Pokémon Trading Card Game (GBC) coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop

Hmmm, I remember owning this game. Think I still have the cart lying around somewhere. Kinda brings back memories. I used to collect Pokémon cards like crazy.

Fantastic news. This is a rare instance in which I'll be willing to rebuy a title I already own just to show support. Pokemon TCG 3DS needs to happen!

As someone who really likes the actual game behind the Pokemon trading cards, but doesn't really want to spend a bunch of money on cards, this game was a godsend.

North America pls along with a localized Pokemon Card GB2.

Official GB2 localization is never happening :(
Would also like to see this happen
but also am not quite deluded enough to believe there's even the slightest chance it will.

Cool. I would definitely get it if it comes to NA.

If a new Pokemon TCG game did come out on the 3DS, it would probably only have a percentage of the cards from the TCG, wouldn't it? That's like 15 years worth of sets to curate and I think those early set cards are not legal anymore, yeah?

Not necessarily they already have digital versions of like every single card. There's a free flash version of the game available from pokemon.com...I fully expect some kind of monetized game out of it before the end of this generation

Oh god, this is perfect. I've been trying to track down one of those backlit GBA SPs for years so I could play this properly again. Quite possibly the best Pokemon game ever made.

Yes! There was a speedrun of this during the Summer Games Done Quick and it made me a bit nostalgic.
Now if only Nintendo took VC seriously and localized unreleased games...
MAKE A NEW ONE YOU FUCKS!

It's not really the same because it doesn't have an overworld and a story but if you just want to play the card game, you should try Pokemon TCG online. It's free and there's a lot you can do without having to buy any physical cards.

I seriously cannot wait to play this, my youth reborn!

Although I do play TGC online, I still have a nasty habit of picking up BOXES of booster packs, I just love having those physical cards!

Aww yiss. Played the original on my GBA, emulated it on DS, and am ready for a third playthrough. One of the best Pokémon spinoffs.

Classic (& amazing) Pokemon games on the virtual console? Let the floodgates open!

Fantastic series that I'd love to see them revive on 3DS.

A Pokemon game coming to GBC VC? Hope this is a hint of other things to come...

I'm not going to get this, as I was never a fan of this game (despite enjoying playing with the real cards back in the day). If it were one of the main entries, or even Pinball, I'd get it day one.

I'd like to have seen you beat my beastly Jigglypuff & Pikachu deck, Mewtwo literally can't even damage Jigglypuff. ;)

I'd use Barrier on one of my Mewtwos preventing all damage for the entire game and eventually you'd run out of cards and I'd win. The only way to lose is if whoever I'm playing has and plays multiple energy removals. It would take an age to grind most people into dust but it's pretty fool proof.

Just give me four base Mewtwos and 56 psychic energy and I'll beat any deck! =)
To beat that deck you just need one of the many cards that have you shuffle your hand into your deck and draw X number of cards. Something like this.

EDIT: BTW, you can now choose not to draw an additional card if your opponent doesn't have any basic Pokemon and you have to draw a card even on the very first turn so if you went first you would automatically lose as long as I didn't use any cards or attacks to draw from the deck.

This is so great.

Collected some Pokemon cards when I was a kid but couldn't be bothered to play actual matches w/ others.

Slapped this cartridge into my Gameboy with music maxxed and I would lose myself for hours.

Totally getting this when it comes to NA E Shop.

Damn, this game is legit.

Now, all we are missing is Pokémon Puzzle League for Wii U - or better, a digital-only sequel.

I missed that one out completely back in the days. To be honest, this is the first time i read of it. Does it have multiplayer vs.? My Magic inflicted TCG itch needs some scratching. As always, hehe. A portable Pokemon TGC, hmmm...

The original did, but the 3DS's Virtual Console doesn't have multiplayer support (yet?).

Oh man that's in 3 days!

I still have my GameBoy cart kicking about, one of those games thats just forever awesome.

And for anyone thats interested in the sequel, I'm actually doing a Let's Play on my YouTube channel of the English translation so you guys can see the differences (which there is a lot later in the game!)

Pokemon Puzzle Challenge for the GBC would be the shit too, though Puzzle League exists on DSiWare and that is more or less 100x better.

Probably my favorite game for the gameboy, I really hope it comes out in NA. I traded my gameboy and games to a friend for his n64 and games back in the day, and this was the only one that I kept.

Thanks for the answer! Well, I'll keep an eye on it but missing MP would be a bummer in that case. They'll hopefully add it.

There's almost no chance they will. GB, GBC and GBA games don't support multi-console multiplayer because they either don't care or aren't capable of emulating the link Cable. My money is on the former.
Game Gear is the only handheld on VC that does.
