First tragedy, then farce.
Is there a way to quick suspend subscriptions for Comixology?

Like, take a one month hiatus for DCs dumb event I don't care about? Or do I have to cancel all of them and then resubscribe in October?

Balls. So in the last few weeks, I've lost Avengers Undercover, Superior Foes and now Secret Avengers? And of course, Hawkeye is ending whenever they get around to it. Invaders, I'm ambivalent about, I tried the first issue and didn't carry on with it.

Gotta make room for more Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers books. I eagerly anticipate Determined Drax #1, Gregarious Gamora #1, All-New Hawkeye #1 (by the turned-away-at-the-door-from-the-Eisner Awards team of Tom Taylor and Greg Land) and A Second Rocket Raccoon Book, Because You'll Buy What We Tell You To #1.

I like Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers books.

You seem frustrated, pick up a good She-Hulk, Elektra or Black Widow book and calm down.

I didn't like the fact Secret Avengers was being written like a hawkeye/ funny book.. I wanted it be the way Remender was doing a catastrophe of the month comic story.

also, I wouldn't mind if DnA wrote any of those cosmic books.. plus a good Kate Hawkeye book would be pretty tops.

Elektra, Secret Avengers, All New Ultimates, All New Ghost Rider were all books I was on from the start. Mass extinction event.

All New Ultimates deserves it.

Whut, Secret Avengers also confirmed for cancelation?

This is the Reboot we suspected?!?

Saw that coming...you get around the 20k mark at Marvel, its the kiss of death.

The only exception to this rule is PAD's X-Factor, which has floated around 20k for YEARS but keeps going.

they just need to put the damn Ultimate Universe out of its misery at this point, its well past the point of irrelevance, Ult. Spidey aside

I read Black Widow, it's decent but nothing amazing, Noto is carrying the book on his back. I'm looking forward to the Anderson Cooper cameo issue. I tried She-Hulk, but I didn't like it. Before anyone says it, it wasn't the art. I'm not crazy about Soule as a writer, guy is solid but not spectacular, and his scripts have a workman-like quality to them. I haven't tried Elektra, but it's pointless now with the cancellation. Maybe I'll get the trade.

The next volume of Secret Avengers will probably be something like All-New Captain America and the Agents of SHIELD #1. Wretched.

New Avengers 24 cover:

Captain Britain joins the illuminati along with that dude in the black jacket. Any ideas on who he is supposed to be?

No Dr. Strange or Reed Richards shown. Looks like they jumped ship some time after Namor was kicked off.

That probably is Amadeus Cho.

if they are going to be the team that stops the incursions.. well I think they are much more positive team, than someone like Richards or Strange.

The only marvel title that I would be disappointed in losing is Secret Avengers, otherwise it seems like it is finally time to trim down my Marvel pull list.

So how is Jack Kirby's The Demon story-wise?
I absolutely love all the art I've seen from it, and if the story's pretty good too, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get that hardcover soon.

Depends on how much you like the older stuff I guess. I recall it being a decent mix of horror alongside your usual comics stuff. My brain is having trouble remembering too much of the stuff that isn't
the fear demon getting an awesome reference down the line in Swamp Thing
, but it's a neat little chunk of comics history if you're down for that.

At least this just came in the mail today:

Alex Ross box art for the Blu-Ray box itself is awesome. I have a pretty large unintentional Alex Ross collection.

Some G.I.Joe fans that are also Star Wars fans might be screaming soon.

Why?

Karen Traviss is going to do some stories for them.

Captain Britain is a good pick for dealing with the incursions considering he's supposed to be guardian of the omniverse or whatever.

So Ultimate Universe is now Miles Morales only?

Right up until Ultimate Universe and 616 have an incursion and Miles escapes.

I have a bit of a bias, but I love it. It's a horror/supernatural book and Kirby creates a fascinating world for Jason Blood to exist in. Plus you get the first appearance and stories about Klarion!

She's doing the big "The Fall of G.I. Joe" arc I think. I'm predicting a Mike Costa on Transfomers-esque Dork Age. None of the IDW Joe stuff compares to the Hama glory years and America's Elite (which had an AMAZING ending). Still one of my favourite covers:

The teaser poster is neato though:

speaking of GI Joe, I hope ya'll are reading that Scioli GI Joe vs Transformers book cuz its like the comic book version of all those childhood times you played with action figures

I have a feeling that for what has to be the first time ever, one of my votes for top 3 will actually make it.

All-New Ghost Rider
All-New Ultimates
Teen Titans

When I made the comment that all those All-New Marvel Now books would be cancelled before the Time Runs Out countdown ended, I didn't think the cancellation notice would come 2 days later :p

Awesome! I'll definitely try to get it soon! That really looks like something I'll enjoy, and I really need to read something by Kirby.
I'm half-tempted to put together an order right now with that and another volume of Hellboy...

It's really wonderful. You can never go wrong with Kirby.

So, I went to a library that's slightly farther away but quite a bit bigger than the two I usually go to. They had a much bigger comics selection than I'm used to (and also, different stuff from the stuff I've seen at the other two libraries before, obviously) and I may have gotten a little carried away...

I'm so excited to get to reading them. Vimanarama, Underwater Welder, and One Soul in particular.
Also, picked up Eternals just because I was looking at Kirby books right before I left. I know nothing about Gaiman's take on it, but I hope it's good.

The only bummer about all this is it means I'm going to have to take a brief vacation from Doom Patrol.

Thanks for the further encouragement! Now I'm right on the edge of putting in another IST order...

Don't sleep on OMAC or Kamandi (although the first Kamandi omnibus is out of print, the first 27 issues are on CMX) either.

I'll definitely look into OMAC! Would you mind giving me a quick summary of why it's amazing (besides the art, obviously)?

Tell us how Lost at Sea is. I really didn't like Seconds, so I'm wondering if Bryan Lee O'Malley's first effort was decent.

Five Ghosts volume 1 is cool.

Have you been to the new library downtown, Kipp? Something about the dome being so shiny it risked melting things caught in the glare makes it sound like it should have a good comics section.

I just had to email IST and ask them where the fuck my books are. There has been no movement on my Hellboy order since I placed it, and they took the money out of my account.

Set in the future, average Joe Buddy Blank is granted the incredible powers of O.M.A.C. the One Man Army Corps! Thanks to self aware satellite Brother Eye, Blank is able to transform into OMAC and assist the Global Peace Agency in fighting evil everywhere. It's just a fun punchy action comic that only lasted eight issues before it was canceled.

Kirby later revealed in Kamandi that Buddy Blank was Kamandi's great grandfather, thus tying the two series together.

Will do! Scott Pilgrim is one of my all-time favorites, so I've been meaning to read Lost at Sea for a long time. I'm definitely really curious to see how it is, too.

No, I haven't yet! I totally didn't even know that building was a library. That's pretty awesome though. Haha
I'll make a point to check it out next time I go downtown.
If you haven't been to the Dove Library branch of the Carlsbad Library though, that's where I just was and it was probably twice the selection of the Oceanside Library. Definitely worth the extra 10ish minutes driving.

Oof. That's such a bummer. Luckily I don't even plan to start any new comics (besides these library ones I just got) until after Doom Patrol, so I'm not in any huge rush to receive my orders, but that's pretty lame.
