That's why I prefer when localization focus on making the script good, rather than completely accurately.
For plot, stay true. But for overall pacing and scriptwork, focus on good.

I always go with english unless its really bad. I just can't get used to Japanese voices even though I've been watching anime for years now. Jojo and Ippo are the obvious exceptions.

I used to go dub, and eventually found I generally prefer subs. But I love TTGL's dub, and generally recommend that to people.

Which is so rare that I applaud those situations. An anti example being Revengeance, which I know Im gunna get flack for, but the localizers made it alot more silly and wacky. And this comes off in the voice direction, though Sam is perfect in English because of this.
And that's great, people should do whatever they want, it's just that sub vs dub convos usually don't end well, even here I've seen them go messy

I know from experience that they NEVER go well. I don't think I've ever seen any kind of dub vs sub conversation end without someone insulting the entirity of the english language and in turn, being called a weeb. They can get really bad.

You're just handicapping yourself if you straight up refuse to even try one of them. I liked TTGL's subs better than its dub so I stuck with it, but I liked Bebop's dub better than its sub. So I got maximum enjoyment out of both.

I have spent most of my time watching dubs cause I like to be able to have it on why doing other things. Crunchy roll has since made me more used to watching subs.
I saw the entirety of it dubbed as a kid.

I think Basilisk is the only dub that I like, though I haven't watched any Bebop in a decade.
Like with controversial ones,
Goku's JP voice is his character, I can't imagine him any other way (and I grew up watching the dub multiple times over). (
I remember some heavy arguments with insults in OT1 involving Dragon Ball sub vs dub, yeesh that's a minefield.)
Geralt just rubs me the wrong way in English, like he's trying too hard to sound different.
But Laura Bailey is always dabes, when I heard Rise in Ultimax; perfection.
-Yeah I see people get called weeb for asking if there's dual audio, but then there were apparently people boycotting Trails in the Sky because it didn't have Japanese voices (only some battle phrases were voiced in the game iirc). Both sides get too nutty

I really don't care on what's better. Dubs are fine, because I never dedicate my full attention to anything. If the dub is terrible, I simply don't watch the show.

Nia felt like she was rushed in just to give Simon a love interest, but it did get better.
New Chie is fine deal with it nerd. Watching the Giant Bomb endurance run I vastly prefer new Chie compared to old Chie. I hope P5 is actual cutscenes that are voiced so I don't finish reading the text 10 seconds before the voices finish playing and I just skip to the next line.

I hope the next game has a talking main protagonist with a name so I don't have to make (mostly) pointless choices in cutscenes and not have everyone call me leader/senpai.

I think they put him back in in the next episode.

Chie's new VA was pretty rough at first, but she's gotten a lot better. I prefer her to old chie now. Especially because of this shit.

I refuse to deal with it! Also, new Kanji was the last straw that has made the whole thing pointless. Not that I played Arena with English voices anyway, since Johnny Yu Bosch is so unfitting that I had a headache every time his smug voice came out of my speakers.
Old Chie... I miss Old Chie so much. Arena would have been higher on my top ten list form that year if her voice returned. Not even joking.
Don't want to start a Voice acting war but to me her old voice sounds so bored and way too deep. Coming from someone who has dealt with both voice actors.
