Pulse rifles seem like utter shit.. unless there's something I'm missing to them. I have an uncommon Pule Rifle i was just using in Iron Banner, it has pretty high text damage but my grey Scout Rifle functions the same way, only better. And Hand Cannon is also pretty similar to Scout Rifle, but also less good (much shorter clip, longer reload, less range) These guns need a bit better identities; better trade offs. Right now it just seems like you'd gravitate to whichever has the best all-around killing power, which is Scout Rifle. Since these guns all occupy the same standard firearm slot, they all need to have distinct identities and purposes, which I feel they don't have right now. The special weapons are a bit better in this regard.

PVP is an enigma to me. Sometimes I'm really enjoying it and getting tons of kills, and other times I'm getting absolutely blown to bits by other people's supers. There is no middle ground and it's frustrating.

Anybody want to do the strike on level 8 a couple of times? Loot farming currently. I won't be talking either because I am tired. PS4.

No need to do a strike for loot, go explore, head to the ship/mothyard, there is a metric ton of loot there, mostly $$$ & common stuff, but every now and then you'll get something uncommon

i wonder what they are testing on that Iron Banner mode. or what ever it is.. Also, I wonder what they are finding and what they are changing every time they bring it up.

I have done that for about 4 hours. Nothing decent. Strike on level 8 is quicker with better loot.

Spinmetal farming in my previous area seems to be toned down also. =(

I normally don't do first person shooters. Especially not pvp because I know I'm terrible.

However, I just did Iron Banner with a premade group of 6 friends, all with headsets, for about 1.5 hours and it was ridiculously fucking fun. Even came 2nd or 3rd in my team a couple times.

I could definitely be about this for launch, though PvE will always be my main focus.

I get destroyed on Venus even though it's my favorite map visually, but I held my own pretty well in the three other maps.

I've come across a really good way to farm kills/engrams and level weapons. This may have been posted before.

Start the level 5 mission "The Last Array"... (make sure you pick level 8 if you are)

Complete it up to the point where you deploy the ghost and waves of enemies start coming at you. Kill all three waves (collect any engrams that drop), but leave the elite (yellow HP) at the very end, and let him kill you. You will respawn at the start of the three waves and can keep doing this over and over again. Very fast kills, lots of engram drops.

Thank you Bungie for putting the event on at two different times for two recurring days. Was really upset yesterday because only 2pm was known (which was 4am my time and i just couldn't afford to get up that early) but the 7pm one was fantastic.

Played 9 games, Won 7 of them. Also teamed up with a fellow DestinyGAF member for those straight 7 wins. Somehow though he got a legendary weapon even though i was topping the tables constantly :/

Oh well - had fun, got my insignia and my cloak. Looking forward to tomorrow!

It's so weird to think that the same company that did multiplayer matchmaking for Halo 2 and Halo 3 also made Halo: Reach and this. In Halo 3, I'd occasionally have the issue of terrible teammates, but Reach and Destiny have brought it to a whole new level. It also doesn't help that half of the weapons in this game have a network delay to verify that they connected. There are times when I think I've dodged a Golden Gun shot only to disintegrate a whole second after it appeared to whizz by my head.

I'm done with PvP for the beta unless I get into a party. It's apparently impossible to get teammates that have more brain cells than the ten thumbs that they play with.

I was seeing this a lot tonight like my shots registering really late. I'm assuming pvp is running on p2p and not dedicated servers?

My bro, Pons here on GAF, and I played a shit ton today and had a fucking blast. Being the two tough bastards we are we laid waste to the enemy, he and I, Titan and Hunter.

Many jokes referencing many wizards from many moons were told, and even when the chips were down and it seemed all was lost, I boosted our spirits by only referring to my Ghost as "Dink".

This game must be from the moon because it's out of this fucking world.

Anyone else worried about environment fatigue in the final game? I'm getting it a ton right now, and we only get what, 4 or 5 unique environments? I do love the art and presentation of the game in general, but it wears thin when you go through the same environment time and time again.

Also, PVP is still a mess.

Whoever helped balance vehicles in this should be fired. Preferably out of a cannon straight into a brick wall. So ridiculously broken.

I can't get anything from the strike. It keeps giving me fuckin helmets and secondaries that are equal or worse than my level 8 uncommon sniper.

Also my level 7 green scout rifle kicks the shit out of my level 8 green pulse rifle for some reason.

I was seeing it a lot as well. Many times I'd be unloading at someone, they'd run around a corner and a full second or 2 later die from my rifle fire. Hopefully this is one of the things they're 'testing' with this.

Ya pulse seems like the worst of the three so far. Wonder if they'll balance it somehow.

Ok... In that case what's the best way to get glimmer? . Roughly 2500, just keep doing the strike, or look for chests on other characters, that adds to it right?

I go through explore grabbing chests and doing the like, special target missions(when looking for mission beacons, these look like a diamond with a star inside, surrounded by a circle). Those missions give glimmer and spinmetal.

Normal chests respawn as you go through explore, just randomly. The only ones that require other characters are the 5 golden chests which only appear once. So just learn common locations and run around.

Mobs with yellow health bars also drop glimmer, and if you use Ether Seeds, all fallen will.

Played the Alpha. Hated PVP.
- If you crouch, you appear on the enemy's radar less. And since this is such a frantic deathmatch PVP, sometimes crouching by a doorway or in a corner, taking a breath, and allowing some crackfriend to run into your base like a maniac is the smart way to go.
Valuable information for us scrubs, thanks bro.

I was able to destroy people with my pulse rifle during the iron banner. Against enemies I don't like it as much.

Pulse is crazy powerful if you're good with it. One shot killed me so much. I had fun hunting down Pulse users tho.

Wanna throw my 2 cents into the PvP hate bag.

Really not enjoyable. Angering to play. I did great (1st place) one round, OK 2 rounds. One arm armor worse than what I already have (a white).

I wish there had been no PvP because I don't want to play this and it was a waste of resources. Hate hate hate.

(at least they could change the loot drops)

That's what I meant. Both my lv7 scout and lv8 pulse rifles were four shot kills against other players in Iron Banner. But the scout was seriously like 500% better in PvE.

Can someone please give a rough idea of how long it will take before I can do the group mission(strike??) if I start the Beta right now going solo until that point.
