the worst mgs trailer is the mgs4 trailer where all the soldiers are going insane because of NANOMACHINES. this one's nowhere near as bad.

it's okay.

Fuck me that looks better than I could have ever imagined. Absolutely loving the fact we'll be seeing so many scenes with Big Boss and his army together.

I'm also 100% sure that was Quiet getting dunked in the water like that, and she was fully decked out in military gear too.

I would be astonished if any other trailer at E3 outdoes that.

How did you come to that conclusion?

Emphasis it put on a masked man in two scenes, here, and in the scene where he eventually pulls out a knife.

Always a chance they are different people and just grunts although I think its Solidus.

The masked man is trying to kill Big Boss, and Solidus is just the guy The Patriots would send to do it (and he's in their pocket at their moment), we see in this scene him aiming a gun at Big Boss trying to assassinate him.

Also, if you have Young Snake's face in the game for a secret, you do an unmasking.

WOW.

It's been a while since I've been impressed by a trailer.

Gotta get me a Xbone/PS4 soon. This is one I need to have.

It's a deliciously personal and character-focused trailer.

I've never been a big fan of Kojima's tendency to over-indulge himself with his stories, but I really hope he can pull off Big Boss' descent into madness.

Why is Konjima so intent on making it all serious and gorey? The best part of old Metal Gear was not taking itself too seriously, now it's in line with the other 90% of shooting games.

Music choice is all over the place, first Garbage, now that NUUUUKLEAAAA guy. PFFF. Harry-Gregson Williams scores were times better. I don't know which feels this is supposed to invoke.

I like the music he is using so far. That song imo fit the trailer. Haven't heard the Garbage theme yet. Hopefully, Hideo is trying to add some musical diversity in the game instead of just adding Hollywood-style/epic themes so many games have to use all of the time.

360 and PS3 are listed at the end of the video. Safe to assume it's coming out on those too?

Yeah. It always was. I did wonder if they'd scrap the 360 version because of disc size but looks like they'll be scraping whatever sales they can out of it. If Ground Zeroes is any indication the old consoles will be a tiny fraction of total sales though.

Its not Big Shell guys.
Big Shell was built in order to clean the waters from the oil that was discharged into the sea during the Manhattan Incident (2007)

My brain always tries to piece every new MG trailer into some logical order, but I'm having trouble with this one. I can't quite tell whether it's implying another massacre of, or if they're dealing with the aftermath of Skullface's attack in Ground Zeroes. Is this another Mother Base we're seeing, or is it the remnants of the first Mother Base? The timeline in the GZ credits implies pretty heavily that we're going to see Outer Heaven established in this game, but it's an abandoned nuclear silo in South Africa, not another oil rig.

The main thing throwing me off is that it just seems weird that they'd still have all the ashes of the guys who died in Skullface's attack lying around nine years later. I can't imagine Big Boss wakes from his coma, rescues Kaz in Afghanistan, then gathers everyone up at Mother Base for a big memorial ceremony, y'know? Even if Mother Base wasn't totally destroyed, you'd have to think it'd be too dangerous to go back to now that all Snake's enemies know where it is and it doesn't have a Metal Gear to protect it any more.

So, I don't know. Big Boss still has an MSF patch on his shoulder during the ash-smearing scene, so I imagine that's the point where he abandons MSF and decides to start up Diamond Dogs. But then all the Diamond Dogs training scenes (you can tell by everyone wearing Diamond Dogs insignia) are set on that same oil rig. Maybe it's like a Forward Operating Base for Outer Heaven? Maybe this just is Outer Heaven?

Sadly, like 80% of casual gamers like gory, realistic and ultra violent video games so Hideo probably tried to make this appeal to the mainstream gamer more. I like the fact that MGS didn't necessarily take itself so serious at times, but I can hear the crazy casuals thinking that certain elements of the old games are rather silly now.

No, He's shown cremating coffins with Miller standing next to him. He has Diamond Dogs logo already before he saves Miller.
All the bodies could be from the opening scene/bloody face stuff. I really don't think they've gone and dredged up all their soldiers from the bottom of the Caribbean.

How can people get hyped from CGI trailers? Gameplay or bust! Also, that Kojima guy likes his name a lot. Writes it everywhere.

This isn't CGI, it's all in-game baby. And we already have enough idea of the gameplay from Ground Zeroes, last years Red Band trailer and the sneak glimpse we just got recently on Kojima Station.

Huh?! It's nog CGI. You mean cutscenes? Last years trailer was awesome, a nice mix of gameplay and cutscenes, so yeah, i'm dissapointed by this one. Hopefully there's a extended version.
