Never heard of that before and i'd love to have a link (pun?).
If they have a new MM for their next handheld as a launch title i'll really die <3

I can't seem to find the exact interview. But basically he says OoT wasn't remade just for the heck of it. It was remade to showcase the 3D and graphical capabilities of the 3DS. TWW was also justifiably remade to showcase the new shaders and graphical capabilities of the Wii U. Then he says the original MM released with a hardware add-on and SS also released with a hardware add-on.

So basically, we won't see a MM remake that is justified until we get a new hardware platform to sell it with...or a new hardware add-on for the 3DS or Wii U.

:\ (Vitality sensor?)

Also they were choosing between MM or ALttP for the 3DS and Shigeru really wanted ALttP. So we got ALBW instead of MM. And now Aonuma is being sly with us about the rejected MM project.

Please release the remake on Wii U. Please release the remake on Wii U. Please release the remake on Wii U.

...It's not happening I know.

Considering that a tease is like getting your hopes up way too much. That is just ridiculous. It is probably just part of this tradition, and it definitely is at least part of the tradition

How is Majora's Mask GAF?

I played Wind Waker for the first time on the WiiU, and I loved Twilight Princess when it came out.. but I tried Skyward Sword recently and just didn't like it.

Should I be hyped if it does happen?

It's the most bizarre and interesting Zelda ever made. It also has the most personality.

So yes.

I mean... yeah. A Gamecube game that's art style allows it to be especially timeless. If it happens, it'll be a 3DS texture upgrade like OOT3D.
They made new models with more polygons and animations. It was a remake rather than a remaster, I still don't get why people still think otherwise.

We already know it's coming guys. There has been so much Majora's Mask acknowledgement in the past couple of years. I can't imagine it not happening.

You'd think they had canceled Majora's Mask, the way people are reacting.

This isn't a Last Guardian situation. You already played Majora's Mask, exactly as it was intended.

I'm going through Majora's Mask for the first time right now. Great game, but I have no urge to play a remake nor would I ever buy a remake. It looks good enough as it does now. This is perfectly fine. It doesn't need to be any different or be upgraded. I'd rather they spend time and money making a brand new Zelda.

So, yeah the background is actually from OOT, so if anything this picture is just referencing three Zelda games (OOT, MM, and TP) and acting as a homage to each one; it's not a tease.

Also sorry to burst your bubbles, but if a remake happens it'll be on the the 3DS, as there's no reason for them to not use the engine and models from OOT3D as that's already like 80% of what MM3D will be.

Why so much teasing over a remake?

Probably and this is a guess in the dark so there is every chance I could be wrong but what if Zelda U is related to Majora's Mask hence why the teasing.

I mean just because Link sealed away the evil in the mask in Majora's Mask doesn't mean it can't return and fall into the hands of the king of evil aka Ganondorf.

Watch me be wrong because I have never been right when it comes to guessing the Zelda series.

I wish Nintendo could reference their own history without fans asking for a remake, a new Smash character announcement or something to that degree. It gets kind of annoying.

Majora's Mask remake or not, this is a very cool piece of artwork.

It wasn't rejected. They always said they wanted to follow up OoT 3D with something new.

The attempts to remake ALttP fit in with that philosophy once it became its own game.

These sorts of things don't take much in the way of resources. They have outsource to Grezzo and they make their budgets back (and then some). It doesn't hurt a new Zelda being made; if anything it keeps the series' profile up so the new Zelda can benefit from it.

And there are a lot of performance issues a 3DS version could improve upon, particularly the framerate.

Please no MM3D, I want an HD version.
There are plenty of reasons why they'll do a 3DS version. For starters it's much cheaper and easier, an HD remake would be a lot of work and could gel badly with the game's art style. A OoT3D style remake has a lot less variables, it's easier to make a game that's faithful to the original, but include plenty of advantages to make it worthwhile, the portability alone is a big selling factor.

Yeah it's just a remake of a good Zelda, not sure about all these teasing. Unless......... Zelda U is a Majora sequel or (better yet) prequel about the Ancient Tribes? Which would make my hype level exploooode

MM is more of an experience over a game for me.

I'd rather play on a TV than on a handheld. Aonuma mentioned that MM fans were hardcore and thus need an extremely closely watched "remake." I don't think Aonuma would let Grezzo take OoT assets to make MM. I think he was hinting that it'd have to be more than that.

(In which case...I want a re-remake of OoT as well.) >___>

If they remake it, maybe I'll give it another shot sometime. I absolutely hated MM the first time I tried it. But, I also have an extreme hate of games with time management elements. So, maybe I shouldn't. On top of that, the game just had crazy levels of weirdness that no other Zelda has. It might be a great game, but maybe it shouldn't have been made as Zelda game.

I think you can learn to have a love/hate relationship with MM.

I don't really care for half the dungeons. But everything else about the game is ingenious in my mind.

it's so long overdue I don't even care anymore. forget MM, just show some zelda u gameplay ffs.

So can Majoras Mask never be used again without it being seen as a tease for a remake? Did Midna and Zant in Hyrule Warriors tease Twilight Princess HD?

That sounds like a bad fanfiction, no offense.

I dont think this means anything, but nice artwork.

Judging by that artwork, what if they made a new Majora's Mask that was also a sequel to Twilight Princess?

I'm not crazy I swear.

I'm personally tired of remakes. I rather see something similar to A Link Between Worlds where it's almost like a retelling of the legend..

Aw man why you gotta hurt ma feeling like that? ;_;

Nah it's okay.

Pfftwhahaha! Link Between World was practically a Link to the Past remake.

I would rather if they don't repeat Link Between Worlds, it's my least favourite Zelda game.
