Since I'm junior and I cant start my own thread...
Can you sell me this game GAF?
I mean, tell me why is it so good that so many people is multiple-dippping. I'm really curious. the first thing I expect is its potential to be in the VS mode with friends, but how does it stand as 1P game against other games like Mortal Kombat (2011) or Tekken?
Thanks.
Its just a really really fun game. I like the counter system, even though i've always sucked a bit at it, i like the over the top nature of the characters and attacks..the stage hazards which have always been a staple of the series is back...its DOA. If you liked the other DOA games, you'll like this one too. If you never played, its a great fighting gamer series.
It's bonkers to me that people think DOA4 looked better than 5.
DOA5's characters were gorgeous. The meshes need no change when they move to PS4. They're already great.
I agree that DOA5 models are a HUGE upgrade to previous versions, and you can tell they maximized the polygon count of the models in favor of everything else. But even so, you can't really say the meshes don't need ZERO changes.
There's still the issue with legs clipping through clothes and other body parts. The shader quality, while 7th gen quality, still needs upgrading to actually look in place with next gen standards, and the actual polygons themselves for the models need to be increased a bit, or adaptive tessellation needs to be put in, because there are still sharp edges even on the naked limbs, which stand out like a sore thumb, and would do so even more at a higher visual fidelity.
I hope they take the time to properly address those issues along with texture work, the asset quality of the stages in general, and and overall once over of polish. Assuming they started after DOA5, there's been enough time to work on those updates if it comes out next year.
