  • [*]So lvl 8 is the max you can get? < yes, but you can grind skills, and everything you collect will be transfered to retail game

  • Has this been confirmed? I thought they actually confirmed the opposite that nothing would carry over apart from whatever special beta thing we get on 26th?

HOLY FUCKING SHIT. This game is simply AMAZING.

RIP Halo. RIP Call of Duty. RIP Titanfall. RIP Wii U.

PlayStation won this gen by getting most of the Destiny mindshare on PS4.

God damn.

This game.... <3

WHAT really? ONLY 20! :O that seems VERY VERY low to me.
I would think it was at least 50 and more obvious would be lvl 99.

Could very well be a Guild Wars 1 thing, where level 20 is max level, and you reach it by the end of the tutorial world.
After that it's not a hard number, but skills, equipment, stats and weapons to upgrade throughout the game.

Fuck that. I want a clean slate come launch.

I'd like to keep some rare gear I've found, but I want to start over with (hopefully) a complete character creation tool and a more final representation of the leveling system. It took longer to go 4 levels in the Alpha than it did to go 8 in the Beta...

[*]The 5 mission in old Russia are the only sp/co-op missions in the beta? < yes. Possible unlock of the Moon mission on 26th

[*]Can you sell weapons? < You can dismantle them for credits

[*]If you discard items you get credits or are they just gone? < credits [glimmer] and sometimes more exotic material if you have discarded green/blue weapon

[*]Vault are not unusable in the beta I assume? < you can store items between all your charachters, all will transfer to retail game

[*]Can you change the look of your char in the beta? Will you be able to in the full game? < unknown

Is the underlined part true? Link please?

Am I the only one who absolutely love Fusion Rifles? They are so freakin' powerful. And I love the learning curve. When you get really good with them you can charge behind corners, peak out and blast the enemy.

It's currently the most devastating super. Use it against a crowd of enemies for maximum effectiveness.

Thanks. I just used it to complete the Warmind. It really is pretty bloody devastating. Took down a captain and a number of dregs no problem. Cooldown seems awfully slow down, much slower than the vortex grenade.

Level 5 now and I've unlocked a pretty sweet green main weapon Cydonia AR3. 39 attack.

Hell yeah!

The fusion rifles are, so far, the only different weapon. Everything else is very standard fare in shooters, and don't manage to be particularly interesting versions either.
They're good and fun but they use up ammo very fast (in PVE).
Good thing the one i have has increased ammo drops.

FRs are ridiculously good. Fellow GAFer here was destroying folks with it in Iron Banner.

Yeah that could be it, but most people like the numbers that keep going up.
I think its harder to explain when you tell people you max lvl is 20 but you level up other stuff but not your main level.

I have hundreds and hundreds of screenshots stored on my PS4 now, just because of this game.

Full game definately needs a barber or such merchant where you can change hairstyles.

I picked a wrong hairstyle and my guy kinda looks like a douche.

They should just let you change appearance entirely at will for a Glimmer fee IMO. The customization is so threadbare-- not like it really identifies you much at all in the game anyway (no body types, just faces that you barely see).

I played one Iron Banner match. Me and my team got our asses kicked so I didn't play another match and went to bed.

Did I miss something important?

Has Capture The Flag been mentioned at all? I think some kind of mad dash variant on CTF using the Sparrows + Pikes could be pretty insane. Let people pick them up while riding and hold them with one hand while in formation with their fireteam space motorcycle gangs. It would likely require custom maps though cause the playing field would need to be pretty large.

Bungie please. Crazy Space Race CTF playlist asap. First one to 20 flag captures wins.

Nothing apart from your skills and weapon specs actually mattered, which would lead to massively one sided games... and it did.

So as a Level 7 I'd just get owned if I joined the Iron Banner?

..I don't get it. I think.

Stuff like Hunter capes seem to stand out more, but yeah atleast with Warlock the armband you can barely see doesn't do much. Plus you have helmets on 99% of the time.

Maybe some of the Shaders will make you look distinct, AFAIK they all seem to be level 20.

The normal crucible scales everything, but your specific gun stats and armor actually counted specifically in Iron Banner. I honestly didn't feel a huge different from IB compared to the normal crucible, and I started the day at level 6 too. I did terrible at first but it the actual weapon types more than the stats themselves.

I'm not really digging the game so far.

I'm a lvl 5 hunter.
The gameplay is ok, but my main issue is that there have been too many times in which I had no idea what I had to do or where I had to go.

In the level selection screen (ie, Earth, Moon, etc.) I have no clue what missions I have played and what not, and I don't know what are story missions and what not.

While playing a mission, the objective description is too short and many times provides barely no information.
I was once playing a mission in which I had to "scout" something. No idea how to do that. There was a progression percentage that seemed to me it was randomly increasing. I had to leave because I had no idea how to finish that.

The UI is aesthetically very beautiful, but seriously, a pointer to control it?

And loading times are unbeliveably long.

Hope they can polish some things for the release version, but I'll probably won't be picking this at launch.

Anyone knows what each class got for participating in the Iron Banner event? I was working at the time it took place so I unfortunately missed it.

In some of the screens people have the second tier of skills unlocked, I thought they were tied to class level but apparently not, how do you level them?

About things transfering to full game, is it locked by system or your bungie account (can you go say, from ps3 to xbone with your items?)

Depends on your gear, but a level 8 will most likely have slightly better armor and weapons automatically putting you at a disavantage. It's the main reason the standard PvP standardises the equipment specs.

I didn't think it was that bad.. I actually played at level 5 and still managed to keep a 1.0 kdr.

Well, the gear differences in the beta are pretty minor. In the retail, any non-20s will suck in Iron Banner, and anyone with more Light than others will dominate.

Nothing will transfer from the beta to the full game, they will wipe the system clean for launch just like every other beta for every other game before it.

Where is your source for the features that will carry over to the full game?

have you tried pressing the touch pad? It shows the way points.

I know pressing the touchpad brings up the small objective description, and I know there's waypoints in the minimap.

It's not that I get lost during a mission. Is that many times I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. I think it lacks a lot of direction and feedback.

So I'm guessing that some crazy powerful enemies guard areas that you aren't supposed to be correct? Because I ran into a few that completely fucked me.

There is no source. They haven't ever confirmed this. A possibility is there but that's all.

High-level areas. You can go there if you can live. Meant for level 20s or so.

Ahh, I was just referring to the characters themselves (i.e. faces), not so much the gear. I meant the gear is the thing that really changes you in this game, so they shouldn't worry about a "plastic surgeon" messing with persistent player identity like you might with an MMORPG.
