Rika Suzuki (ex-CiNG) interested in continuing Kyle Hyde's story

NO: Have you ever thought of making another game about Kyle Hyde?
Suzuki: Kyle Hyde's story has not ended for myself, yet. However, we gave the right concerning Kyle Hyde to Nintendo as a publisher so I cannot make a new game featuring Kyle without any permission.

Having said that, I hope that I will be able to produce his story, which is still going on in myself, in some different way to be delivered to players.

Comes from a NintendON interview (in in English too...)

So guess that confirms Nintendo holds the right regarding Hotel Dusk. Probably Another Code, too.

Don't do this to me. I'd come to terms with this being the ONE of my favourite series that is dead and over.

Now it joins Zero Escape, Team ICO, Shenmue, Burnout, Good Suda51 games...

Dear god I am excited for a Kyle Hyde 3

I'm interested in you continuing Kyle Hyde's story too, Suzuki!

Please make it happen. Hotel Dusk and Last Window are two of my favorite DS games.

I don't see it continuing.

A good way to test interest is to release both games on Wii U VC. I wonder how they'll deal with some puzzles. Nintendo will have top figure it out with the DS Zeldas.

IIRC she wanted thought of a story where an old Kyle Hyde met with Ashley from Another Code, wish Nintendo continued with the story. Shame NA never got The Last Window but it's on DS so easily importable.

At least re-release the games via virtual console so people can play.

I have this game (well, the first one), I really keep meaning to check it out. Is it true it starts off pretty slow?

The game is pretty slow overall, but give it a try. If the characters and the plot intrigues you then the slow pace won't really matter that much. It has a nice atmosphere to it, plus the art looks fantastic imo.

Also the puzzles can definitely stump you if you aren't careful early. But once the train gets moving, you quickly fall in love with it.

I remember Hotel Dusk selling decently and even getting into the Touch Generations line of DS games.

It was always really perplexing that the US never got the sequel. That was the beginning of me really questioning Nintendo's localization efforts.

Yes, Last Window was localized for the EU only so there are some aspects of the dialogue which may not fit 100% with American readers. That said, I honestly had no problems and I don't see why the game couldn't have just been brought over with a couple of minor changes (if any changes at all, honestly).

As easy as Last Window is to import, I wish that wasn't the only way to obtain the game. It's sort of silly that our region only saw the first game when the second game exists, requires minimal to no effort to make playable for American audiences, and is arguably a better game in general.

one of Nintendo's least cool moves from last gen was letting Cing die. You can blame NOA directly for that I think as they declined to publish their last two games.

and yes I'm still bitter about missing out on Trace Memory 2.

When I imported Last Window I tweeted about it and I got a couple responses surprised that a Hotel Dusk sequel existed. It's a shame it was never brought over.

I'm not a businessman, but I wonder if they'd want to go a digital route or something if the cost for a new game is a concern.

This is fantastic news to wake up to. While not a guarantee, it fills my heart with joy.

I'd be more than willing to buy another Kyle Hyde game. I even imported Last Window when it never made it to North America. Great games with great stories, and I'd love to visit that world again.

Huh, Cing died because they got in to massive debt in relation to the size of their company. It was most likely the fault of their management, not Nintendo. It's not like they were a Nintendo exclusive publisher, they developed games for other publishers, like Little King's Story and Again.

I found it quite funny that Europe got Last Window and the US got Again, it's quite clear who won out in that scenario.

Man, I loved Hotel Dusk and Last Window, it's a shame what happened with Cing, they could at least release them on the Wii U VC. Yet another game completely ignored by Nintendo, the creators can't even make a Kickstarter for it because it's a Nintendo property.

Let's make things clear - CiNG is dead, and the new studio these people are at is a tiny outfit that does digital media stuff. I don't think they even make games anymore, just digital novels and stuff like that: http://www.bellwood-inc.jp/

Even if Nintendo allows them to use the IP, it'll probably be in the form of short stories rather than an adventure game.

I really liked Hotel Dusk (sequel was a disappointment) but I don't care that much about Hyde specifically. It would be great if she could find a way to get back into writing game plots, regardless of which franchise she's working on.

That's perfectly fine.

I'm Ok with that. I just need to know the ending of the Kyle Hyde story :(

Dayum. For a person who has been developing games since the first Dragon Quest, she looks like she hasn't aged a day.

Also, free Kyle Hyde!

I thought Cing's games were mildly successful? That's enough to warrant at least a sliver of hope.
