The original rumor is whats quoted. The Ridley and other stuff is tacked on. Plus, I'm pretty sure the ESRB CSS wold be the final one. Everything in the real original leak has been confirmed in the picture leak wxcept for Koopaling alts (very likely with that trophy pic) and Alph alt.
Unless there is DLC for real, then those characters like IC and Lucas really are cut.
Edit: Whelp, I gladly ate crow there. But still the other stuff in the leak is stacked on just so you know.

So, given we have a couple of leaks that seem to both be confirmed and contradict one another, I think the below is a reasonable timeline:
1. Near the start of the project, devs begin to scope in which characters they'll implement
1b. This list includes names such as Chorus Men, Chrom, PacMan, "a pokemon from X/Y", and more
2. This list eventually makes it way out - somehow - and becomes the Gematsu leak
3. Work continues. Characters prototypes are built and ultimately discarded. Some characters likely receive a major rework, others cut entirely
3b. This new list of characters includes Chrom being wrapped up into Robin, Dixie Kong, Ridley, Bowser Jr., and more
3c. I'd speculate this list was accurate as early as this year
4. This eventually becomes the leak as seen in that forum post from July
5. Project continues and the roster is finalized, likely around E3
5b. Dixie is cut, Ridley reworked into a stage hazard, Chorus Kids cut, etc.
6. This eventually comes the ESRB leak, and likely is a finalized roster
I'd further speculate that everything regarding DLC is fake. There's no common thread between the leaks and they're mostly fanservice characters. More damning, there's no proof the game even supports DLC, let alone pictures of the actual characters
I'd say this is the final roster now and forever

Don't know if it's fake. I doubt the Chorus Men would have a 3D design as they'd look pretty weird. 2D makes sense, like G&W. Plus, one of them is reacting to getting hit by Mega Man. That's detail.
If each CM takes damage separately, despite being a single character, it'd be really easy to accumulate those percentage points really fast. Interesting...

I'm so happy with the potentioal newcomers that were leaked, the ONLY thing i care about is Ice Climbers now.
If they're back eventually, i'll be 100% happy with Smash 4's roster.
