Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
Finally started playing The Witcher 2 and just finished the Prologue. But great scott, this game is really overwhelming, or is that just me? I can't get a hang of the combat, the story and all those different names go a bit over my head and the looting is...weird. Or maybe I should just stop hoarding stuff. Really dislike only being able to loot a container fully.

And that stealth section in the dungeon was just awfull.

It looks beautifull, though. And it's quite atmospheric. I'll certainly continue playing, but i'm going to take another look at the manual as well. :p

So, does anybody here live in South Korea? I won't name names but it would seem the GAFer who'd previously agreed to help me a couple of weeks ago no longer wants to.

Wasn't there some sorta game coming out soon which had you as a mage slinging spells in first person? I remember watching the trailer months ago but the name escapes me.

Can the new thread not have 100's of posts declaring the obvious?

Speaking of which, the August thread might have to start early, unless the mods think it's okay for another 50 (25?) pages or so.

You still after that football game? Just asking; I'm not from SK.

Man, I really need to actually look at what they're doing with the client in beta when I'm actually participating in it. The category system has gone from completely worthless to almost perfect now.

Was that really so hard Valve? :p

Used the multiple category system and filtering to create a category where I removed all F2P titles I haven't played, expansion entries and other obsolete entries, and it seems that I with that has exactly 100 titles in my library now
after 7 years as a Steam customer

Looking over the Trails screenshots page it's mostly GAFfer contributions. Even shots showing bugs ones like mine and Jawmuncher's are getting popular. What have we done!?!?!

http://steamcommunity.com/app/251150/screenshots/

That would fly in 2010, not now where we have things like Dark Souls II selling upward of 500,000 copies.

Let's look at it this way Watch_Dogs, you know that hyped to the hills Ubisoft game managed to almost get 50,000 concurrent players on Steam releasing day and date with every other release whilst Dark Souls II which was released just over a month behind the console versions managed a smidgen under 80,000. At the time of posting this Dark Souls II has 6 times the amount of people playing now over Watch_Dogs (though that game has dropped off a cliff since release weekend).

Tales of the Abyss is still my favorite Tales game. Probably in the minority there, but hey. And I got a Gamecube for Symphonia. Probably the only time I've bought a system specifically to play one game (though I eventually ended up finding some other GC games I enjoyed).

No I like Abyss too. Even bought the 3DS version to replay it.

Still waiting on more votes then Quiche is going to order it tomorrow.

CS:GO Server Count! Votes needed!

Vote Here!

I am looking to set up a CS:GO server with PrematureQuiche. We would like to know how big to make the server.

How are we going to pay for it? By iddling cards? Lol

It's really amazing how mismanaged if not downright suicidal Japanese companies are.
Each and every time some B-tier jRPG (no offense meant to Ghostlight, and I'm being generous here stating Idea Factory makes B-tier games) gets released on Steam it pretty much dominates the sales ranking for a few days with close to no advertisement.

How can you not take notice of that? Seriously...

I think they'd take notice better if Steam had a bigger presence in Japan. Selling outside of their home country is all well and good but I think selling to their primary target (Japanese people) is more important to many of them and I really can't blame them.
At least with XSEED and Ghostlight and other publishers, things are starting to move somewhat, with PC games made in Japan getting localized as well as ports of console games getting made for PC.

I'm disappointed with Sacred 3, not a fan of the cell shaded look. Sacred 2 was so good :(

well I don't know ... it's not TOO horrible ;)

Still haven't played Sacred 2 yet, let alone 3. Really enjoyed the first one, though. Do those crazy goblins appear in the later games, too? Those guys cracked me up. "Schniepel~!" xD

I loved the first one, but not the second one. The world felt way to big for what it had to offer which resulted in a lot of time spent running and encountering the same enemy types over and over again. Many of the quests were also plain boring. I also don't know exactly why anymore, but i remember not liking the combat at all because it felt way too slow with any of the classes. Never finished the game because of this.

Maybe poke thetrin about that?

Reminded me of this post from him:

Steam is surprisingly unknown here in Japan. I've heard executives say "What is Steam?" before. No kidding.

Steam's market penetration in Japan is also miniscule, so it becomes hard to convince people in Japan that it's worth bothering with.

Many times, you just have to say "We need to do Steam. Trust us."

"What is Steam?" is a question I've heard way too many times when asking with different people from the industry here in Japan.

And I'm not even joking.

Yep. It's happened to us as well.

Am I the only one getting a 404 error message on the idle_master page?
Sorry for the issue with Idle Master. I had two builds of steam-idle and accedientally uploaded the older version (yes, with SAM code, sorry) when I initially uploaded the first commit.

Since I'm travelling, I just went ahead and deleted the repo on github until I can get home and upload the proper version.

Again, really sorry for the trouble. I kinda feel like an ass right now.
Thanks. I should be back home either tomorrow night or Thursday morning and I'll re upload the proper code then.
