Just someone I thought who was a friend scammed me out of a couple hundreds that I loaned him.

Dang, man. Sorry to hear about this, obviously I hadn't checked GAF when we chatted earlier. I'm sure things will start looking up sooner or later, but one thing's for sure - In my observation, you try to keep a pretty positive attitude about bad situations, which is a great way to deal with all the crap that the universe sometimes flings around. Keeping that up will serve you well at any point in life, IMO.

And, uh, thanks again :)

I'm not much of an alcohol man. I was born with stress induced asthma so I don't smoke or drink. (well at least I only drink once or twice a year) Trying to keep my body clean.
What about heroin? You don't need to smoke or drink it, right? You can do heroin!

I'm just kidding, please don't do heroin :p

If you want a drug, play Super Hexagon instead. Or, not so drug-like, but Bit.Trip Flux is always good. Yeah, play that one!

Well, make sure you drink something worthwhile those one or two times a year then. Like Lagavulin 16. But the whisky was a digression from my main and sound advice ;)
I had a Guiness a couple times. It's really good. probably the only beer brand that i like. And you're talking to a guy who doesnt like the taste of alcohol much.

And, uh, thanks again :)
It's no problem :) you're a super nice guy and that giveaway you did earlier during last thread. so I thought you deserve it :)

Crazy, gonna check it out

A tip:
This requires for you to search each game's numerical ID you do not want to idle.

The documentation states you can find this numerical ID by going to the game's store page and looking at the URL.
Example: http://store.steampowered.com/app/35140/ => 35140 it is.

But I found a faster way:
- Go to your badges page: http://steamcommunity.com/id/YOUR_USERNAME/badges/
Since you can only craft badges for games that have cards, you now immediately have a list of all your games that support cards.

- Then just hover over each game's section, and your internet browser should show the link at the bottom of your window.
Example: http://steamcommunity.com/id/YOUR_USERNAME/gamecards/35140/
The displayed number is the exact same ID that would be shown when you went to the game's store page.

- So if you now put 2 windows side by side: one being that Badges page, and the other being Notepad, you can go through your list of card-supported games, hover over a section, memorise the ID, and enter it in Notepad.
(Or just open each link in a new tab, and then copy paste every element from the tab's URL)

Of course, this process could still take long if you have tons of games. But it will definitely speed things up. :)

Any impressions of the Xbone controller now that the official drivers are out? lashman told me that it's a huge improvement over the x360 one but I'm looking for some more impressions before I buy it

The improvement isn't huge as the 360 was already very good but now you get a usable digi pad, (even) better triggers but slightly worse bumpers. A very good pad overall.

you mean impressions of the controller itself or the compatibility with pc games?? , if is the 1st my opinion is that there is a big improvement in the dpad but the bumpers (LB / RB ) are terrible now , they feel like you have to press them in the middle for them to work properly

Well finally getting to the end of Dark Souls after all these years! Just need to finish the DLC side thing before I take my lord souls to the vessel.
I'm in a similar spot. Got all the lord souls and I'm now doing the Artorias of Abyss dlc. The dlc is actually surprisingly long, but it's pretty good too.
And yeah, the Artorias boss fight was pretty cool. Took me several tries, but the attempt where I actually beat him was super intense and rewarding.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I've been using mine for PC gaming ever since the official drivers came out, and I absolutely love it. I was worried that having to plug it in would be more trouble than it was worth, but lash is right in that it's a HUGE improvement over the Xbox 360 controller.

Hopefully MIcrosoft announces a wireless dongle sometime soon.

EDIT: Yeah, the bumpers on top are the most annoying part of the controller.

I like it, sits much better in my hands. The sticks feel better and the d-pad. There is slight plasticy feel to it. Also having to use an USB cable was something to get used to again, but not have to worry about batteries is nice.^^

In what ways is it an improvement? D-pad?

Yeah, I was being a bit dumb sometimes and got killed right where I was one hit from victory. I was baffled that my lunging with the greatsword missed and got angry which rarely ever happens. orz

Watching that Sony pre-TGS conference now. If watching The Witcher trailers in English didn't feel weird to me already, then watching them in Japanese certainly does.
Although there was that Polish children's cartoon from the 70s-80s that became popular a few years ago in Japan, but still - a totally different thing with The Witcher being serious.

The D-pad is hugely improved, but for me I feel like the controller fits my hands a lot better than the 360 controller. The back of the controller is flush, unlike the wireless 360 controller that has that weird bump in the back where the battery pack is. The analog sticks are also greatly improved and much more "grippy".

Overall I'd say I recommend it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. So I guess I should go with the package that includes the play&charge kit since the standard one doesn't have any cables

It uses a standard Micro USB cable like this one so if you have one (for charging your phone or whatever) it'll probably work. I bought the play and charge kit for when they eventually release a wireless dongle so I wont' have to use batteries.

Don't you have a spare micro-USB calbe? I guess the p&c kit costs more.

Why not use two pairs of good batteries, one set gets charged while the other is in the controller?

It's cheaper to just pick up the cables on your own. You probably already have a few around.

I definitely would have, except I got the play and charge kit with the controller for $40 on sale. So in my case it was actually cheaper to get it with the cable and battery pack.
