If she's hanging out with that personality vacuum X-23, she's definitely not having fun.

Gonna be so interesting what places this month. There was tons of good stuff from all the big publishers.

Please be The Fade Out. Please do the right thing. Regardless of how awesome Low is, I doubt it will place. I think only two or three of us read this title.

Just finished reading Geoff Johns' Shazam. I wasn't interested in it at all before reading it, but I saw it at the library and figured I might as well pick it up since I've heard quite a few people here saying it's great and I've never read anything by Geoff Johns (or any Shazam books, for that matter).
But anyways, I really enjoyed it! It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I especially loved the first two-thirds of it with the more down-to-earth stuff. The highlight of the book was definitely right after Billy got his powers and he
goes around the city with Freddy abusing his powers to get free snacks.
Definitely glad I checked that out.

Best parts of the book:

Gonna be rich
The Shazam Family
"Uh, get him?"

I haven't read much from the New 52 but I am so glad I picked this up a few months ago. It is such a fun story.

I don't mind (about the "anime" style, I mean). There's never enough, so I'll save anything so long as it's not Sonic "gotta go fast" levels of artistry.

...

Even then, maybe.

Oh I actually like that particular piece. It's pretty good. It just reminded me of like, the japanese X-men series, a little bit. Which lead to the next thought.

Sorry mang, liked The Fade out but not top 3 worthy for me.

I think the problem was that the format may have played a role in how well it was received. I know my interest shot up and I enjoyed it more in the magazine format.

Me either. Some real contenders this month. Until Remender naturally crushes everyone with one of his juggernauts

I doubt Sixis will make it on any of our lists. It's going to be a nightmare.

Remender's regular books will continue during that shit though right?

Stuff like Fade Out strikes me as the sort of stuff Image puts out that will get amazing hype for the first half dozen issues before it inevitably falls off the radar and the indie crowd focuses their attention on the latest Image #1s. And I don't mean that in a bad light, just so few Image titles seem to maintain buzz after the first trade.

Yup. Low and Black Science will continue to blow us all away.

There's is way too much truth here than I can handle. I think you summed up Image in a nutshell.

Man, Rat Queens has fallen off the map. The 6 week schedule has killed it for me. Sometimes they even miss that date. 6 weeks between issues for a book like that does not work. First trade is great though .

Just finished reading the first 7 issues of the new Ms. Marvel and subbed on Comixology. I hope it is doing well sales wise because it is easily my favorite of the current Marvel runs. So much fun! Kamala is a really funny character and the interactions with her family feel very honest.

I dig it.

You know what? I'd forgotten that was on my pull list. Shit, when was the last one that came out? What was the last issue number? I honestly can't remember.

It's at like, it's 6th series of reprints for the first issue, and is currently at like 39k. It's safe.

They won't cancel it. Marvel will be scrutinized for quite some time if they do. The book is a gift and a curse. If it ever does get canceled, you'll see Ms Marvel lead in some sort of team book shortly after.

Read the first issue of The Fade Out today. Was really impressed by the story and drawing immensely. Not sure why I have not read any of Ed Brubaker work before, I love the noir genre
I have ordered the first volume of Fatale.

Nah, they wouldn't be afraid to cancel it if it bombed. I'd say it'd probably be given one freebie relaunch like Captain Marvel, or a slightly lower cancellation cap.

VELVET. Book is flawless.

CNN: "Did Marvel Cancel A Book About Muslim Women?"

Fox: "Marvel Cancels Book About Terrorism. Congress approves."

And you thought Spider Woman Bootygate was ridiculous. This will be worse.

Rat Queens

6:May 7th

7:July 16th

8:September 13th

Slowed to a bloody crawl.

Announcing the animated TV show after the 2nd issue still rubs me the wrong way. It feels calculated.

Yep. And it will never materialize. Broads just started cosplaying after on issue too? Get your head out of the sand Image.

Yeah the cosplaying was almost immediate.

I love the book when it releases but the timing is killing it. 3 issues in 5 months is annoying.

Pick up the Criminal volumes instead. Fatale is mainly (and possibly only) interesting in the context of the other Brubaker/Phillips books and as much as I liked the individual issues, it somehow ends up less than the sum of its parts.

I bought X-Statix yesterday...... so now it sits on the shelf as backlog until I really feel inspired to read it.

My current backlog:

ALEC: The Years Have Pants (A Life-Size Omnibus)
Are You My Mother (GN)
The Books of Magic (2, 4)
Fun Home (GN) 1/1
Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth
Lucifer (TP 4 - 9, 11)
The Nao of Brown
The Red Diary | The Re[a]d Diary
Sex Criminals (TP 1)
Solar: Man of the Atom (TP 1)
Temperance
X-Statix Omnibus
Zot!

And around sixty-ish volumes of manga.

Yeah its a great story. Check out Trinity War and Forever Evil, both are really good arcs.

Guys and Gals remember there were two great harley Quinn issues this month. Number 9 in particular was quite good. Don't forget it because it came out early in the month. :D

It's one of the best books Marvel have ever released, I would suggest moving it up in your backlog if you can. At the very least read the first issue and decide, it's especially amazing considering that it was a "normal" team book the month previous and then it goes crazy.

You should also move Zot up in your queue IMO.

You make me feel really bad that I ordered discounted Spider-Man Clone Saga Collections over the X-Statix Omni :(

Wasn't the dolor updated for yhe omni? Got it for twenty five sign sealed delivered last year....

25$? that's like £15...

It's £77.55 on amazon here! I wish we had better access to good deals for comics in the UK especially for larger books. Even dedicated comic stores in Scotland sell Omni's closer to RRP than not.

Kipp

but I am taking tiny steps forward
prolly the one written by X

I completely forgot about that one. I actually totally dug it. Haha

Also, this talk about X-Statix reminded me that I've been wanting to re-read the "X-Statix Presents Dead Girl" mini.
