Van Helsing is one of the most overrated games I've bought because of GAF hype.
fun for the first hour then...oh god, no....just no.

You have to use the theory of the rising tide of GAF hype.

If a highly anticipated game releases in a genre (Action RPG) that makes a vocal minority disappointed (Diablo 3) then they will hype up shitty games (Van Helsing, Krater, Torchlight 2) in order to make up for their disappointment with the aforementioned anticipated game.

I avoided all of those crappy aRPGs based on this theory and have had my theory proven right.

I'm not really sure what Valve could really do at this point to continually make their sales as good as previous ones. I'm sure this has been said countless times but the rate new games come out and the rate people buy games on sale don't equate. I agree they could throw in some more obscure games in there but they're obscure for a reason (i.e. they don't sell well).

More series packs or similar bundles. All the gtas thus far for 7 bucks or whatever was great.

Do some more bundle sales (kerbal + space engineers + FTL) to help spur exploration into different genres etc.

Have they ever done more than one day of encore deals? Usually always just the final day of the sale, right?

usually sales appear more than once during the same sale, but the last day is a good bet if you are holding out for further discounts

Is there a healthy amount of Gaffers that play Payday 2? I own the game but don't own any of the DLC... Wondering if the various packs are worth picking up to play with you guys.

There are dozens if not hundreds of games that don't sell well because they do not get presented. Either the dev has no money to market or Valve chooses not to promote them on the front page during sale time.

If they made it to the front page, they'd sell.

OOTP15, Unity of Command, Panzer Corps are just a few that come right to the top of my mind... great games that aren't promoted.

Are they obscure because they don't sell well or do they not sell well because they're obscure?

As for the sale itself, for new users it's as good as it has ever been. And I've got a ton of games and still find new and interesting things daily. 95% I'll never play but when has Steam sale ever been about playing anything.

I used to play it all the time. Loved it. Not sure why I stopped in the first place, but doing stealth runs co-op was a blast. Framing Frame final stage was always a good time.

Natalie Dormers?

When she takes off her top, is her catch phrase, "Who wants pancakes?!"

Cause that's kinda what they look like.

Picked up Payday 2. It's pretty good fun. The AI can be really really dumb at times, such as a cop crouching in a corner on file cabinets doing nothing but pointing his gun and staring at me for 5 minutes straight.

I believe there are quite a few and probably even more so after the sale. THe good thing is that you don't need the DLC as long as someone in the group has it.

It would be cool if steam showcased smaller games more often.
Kind of tired of seeing the same games every sale from the big publishers.

Rebuilt server RAID5, found bad sectors on one of the other drives too.
Sigh. I'm not going to get to go to sleep early, am I?

We used to get the indies in the metagame sales, but SAM ruined that for all of us.

For Autumn and Winter seal Valve should do either games bundles and feature them in the storefront or expand the number of games featured on flash and community sales, or both.
