Eli is a fan of videogames?

You'd think his subordianates would know better than to follow orders from a guy with a freakin' foreign object lodged to his brain!

"Kaz, it's the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo, they're tapping all of our phones! I can see them sneaking around the base out of the corner of my eye, we've been compromised! Don't you see the blood Kaz? Don't you see the bodies!?"

"I know Snake, I know. Just go to sleep, I'll take care of it. It will all be over soon."

In game-design terms, tufts of grass and little rocks and things mean nothing in a GTA game. In Metal Gear, it means everything. Every little bush can be crucial to the gameplay. Even in Ground Zeroes I found that returning to like certain squares of 10 metres felt totally different because there were different guards around, changing the context around that space and how I used it, how the puzzle element of figuring out where to sneak sort of looped differently around the same areas. Environment stuff I ignored other times suddenly became important and memorable.

This game won't have the features of a Rockstar world, but the differences balances out when the immediate environment you're in is so much more important and urgent to the gameplay.

In a way, this is open-world design that is better (from the core) than R*'s. No other open world "sandbox" game is quite this flexible.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.

Damn. Not even small two second snippets of gameplay here and there? This trailer didn't do much for me. Still excited for the game of course.

Yes, Peace Walker is a direct sequel to MGS3.

You could read up on Peace Walker instead, but we're talking about direct tie overs with Peace Walker and The Phantom Pain/Ground Zeros.

But, maybe you can save yourself from the tonal shift. So my advice, go read up mainly on Kaz, Chico, Paz and Mother Base. The actual story is garbage and doesn't seem to be important, the characters are what matters from Peace Walker.

Thanks.
Just reading up on what I've missed and I remember why I soured on the MGS series... Story is so convoluted.
Oh well, this still looks interesting so I'll probably give it a go when it comes out.

Was just advaice but if you want to dedicate your life to discovering the secret code behind those 4 numbers, don't let me stop you.

Come on! I dont "dedicate" my life! Its a freaking discussion! Does everyone here dedicate their lives talking about this trailer? Do people talking about the horn dedicate their lives to this?

Mine is still up. Will make it public for a short time. Had one account stricken for Copyright already, can't risk too much time online at once. Will shoot for 4:00AM. CST (5AM EST) to make it private again.

Thanks.
The tone of this game seems to be very serious, there doesn't seem to be any room left for the lighthearted moments of humor that were always present in all the previous games. I can't say I'm happy with that. A MGS trailer never made me felt depressed before but that's all I'm taking away from this one.

i hope will be CQC playable sections in the base.
It's been confirmed that the base will be explorable in real time in the game?

So did anyone else notice palm trees at the beginning? I'm guessing the dead there include people Jack met during his youth spent stationed around Bikini Atoll during the 50s.

This is matching up with a 4chan leak from months ago as to the main mission maps...

France
Marshall Islands
Costa Rica
Afghanistan
Haiti

with Africa being the location of the Diamond Dogs/Outer Heaven hub world?

That vulture calls to mind http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Condor.

There's palm trees in the last trailer behind the african kids.

Kojima's numeric riddles are so complex the only way to solve them would be by dedicating ones life.

Kojima has tried to make it pretty clear that this isn't anything but a dark, serious Metal Gear tale, as much as many would like to think he's in a different mindset after 4. Alas, I'm quite excited for it myself.

Times up on the trailer mirror. I really can't risk it getting me a strike on such an otherwise enjoyable day, and there are plenty of direct download links here for those who want to see it enough.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
I think this time around Kojima really doesn't want to show too much of the game.

Via Twitter, Kojima really played up how low-key this trailer would be, compared to the "traditional" trailer. But he specifically said that it wouldn't contain gunfights. It did contain at least one gunfight, and several other fights. Not to mention, he said the second E3 2013 trailer would be free of explosions, and it wasn't either.

Am I misquoting him? Am I off base here? It's still an atmospheric trailer, but it still feels par for the trailer course, mostly. Save for the dark implications. But maybe that's what makes the difference.
