Is there a Next-Gen game you're afraid will be bad?

I love Metal Gear Solid. And like every other time a MGS game box-crawls closer to release, there's an unshakeable anxiety every time I think about the possibility of it being bad. Not saying it's right, but trying to temper my expectations for MGS V only leads to me again thinking: " but what if it's just not that good?"

Any games like that for you?

I tend not to think about future games in that way, but I would say having played GZ's that you don't need to worry about MGS5. It plays beautifully.

I think of all announced games, MGSV is one of those that will turn out great.

Currently, I think Evil Within might be a huge disappointment based on previews.

Xenoblade on the Wii U. I love the first game so much that if this one sucks I might jump off the window. I live on the 4th floor, so there's a remote chance I'll survive.

FFXV.
I just don't trust SE anymore.

Mirror's Edge 2 as well. For that i am afraid they might ruin the controls and make it more "automatic".

I totally get like that for every MGS despite never once being let down by the franchise.

Final Fantasy XV and Fallout 4 are my worries.

FFXV because it's a sort of last chance for the franchise to turn itself around, in my mind at least, as well as giving us an idea of how good or bad KH3 will be. And Fallout 4 because I grew tired of Skyrim real quick.

Fable Legends.

Not sure i'd use the word afraid and I enjoyed the bit of villain stuff I played but Lionhead made one spin-off - Fable The Journey which bombed, and now they're making another one which I just don't think is the sort of the game people want from the Fable world... instead of FL, imagine if early in 2015 Fable IV was coming instead, that would be been pretty cool and much better imo, but we'll see how it turns out.

The fact that they're making a multiplayer game concerns me for their new IP as well, I would like them to make RPGs, not multiplayer titles and I think their fan base would too. I hope they don't find that out the hard way.

Final Fantasy XV / Kingdom Hearts 3 / Type-0 HD
~ Square Enix really haven't made anything great on a non portable console since PS2.

Uncharted 4
~ Not bad, but worried it will go in a more darker direction and will lose its humour and charm

Ratchet and Clank Redux
~ Worried it might just be a little side project whilst Insominiac's A team works on Sunset Overdrive

this Metal Gear seems like Kojima is excited again by it and has something to say, I'm not getting a bad vibe from it at all.

I have concerns about The Order though...I mean, a Gears of War clone in a different setting with a great story is actually a really good game IMO. Problem is, it doesn't look nearly as fun as Gears of War everytime I've seen it. Hoping for the best though..

Driveclub because I love racing games and it looks gorgeous - could be let down by handling, AI, bad single player structure.. But having Forza Horizon 2 at the same time is a decent safety net :)

Uncharted 4 because of all the noise around this version, and I'm slightly concerned about the graphics quality at 60fps. plus I didn't love UC3.

Right. It's far less logical a fear than for other games, but it's still there. Nothing I can do about it, but that anxiety is still there and won't disappear until after the game's release. Just funny how this works.

I'm with you on this one. Not necessarily expecting it to be bad but more safe and uninspired.
Like Gears 3.5 with shiny graphics.

I can understand the concern but I think Gears sort of had that with Judgment (as much as I liked it, the game lacked certain things).

Im quite confident with Rod in charge its in safe hands.

Battlefield 5. It's been my favorite shooter over the years and it's on very thin ice now. Don't fuck this up, EA!

Thankfully my expectations are low because of all the shady, mediocre experiences that has permeated last generation. If anything, I would very concerned that the bad game would turn out to be worse.

New Zelda. For all the open world promise I still fear it's going to be high in accessibility and low on adventure, puzzles and challenge.

Star Citizen. Looks like a classic case of scope creep and "ambitious, yet rubbish"; and time will tell how the CryEngine works for large multiplayer battles. I hope it doesn't suck since it's the number one crowdfunded game and means a lot.

No Man's Sky. I love the seamless travel, exploration, and all that, but I am worried that it will be a shallow experience. If there is a PC version I hope it is mod friendly

I played Fable Legends at E3 2014 . . . and if my experience is any indication, your fears will become a reality. It's not that it's a bad game, it's that it's just not a Fable game. Should have gone with a fresh new IP for the 5v1 co-op/counter-op game play.

I'm more worried about it becoming too much of a point to point corridor shooter.

I want it to open up..not open world...but more fleshed out and alive.

More secrets, more treasure, more cool stuff.

Halo 5. I want to believe 343 can put out an amazing Halo, but Halo 4 was the worst Halo game to me.

I'm the opposite. I think Halo 5 is going to be one of the best. I can see 343 taking what the community didn't like in Halo 4 and actually implementing things that most of the players want to see.

As for the game I think will be a bust, that's The Order. Gameplay has looked boring thus far and the cinematic feel doesn't do much for me.

Witcher 3

I loved W1&2 and I want it to be even better than previous games, but it's CDPR's first project of this scale...

I'm not afraid that FFXV will be bad. I've had many years to make peace with that.

Kingdom Hearts 3 on the other hand, BBS and DDD were pretty damn fun to play, but salvaging that storyline... I'm mixed on whether the good will outweigh the bad with that game.

Evil Within. I'm already a bit wary at this point and I think a high profile bust of a horror game could be another nail in the coffin when it comes to bigger budget horror titles.

After that E3 demo, the combat looked lame and boring. I'm afraid its going to be a Skyrim 2.0 ( amazing world to explore with bad combat)

Also I have my doubts with Evil Within. I want to love it but I just can't at the moment.

This is mine as well. I'm hoping for the best... Mikami can do no wrong... right?

Devil's third has me very worried...

This. I trust Itagaki to deliver a good game, but what I've seen so far is so... meh. Maybe because I didn't want a melee/shooter hybrid action game from him, I wanted a full melee game even better than Ninja Gaiden 2.

Final Fantasy XV. I've seen a lot of people hyping it based on a trailer, and we all remember how great the FFXIII trailer was...I want it to be good, but I don't believe Square Enix can pull it off.

I'm in the same boat.. I used to be confident SE would put out great games. But obviously, hasn't. I'm nervous for FF XV, they've been working on this game for so long my expectations are high. I'm hoping KH3 will put the series to an end. No more side stories or handheld releases.. just put them all into 3 and end it. And end it well!

It is the opposite. I am worried that Scalebound is going to be too awesome to pass on.

Okay, jokes aside... I am only worried for DMC/SF's future. I am afraid Capcom will not understand where to go with them.

Dragon Age Inquisition
Shadow of Mordor

I am itching for some open world RPG action to lose myself in but I am worried they aren't going to live up to the hype.
