I used to play it all the time. Loved it. Not sure why I stopped in the first place, but doing stealth runs co-op was a blast. Framing Frame final stage was always a good time.

Hmm... I know a couple of people at my college that love it a lot. I definitely want to get some good peeps together and run some heists. Ever since The Dark Knight, I wanted to drive a bus into a bank and rob it that way lol. xD

i'll start playing again if more people here do

but we should play strike vector first

I considered picking up Strike Vector when it was a deeper discount. It looks legit as fuck, but read one of the reviews saying that the online portion of the game is dead in the water now. Is that true?

well it was probably true before the sales. there'll obviously be a new influx of players now and some might keep at it

dead community games are always best picked up during a sale

I'm not really sure what Valve could really do at this point to continually make their sales as good as previous ones. I'm sure this has been said countless times but the rate new games come out and the rate people buy games on sale don't equate. I agree they could throw in some more obscure games in there but they're obscure for a reason (i.e. they don't sell well).
Are they obscure because they don't sell well, or do they not sell well because they're obscure?

Early on Steam sales were filled with "obscure" games. Recettear sold a ton in the first sale despite being a no-name, rather "obscure" title. How many people have discovered games because of the sale? How many posts do we still get of "Never heard of this game, any good?" I don't think obscurity is a problem in a sale. The sale will solve said obscurity by featuring the game.

The main issue isn't that games repeat. It's going to happen when you've followed two sales per year every year for three years. Like you said, it's a natural fact of life given the rate that games release. The issue is that so many games repeat when there are other titles that haven't shown up once. Where's Double Dragon's sale? Or Pac-Man's front page deal? Or Cook, Serve, Delicious!? Or Volgarr the Viking?

It's a combination of wholly deserving games being passed over and games that have already had a million chances getting a half dozen more.

If they ever do a Western Fate Stay Night live action, Dormer should get first dibs at Saber.

So, I didn't know the protagonist of Transistor was female. I mean, I know some guy drew a female incarnation for the art contest thing, but I didn't realize it was canon. Explains the choice of male voice. She's like a mix of Alison Sudol and Squall from FFVIII.

nidhogg is the shit

online MP is just there for demand cause even if it worked it's hardly the same game at all

i'd like the online to be better, sure, but when the circumstances are met (aka you're with a bud) the game is fantastic

Never heard of it, sell it to me! :D

Looks like it's based on supersonic acrobatic rocket powered battle cars. It's a PSN game, I think it might have been free with PS+? It must have, either that or there was a demo. Either way, it seemed like a pretty weird car game with a soccer ball and floaty physics. The cars could boost in the air and fly around a bit, and there was a lot of flipping.

Still no discount on SiN:Emergence.
Also, if you didn't catch the Puppy Games games, they've been 90% off for a few days.

Wish the Telltale complete pack would have gotten a flash/daily sale (doesn't look likely at this point).

I guess packs are usually more of a winter thing, though (?)

The Roller Coaster Tycoon games and the early Fallout games were added to the sale midway through, so you might have missed those.

Is Resident Evil 6 for 9.99$ worth it ? I don't consider myself a fan of RE but I liked Code Veronica on Dreamcast and the Wii Edition of 4. RE 5 was just meh but it wasn't a waste of time. Will I like RE 6 ?

I wonder if you could just use something like Hamachi to make a virtual lan to play together?

Edit: Played local co-op with it myself. The game is loads of fun

I'm not familiar with Hamachi, so I don't know if that's possible.

but yeah this game is a blast to play in local multiplayer!

I haven't played it but some people say they didn't like the game. People here been talking about RE6, and said that the combat system is decent.

They should do a fourth tier of exclusively indie, obscure or niche game deals.
This could work. Another option is to just make the community choices more balanced and fair. Double Dragon and the like shouldn't be up against, say, a fan favorite like Just Cause 2. There should never be votes as loaded as some of the ones we've seen. Far too often it's just been clear which side would win.

Unpopular, niche, or lesser known games should never be up against highly popular titles in the vote. It's just asking for them to lose. Sometimes this week it's felt like Valve had something against the side GAF wanted to win. Why put Dark Souls and Star Wars: Battlefront up against Ikaruga? The latter is going to lose. Every single time.

It would also help if we had a losers bracket. Either have the second half/third of the sale's votes be a losers bracket, or have a separate losers bracket appear at some point (maybe even do it for the third vote each day). This way games that have lost have a second shot at appearing on sale. This would especially help the number of titles that get to appear in community votes but never appear as flashes or dailies.

The first two Fallout games and Tactics aren't $2.49 anymore, but they might show up again if there's an encore deal day.

RCT 1 is still $2.99, 2 is still $4.99, and 3 is $9.99 if you're still interested in those.

I want to get Bad Company 2 but I don't know how many people still play it. Is it still have a lot of people online?

It looks like 516 people are playing it right now.
