Resident Evil HD Remaster confirmed for PS3/PS4/360/XB1/PC

ArtHands

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
i sort of think this is a precursor to an hd version of zero and updated re4. they may be testing the waters, the deals ran out at different times, or both, or neither.
But we already have a RE4 HD Edition for consoles and Ultimate HD Edition for pc

It is a remake and thus should implement today's standards otherwise it's just broken gameplay with a nice coating.

Knowing Capcom, if this weren't a cheap as fuck remaster, it wouldn't suprise me if they actually tried something like this. Over the shoulder camera, cover system, co-op etc.

they are, but they let you choose which way you want to cut it.

But they give you 4:3 option anyway

Pathetic cutting techniques made to give you the illusion they're doing something other than upscaling existing GameCube assets.

Should just be 4:3 and nothing else.

I played the original RE multiple time and I have played the remake multiple times. This news is really unexciting to me especially looking at how they are handling it. Obviously no re-rendered backgrounds and the pan and scan approach to 16:9 is a real bummer. I could only see myself getting this if it's really cheap, like 10€ cheap.

The backgrounds will probably even look worse in 16:9 because they have to zoom in.

See, I could see Capcpom releasing them separately to milk it, hell there doing with Monster Hunter now with the 'G' versions.

Is that analog stick image just telling us that they're still the same then?

Excuse my ignorance, just catching up on this thread.

No, you can choose: tank controls or 3D controls.

Apparently options are a bad thing now.

Not sure about having the option 2 control schemes. I'm inclined to think that it drastically changes the experience. Tank controls added to the tension and challenge. If there are no gameplay changes, then won't modern RE controls make it easy mode?

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
We really need the comparison pics in the OP, people come in here "HOLY SHIT, HD REMASTER IT MUST LOOK AMAZING, THANK YOU CAPCPOM!!!"

Well no it sadly doesn't.

Alright GAF, Resident Evil Remake bombed on the gamecube. We HAVE to make sure this one is a success.

Do the right thing and buy two copies at least :)

Everyone is too busy crying and bitching about visuals to be worried about having the best Resident Evil coming to almost every modern platform.

It should do fine due to the number of platforms it is coming out on but knowing capcom they would probably want 5 million sales or something.

bubububu ARTISTIC PAINT DAUBS FILTER :D :D
Keep telling yourself this as you go to bed tonight, maybe you'll wake up not seeing the difference! :D

Maybe the pictures we are seeing now are a bad pictures and the Background in the final game will be better and true HD.... :( !?
We can hope Capcom are listening and actually bother loading up the pre-rendered backgrounds on their old Windows XP pc's and bother to render them again in 1080p :p

Capcom just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after seeing those upscaled backgrounds, is not going to want to purchase this "Remaster" for either system, nor will they purchase any of Capcom's "remasters". This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Capcom has alienated an entire market with this move.

Capcom, publicly apologize and re-do those backgrounds properly or you can kiss your business goodbye.

It's not a ,,remake'' and has the best gameplay in the series. But don't worry, I'm sure RE7 will have more than enough modern gaming shit tropes for everyone again.
