or never at this point. Sony know they fucked up announcing TLG as early as they did and they arent going to re announce it until they have a release date ready, plus it would beef up their holiday 2014 period with a big game (In many gamers eyes, not necessarily the general public of course).

Weren't they sort of forced to show it off after the early-build Project Trico video leaked or whatever?

Actually i cant even remember the exact details of what happened, its been so long ;)

Either way they know they have had shit over the last 8 or so years about the game and i can see them wanting to go through announcing it again only to delay it again because they would get so much shit.

Game journalists get Gold for free actually. Thats the problem and why a bunch of them minimize the issues with paywalls.

I wonder if someone claiming to be an Sony employee is telling Russian Journalists on their was to E3 all of this.

One of the Russian journalists was about to start his flight to E3 when he tweeted (All the tweets are translated with Google) this:

Does it not seem that whoever told his about the cancellation told him about it shortly before boarding the plane to E3? Considering the timing is it also possible that an employee from IGN Russia was also attending the same flight to E3?
