I'll play H4 MP if it fixed the framerate issues and Proving Ground was the only playlist to play H4.
I'm actually really looking forward to jumping back into some upgraded Halo 4 multi. Had a lot of fun with it on the 360 for a good long while.

Then Halo 3.

Those two call to me.

You know what really blew me away I saw the presentation at the Media Briefing live at first?

The actual look of Halo. I mean Halo as the actual ring. They really nailed it with the atmosphere and depth of the ring. Looks like you "feel" to be on that ring this time. Really like that atmosphere.

Lack of a Halo was my biggest complaint with Halo 4.

The first thing I will do is play H2 from top to bottom in all its greatness. Then Halo 3 and then four.

Edit: I cannot get over those redone maps. Amazing. Wish they all were.

Edit 2: Should be proud Frankez and co with over 4K GAF threads with the 2. Not counting the leak threads. I wonder even without the leaks....

This is gonna sound weird, but I miss the fog/clouds on Ascension. It really gave it that elevated and alien feel. I preferred the mountaintops sticking out of the clouds over the floating asteroids.

Yes, the skybox is absolutely stunning...it's one of the reasons I am hoping we explore a new Halo in the next installment.

Halo 4 on 360 looks as good as some current gen games. Running at 1080p 60fps will make it look just amazing.

This. I just really hope that they have some decent/good AA solution for the games. 1080p/60fps is fantastic, but I hope it does not come at the cost of AA and please NO SCREEN TEARING!

Halo 4 MP has value to me. I'll definitely play it.

Oh yeah, like I mean it's crazy they got it to be 1080p and 60 fps for the campaign and multi-player which suffered horrendous drops. But I felt Legendary BR's was perhaps the best way to play H4, and now, they've given us an H2A Playlist that is equal starts, no sprint, increased movement and strafe, descoping is back, and is set in the H4 revised engine.

So in essence, it gives us the newest Halo experience, but using classic Halo 2 style game play. So I'd rather they have remade all H2 maps for this Playlist. Or maybe even thrown in a few CE, 3 maps as well. I can dig a new Playlist like that, which is graphically updated, but is classic Halo game play.

So question becomes, do you want to play Halo 4 BR starts on Adrift, or Halo 2 Anniversary BR starts on a new Midship? H2A Playlist can supersede Halo 4 in a sense.

I think the new resolution and frame rate will really help Halo 4 campaign greatly. But just look at this. If I want the newest experience, I'd run customs in this H2A Playlist rather than Halo 4.

This compilation reeks of damage control vs Destiny's ample package whereas a simpler focus on Halo 2 would have been sufficient IMO.

The all thing around the campaign being watched/played through the eyes of Halo 5's Agent Locke is nice but not necessary (except for some fancy unified menu) and I can't help but flag it under "343i likes to show off" rather that "343i has great game ideas"...

Yep, this is the shitiest post i've seen so far on GAF. Congrats

As someone who's got a 360 really late into last gen, I've missed all of these Halo games. I've obviously pre-ordered this game to have a look at what I've missed. So GAF, how well did the Halo franchise hold up over time? Am I still going to have a blast playing these games without the nostalgia factor (I did play a lot of the original Halo back in the days)? Which game do you think has the best single player campaign out of the four?

It's interesting to note that he hasn't posted anything on GAF since. But enough of that. You know what I'm looking forward too? The Master Chief Collection. Think it'll be pretty rad.

I personally think ODST had the best single player campaign, which isn't included in the collection, but I might be the minority here.

Otherwise, I'd say Halo 3 has the best single player campaign. I also really enjoyed Halo 2's campaign, unlike most people. So... take that with a grain of salt.

I never actually got around to finishing the campaign in HCEA, so I'm probably going to jump straight into the full singleplayer campaign, all 4 games playlist and do the whole thing, front to back.

Missed out brother on the greatest of them all.

This is just my opinion, but I feel like 4-player co-op through Halo 3's campaign is the peak of the series. If you're playing alone, I'd still place CE as the best campaign. 2 and 4 have their ups and downs.

Oh, I played the SHIT out of the original back in the day, but when Anniversary was released, IIRC I was spending around 99% of my gaming time in WoW, so I just never got around to finishing it off on 360, and never got around to going back to finish it off (was thinking about doing it recently, but then the rumours started swirling about the collection, and I decided to put it off).

I didn't get around to finishing the Reach campaign until earlier this year, for similar reasons.

They'll hold up pretty well, especially at 1080p/60fps. Now keep in mind, Halo CE and Halo 2 are games from now two gens ago 10-13 years almost. But they also have new updated campaigns with newer visuals and textures that should satisfy you. Halo 3 will really benefit from the resolution boost since it was barely 640p when it was released. Was an earlier last gen game Halo but has beautiful moments in campaign etc. 4 will look next gen to you.

I personally rank campaigns as CE>3>Reach>ODST >2>4 but this includes a variety of factors, how I was feeling as I played etc.

Honestly, I can't wait to run through them all, especially at 60 fps. No frame rate dips, smooth game play. It's a shame you won't get to experience Reach and ODST.

We are on GAF. Everyone is just talking about 1080p and 60fps. In the end, this is something "nice to have" when playing a game over months. But there is something else nearly no one is talking about here: all multiplayer modes will run on dedicated servers. This is possibly the best feature for the older Halo titles. In the long run, this is something that will really matter.

Especially for Halo, this is a pretty big deal. There alway was this huge host advantage in Halo - no one can deny that. And Big Team Battles often were pretty much unplayable due to lag. Having everything based on dedicated servers now is just awesome. Just imagine 8vs8 Halo 1 Blood Gulch action on a dedicated server! OMG!

And now just imagine if they really do a good leveling system/ranking. Holy ... I really can't wait ...

This is the "dream come true" collection. I'm most excited for the framerate and resolution increases, but I can't downplay the importance of intact multiplayer and 100 + maps!

The campaigns have held up very well. Halo 1 is a mixed bag, but the good levels are so good that they easily outshine the frustrating repetiveness of the bad ones. Halo 2 is solid, but never comes close to the highs of CE, though the introduction of the Arbiter was a stroke of genius. Halo 3 is absolutely magnificent. Probably my favorite campaign ever. Aside from a one poor level near the end, it is brilliant. Halo 4 also has an great campaign. It never hits the transcendent highs that 1 and 3 do, but it is very well made and features one of the best stories in the series.

OMG!!! i really can't wait to do my Halo Gun Syncs for this game, look at the background and the games not even finished yet D': wish they remastered all the maps :(

I used to be a firm believer that people don't know what they want, and will always want what they can't have.

I am now starting to reconsider this outlook.

Cheers 343i.

I am as impatient as shit. I spent like a good thirty minutes staring at an Xbox One at the store wondering whether I should buy it, or wait until later to hear about pre-order bundles etc.

Plus, I just want to know everything about everything for this game. I want to see ViDoc's, interviews, game play videos. But there is probably some PR and marketing person for 343 telling them, you laid the bait, they're latched on, now reel them in slowly.
