Speaking of Richard Simmons.. there was a gay parade in the French Quarter today, and one of the troupes that was walking/dancing was the Richard Simmons Rampage!

Sacrifice are Berserk fanbooks by Inaki Matsumoto (circle name Killer Bambi), a "bara" veteran (had a lot of stories published in the earliest Kinniku Otoko, back in 2002-2003). She's a 40 something lady, sort of motherly I guess. Wasn't expecting that! Also, she wasn't in the gay comic corner, her booth was in the other hall actually. Very popular among fujoshi too, lots of stuff were sold out.

I did get Gai Mizuki's newest release, "Love over Love" (link to NSFW pixiv preview), 3rd row, 4th from the left. The older books and the PC games were sold out. He signed my book too! I got autographs from Shoutaroh Kojima (who's my favourite artist by far and the reason I went to Japan basically), Kazuhide Ichikawa (he speaks English very well and is such a nice person, his booth was right next to Kojiman's too so we chatted a lot - he's friends with a long time American friend of mine too), Gai Mizuki (not that approachable actually, he had like a 5 person staff in his booth, I suppose he's really big in Japan or something), Inaki Matsumoto and Takeshi Matsu.

Tagame does some nice stories, but the majority of his work is way too hardcore for me too. His best manga IMO are Virtus (the gladiator series) and the ones that were published in his English compilation.

I'm an old time "bara" fanboy too, I'll show the remainder of my collection later. Lots of very old stuff... those were the good days! Gay manga were one of the things that helped me the most with my sexuality struggles back when I was a confused youth in college. Might sound silly, but it's true.
Wow, that sounds really awesome. I'd love to go to Japan someday and just go wild buying all the bara I can get my hands on. Do you speak the language?

Getting to meet all those artists must of been quite cool. Was it some sort of convention you went to? Kojima is pretty much my favorite bara artist right now too, but there are so many amazing artists out there, I just wish there was more of a way to support them in North America. (There's tons of great bara artists here too, but it's still very underground. You can't really walk into a comic shop and get any bara here, domestic or otherwise. At least not in my experiences.)

Too bad that Mizuki's games were all sold out. I've always wanted to try those. It would of been nice to get some impressions. When you say "not approachable", do you mean he acted rudely towards you (I hope not), or just that he was distant? It would be pretty disappointing to learn he's not that friendly to fans.

Sorry for so many questions. XD

(Also, in other bara news, I'm SO glad Masanori is starting to make some stuff again. He was the artist that really got me into the genre. Hunks Work Shop literally opened my eyes to a whole other world.)

JLaw's pics are beautiful. I know she must be feeling really ashamed and uncomfortable, but really, they show very well her natural beauty. Of all the nude leaks, she triumphs as the best.

So there's this gay-themed Brazilian short called I Don't Want to Go Back Alone (youtube link) from a few years ago that was made into a feature film last year, it's about a gay blind teenager and it's really cute (the short, I didn't see the movie), do watch it if you haven't.

Woah, I just realized something. How do you know what you're attracted to if you're blind? o_O

I mean, there are plenty of other things to consider in that regard (voice, personality, etc.), but I think the visual part of it would play a big role, right? I mean, how would I be attracted to men if I don't know what a man is supposed to look like?

Sorry if this sounds dumb or offensive. I'm genuinely curious.

Well, I mean, the same could be said about any straight person.

How would a man know he's attracted to women if he can't see them?
How would he know what about a woman he's attracted to without the visual part?
etc.

Plus... it should go without saying, but, if one is blind, then your statement that "the visual part it would play a big role" would, obviously, be erroneous.

And even beyond that, even for people who are able to see - sometimes "the visual part" doesn't play a big role, regardless.

I brought up a gay example because we're in a gay thread. Of course it'd be the same for straight blind people lol.

Anyways, I just think it's interesting to think about. The way a blind person would be attracted to someone would be totally different from someone who can see (and you can apply the same sort of reasoning to people with other kinds of disabilities), and that's pretty fascinating.

No, don't fret.. if you have this power to summon people - you can use it for good!

Try summoning a horde of Seann William Scotts to our city next.. or Andy Roddicks.. or Eric Deckers!

Lol there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Man his career fizzled and died.

Hi everyone! Finally back at the city! Man I missed it >.<

Lately I've been having really close conversations with y mother and another members of my family, so I'm thinking of coming out. My brother SUSPECTS something, but he seems supportive, so it's a relief. I'm reading tons of books and manuals and whatevers - and I mean TONS -, and my personal situation is going rather well, so I think I'll do this big step soon*!

*soon means from September to December

But enough with the whole egocentric-stuff! Is anyone EXCITED with the Persona 5 teaser? MC looks real cute
it reminds me of a good-looking version of myself, what with the glasses and the hairstyle

I seriously hope this time we get a Jun Kurosu-like romantic option. I mean, NOT like Jun (I hated him) but... yeah.

Hope everything goes well, NickWright!

Were there some Persona related news?
I'm not really up-to-date, haven't looked much on the Gaming in a while now.

Thank you! It's a big step but I've had harder experiences in life, so I'm confident it'll turn out great.

Aaaaand yes, this thread pretty much has everything we've learned on P5 today.

My crazy religious cousin is at it again with her homophobic crap on Facebook D:

Recent developments back home in Colombia have brought same sex couples adoption to the headlines of newspapers because recently courts granted adoption for a lesbian couple, the kid was the biological child of one of them so the result didn't come as a surprise, but many see it as a step forward to adoption by same sex couples in general. You can already adopt as a single parent whether you are gay or straight.

This of course made all the religious nuts to start their hateful campaigns again. My cousin I fear is just following a much bigger organized movement. I hope the don't get to do anything. But she keeps citing crazy stuff like that crap about a kid adopted by same sex parents who was abused and I think is completely made up, it comes from crazy sources like Exodus and all that shit. I never expected to see their awful influence reach my country.

And in other news, we have two lesbian ministers, who are a couple. I'm kind of shocked about the whole thing, I never expected my country to suddenly become so progressive.

I understand very little Japanese. It was enough to barely communicate with the artists, since they made an effort to understand, heh.
I went to Summer Comiket. Day two had basically all the "bara" artists. I went to day one too, had some good yaoi artists like Pomatobatake - the artist that made the Thor/Hercules books. Day three was mostly kemono (furry) so I didn't go.
Gai Mizuki wasn't in his booth when I bought his books, only his troupe of supporters. I went to the other hall to get Inaki Matsumoto and then came back to Mizuki's booth, he had arrived but was standing on the back, not in front, selling his stuff like the other artists. When I asked for his autograph, they got him to come, but he was kinda tired-looking. He certainly wasn't rude, far from it, just seemed distant. He also wasn't in the "bara" corner, he was in another space a few rows away, right next to Mentaiko actually. And he did laugh when I said it was hot (it was over 34 degrees, seriously, I was sweating buckets), I guess he was just tired. He didn't treat me badly or complained at all. :)

Masanori is great, he was my gateway to "bara" too - heck, this term didn't even exist when I found his website looking for Rival Schools yaoi (Daigo and Hayato were the sexiest game characters at the time to me) around 2001, 2002? And Hunks Work Shop is definitely one of the best gay things ever made in Japan, I hope someday I'll be able to play it and fully understand what's going on.

So I decided to stop having soft drinks and eat better starting this month. So naturally I went yesterday to burger king and had a big whoper and a big pepsi that I refilled when I left, Hopefully my last in a long time.

Well, I just had lunch with a big glass of water but now I'm feeling the withdrawal. I don't know if I'm craving the sugar or the caffeine but I know that if I don't go cold turkey this will be a lost cause. In the meantime I'm still holding strong.

Well whatever you say to your cousin will fall on deaf ears, but I didn't understand how much the whole adoption of children whas a non-problem until I meet a lesbian couple in wich one of the girls was married with children and was seeing her partner on the down low.

If he believes that gay people can't raise children you have to remind him that they have been doing it for forever even living in their dishonest, unhappy marriages. It's just that now they have the possibility of doing it with their preferred partners and out in the open.

Have you tried coffee? Like everything it gets better once you get used to it and milk can "soften" it. Different roasts can also help if you for instance find it too acidic (go darker).

One downside if you want to lose weight is that (for me anyway) it can boost apetite or more specifically boost hunger. On the bright side coffee is the biggest source of antioxidants for the average American :p

Well, my situation is a little more complicated. I do like coffe but I hate the artificial sweetener, and just pouring sugar on the coffe defeats the pourpose of the whole deal.

The other thing is that I'm trying to lose a little weight because a couple of months ago and after a couple visits with my sister the doctor. She told me that my blood pressure was high and she put me on medication, and last week she told me the medication helped but not as much as she expected so I decided to break some bad habits starting today before trying some stronger medicine, and well the coffe will just make the blood pressure higher.

Edit: ^^^^^^^ P4G and Vita! You'll thank me and everyone else who raves about the game.

I come from a place where sweet coffee is very rare so I didn't think of that :p
I was about to say unthinkable, but not after all the Starbucks clones where milkshakes with a drip of espresso are considered coffee.

Blood pressure wise you could gradually reduce your intake of caffine, but going cold turkey is also possible. If you drank a lot the headache will suck, but thankfully not for long.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Did you sell it before P4G was released?

After, but I had no interest in P4G to pick it up.

I know a lot of people bought a Vita for P4G, but I bought it for the support I thought Sony would give it akin to the PSP, and that never happened. I even bought the pre-launch bundle and created a wallpaper thread. I was one of it's biggest supporters early on and got burned. Never again.

I'm not completely up to speed of the early release schedule, but even Jack Tretton sounded sad about the support this E3. It wasn't financially viable especially compared to the PSP which would have outsold the 3DS in all regions but Japan. Assassin's Creed was one of the biggest sellers with just 600K WW.

I never owned any PS console before it so for me it's amazing to play tons of PSP games for almost no cost as well as MGS 1-3. Smaller games like Spelunky and TxK are also awesome.

Seriously, if you can watch all the interactions and stuff without ANY of the actual dungeon crawling/turn based fighting stuff, you'll be....golden
Hey, the fighting was awesome! *performs all out attack*

No problem. Good that you are so sure that it'll turn out great.

Completely missed that thread. Good news though for every PS4 owner. :)

I also heard something about the Revelation sequel. Interesting. Hoping for more Sailor Chris. :D

I actually just played through RevRev 1 and I thought it was just okay. Probably my least favorite of the mainline REs (haven't played them all though. yet). I'm excited for RevRev 2 though - new locations, new characters (I'm seriously so sick of Chris and Jill. and even Leon and Ada to an extent. and Wesker), and the teaser even hinted at the return of zombies! Dragon Quest Heroes should be on 3DS. Ugh, Square shot itself in the foot again! I guess I'll have to get my PS3 repaired after all.

I only want Chris for
fanservice
reasons. The cast of RE is really played out, yeah.
The only thing I really liked in RE:R (besides those costumes) is the re-introduction of the horror elements, you know, like walking down a corner, suddenly something jumps at you. I really like that. I hope they focus more on that in RE:R 2.

I liked that too. The inside of the ship often felt very mansion-y and I liked the return of keys, and emblems and the like. More of that in RevRev 2 plox!
