What up with the Crucible? Other players get gear from it constantly and I never got anything despite having the most kiils / highest kill/death ratio / most captures. It makes no sense.

Well, looks like they dug themselves a marketing hole.

:)

Hope that's true through. Since it appears that's the start of the game, my first mission will be to turn around and walk as far as I can.

Have any of you tried firing a rocket launcher in that direction?

Maybe switch to sniper rifle immediately after to watch how far it gets?

I'm playing the Strike mission again. You guys were right, that Devil Walker is such a bullet sponge. That's bullshit. It's definitely killable but it's a waste of time. Not good game design, in my opinion.

At first I didn't see the point in giving the DualShock 4 a dedicated Share button but no with this beta I think it's a godsend. I can take a lot of screenshots at the touch of a button, without thinking too much about it, and delete the bad ones later. And boy, have I taken a lot of screenshots.

HOWEVER, I can't upload them to Facebook or Twitter due to some bug. Whenever I try to upload them, an error message says that it's impossible, so I must transfer all the screenshots to a USB drive. Very annoying.

I do the old

- Send screenshot as attachment to other PSN account
- Log into other PSN account with Playstation app on phone
- Download screenshots
- Upload to dropbox

For the love of god Sony, just let us upload directly to dropbox/imgur/etc!

Great idea. I'll see if it's already been suggested on the official Feedback website and, if so, I'll vote for it. Unfortunately Sony are so slow with their updates (they promised a Youtube app for freaking fall 2014...)

noob.

aim for the turret and remove that first, then hit the legs. When it opens its shell grenade, Super FIRE EVERYTHING.

I can solo that encounter in about 6-10 mins.

Blow a leg up then when it's head drops, shoot it's neck for massive damage. Even better if you use heavy weapons and supers on it and that area too! seriously can be dropped in mere minutes if all 3 of you do exactly that.

If I'm going to get over to some of those places my Hunter is going to have to get over her aversion to water, or let my bike jet across it .

It's actually not too bad if all 3 of you are focusing on a leg and then the neck when that leg goes down. It felt pretty well paced to me when I did it like that.

So disappointed at the lack of loot/reasons to explore. Lots of caves and empty buildings and such, with NOTHING in them. So pointless and lifeless. Drains the fun right out of this game since all you are doing otherwise is blasting endless hordes of enemies. Hope they change that before release!

I want more loot and more rewards for exploring.

My biggest gripe with the Alpha. I found one loot chest in the wild

a few thoughts from that E3 demo.

-Ghosts voice sounds MUCH better
-The Fallen crawling out of vents etc. I hope this makes it into the game (them just respawning from nothing is very odd )
-His grenade reset is super fast.
-When people joined my fireteam they did not drop from a ship

-Destiny is awesome and I love it.

It's not if your team plays it right. Guy on the left, guy on the right(will cause the turret to move back and forth), one guy clearing trash (which drops ammo for both guys on the right and left). Shooting the legs forces him to drop to the ground and reveal a soft spot. Unload with your heavy weapon, repeat. Doesn't take more than a couple minutes.

there are defintely loot boxes to find all over, in caves and warehouses. though i wish they were not so rare and obvious. they stick out like sore thumbs. Something a little more intergrated like Skyrim/Fallout loot/items would have been way cooler. Obviously not as robust/crazy as those games, but more in that direction. Big glowing metallic box in a run down abondenedd building or cave, just screams gamey to me.

Had a fun time with the Alpha. A few things that I'd like to see in the final game...
- Toggle waypoint on permanently.
- Holding R2 to compare gear to equipped gear should work in stores/vault too.
- I should be able to delete gear from the vault if I want to.
- Ability to request to be added to a fire team instead of only an option for invite.
- The revive icon should be more prominent.
- Non-ammo pickups should be more highlighted to distinguish from ammo.
- Pop up messages for when certain cool downs reset, like the 5 min for using an ammo consumable, etc.
- Put a commo rose system in place of one of the dpad directions
- I'd be fun to have a slight level of control in the ships loading screen; sway your ship, change flight position with other ships, toggle lights, etc.
- Reticle over an ally for 5+ seconds reveals a bit more general info like total defense/attack numbers, equipped gun, etc.

I actually like that. Many of the caves look like they will be part of optional beacon exploration missions. For me this is better than the near mandatory exploration in games where so much loot is buried in the environment that not scouring it leaves you at a disadvantage.

Anyone else feel like they really need to expand on The Tower more? Now i'm sure there will be more available in the final game but it really would be nice if there was more to do there in that safe social zone.

Various arms and armor vendors that carry different stock... put in a firing range to test out your new weapons... some Playstation Home like "things" would be cool.

As it is now i'd almost rather use a menu for the functions/shops etc. that the tower provides. Need more social goodness and sights to see.

I found quite a bit of chests in the wild and even a few dead ghosts. Too much loot would be over saturation. The loot felt pretty good to me. Like others have mentioned, Borderlands almost has too much where you don't get excited over anything and 95% of the loot is garbage anyway.

I think loot is a "careful what you wish for" type of game mechanic. Plus, the way gear levels up the more you use it and has it's own unlockable features/bonuses, you won't be wanting to get something new every 5 minutes anyway.

i was looking for that video. i want that to be true, but i don't think i can believe that.

yeah Im not sure i beleive it yet either. in the alpha it looks like that area is not designed to be explored, there are no paths leading the player to explore that area, just cliffs all around, and while it would defintely be fun to explore and ride the sparrow across, it looks extremely barren with no real points of interest. Has anyone asked Bungie about this? If that area is still in the game?

It sounded like maybe it'd be expanded on post-release. Like Old Russia will be limited at release and we'll get to explore additional areas down the road.

Eh, I figured this is part and parcel of something that is a public alpha. What would be the point of populating the space with loot that you couldn't do anything with (like crafting parts, etc..) it because that feature isn't available in the alpha? And if it's nothing like that, then what? Just gold/glimmer and maybe a gun or some armor drop? I got plenty of that just through natural exploration.

I just think there is a bunch we don't have access to in this alpha and that is dictating the narrow range of loot available, which I'm alright with; particularly given that all that progress is going to get wiped soon.

My biggest gripe with the Alpha. I found one loot chest in the wild

I found a number of them, but those caves can definitely be hit or miss. Personally I like that those Ghosts you can revive are scattered about in such a way that it encourages going off the beaten path. I've found a bunch of loot chests just through jumping into fenced off areas, getting on top of structures, etc... while trying to find more Ghosts.

Slightly OT but I sympathize with all of you out there that are hungry for a fully fleshed-out exploration experience. NMS can't come fast enough.

You can destroy the turret?

I also think its a waste of time howver for different reasons. It just sucks I spend more time on it than sepiks prime and get pretty much nothing after beating it

yeah same thing i said here.

to their credit, he does say "that we hope to one day, get to send you to." So hopefully they dont lock it off as a future expansion or DLC. Though they do imply it is explorable right now. But in the alpha you get insta killed if you go anywhere near it, even if you find a spot to walk down the cliff.

but as said above, they do say it is explorable right now. And his comment alludes to maybe in a future video/demo or on release you can explore it. But yeah.

I wonder what other areas in what countries they have planned out. I'm sure there will be a US section (or several different cities), some in Europe, wonder where else.

You can't destroy the turret, but you can destroy the blue electric rocket launcher attached to the turret.

Is it STILL going on? I want as much time as possible on this game.

Now that I'm level 8 and I've done the raid three times, I'm not sure I want to play anymore. I'm too lazy to go find new areas in Free Roam, and I'll wait for the full game before playing PvP again. I don't like the idea of grinding for perfect Level 8 gear either. Guess I'm just gonna mess around in the Tower.

Anyway, I feel like I've finally put my PS4 to good use. That's how you build hype. Kojima should take notes and not make his demos playable :)

I wish we could get a sci fi game that uses something other than simple torch light to see in the darkness.

Doesn't even make sense in a combat situation, does it? Using a flashlight/torch would let people know where you are for a start.

I want really advanced night vision and thermal imaging and all that sweet, sweet stuff.

Not a floating torch light.
