If it's ArcSys they can release an outdated game with no online multiplayer and wait for the millions to come pouring in.

As far as Japanese publishers go, all they probing attempts leave my scratching my head, it's like they on purpose choose the game that has to fail at selling.

edited: what if I forgot my CVG login. Should I register again?

Looking through the Golden Joysticks and Divinity: OS is no where to be found in the nominations. Glad to see PC gaming still being ignored by the mainstream press! At least Steam is there under best platform.

He keeps a reasonably close eye on this thread, but you could PM him if you'd prefer to be absolutely sure that he sees them.

Any old-school RPG experts here? I have a problem with Divine Divinity

Are you experiencing similar issues in any other games? Texture rendering problems are generally caused by busted VRAM.

Well, you can't play D:OS with a joystick :p

Somebody somewhere is saying "Challenge accepted."

I can't help but wonder if KISS actually re-licensed the cars or of it's redistributing the game without permission.

Wouldn't be surprised if they're just seeing how long they can get away with it. Can't think of too many companies hunting down SRS on steam.

WB should take a leaf out of the Book of KISS and do the same with Wheelman. ;)

You make a fair point but they have DayZ in there which isn't even out. They do have some PC exclusives like Jazzpunk (I think it's still exclusive) but it seems very strange to leave out such an incredible game even from the nominations.

Is the the reason why it's sitting there doing nothing? I played it ages ago and never even payed attention to the cars or anything else.
If it ever comes back to steam you should actually play it just because.

Yes. I was searching Google for an image of Call of Juarez's rear cover for a SPUF post when I had the thought to look up Wheelman. Immense sadness washed over me.

I can't believe that some of their decisions are the result of a well thought plan, they simply make no sense.

Ok thinking about it now, those cars were in there. Man it can't be that hard to license. Guess I gotta check Suffering and Psiops to see if that's an issue with those. I know psiops had that one cold song in it.

Are you using the Direct 3D renderer or Software renderer? I had some problems with D3D on Win8, game was running unplayably slow with it.

It certainly wouldn't be hard but it would cost some amount of money, which would prove to be a barrier if WB believes that game's sales over the lifetime of the contracts wouldn't cover the fees and then some. Vin Diesel's rich; he should do us a solid. ;)

No, everything else runs well and with no troubleshooting. From recent to old games.

Using D3D and had no issues with it until now (over 20+ hours played). When I choose software rendering the game is having issues starting up.

I know we just gotta let it be known to him somehow. Would be fun to see a twitter campaign about wheelman actually get seen by him.

I keep thinking that having won a few raffles that if I came into a small money pot that it'd be nice to give something back, but really rare or desired. What's a great thing to give back to Raffle Givers?

Recommendation post for the ones willing to listen to my recommendations :p

Echo of the Wilds - 50% off at €3,50
Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/305780/
Demo: http://caiysware.com/demo/Echo_of_the_Wilds_Demo_Win.zip

My own Youtube video impressions:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cx4s_z6b-U&feature=youtu.be

Its one of those games where its best if you dive into it yourself and just explore the mechanics and overall game world instead of having someone else play it for you, but I think the video does a pretty decent job at explaining the basic mechanics and giving an insight on how the game plays. Its basically a mystery survival game. You are stranded on an island with strange dreams and need to make sure to survive. In the best survival game fashion, this requires you to collect stones, berries and wood to eventually make better equipment and improve on your normal and simple daily routines.

However the game is far from being standard, but I dont want to spoil too much, lets just say that the campaign is rather inventive and manages to stay fresh and interesting in regard to certain aspects of how the story is presented. The graphics and animations are carefully designed, the audio design is subtle but unintrusive and the writing very charming (even though admittedly some lines are a tad cheesy). The actual gameplay mechanic (survival) works very well too, which I didnt expect for a smaller game that seems a bit simple at first and also seems to have enough content. I played 1 hour and maybe finished 1/4th to 1/5th of the story campaign and still havent touched the endless mode. Even if the game only ends up being 4-5 hours long, its just very good at being what it is, so no matter what the final playtime ends up as, this game is good, really good, and I have no issue at all fully recommending it.

Be warned that its hard. In one try, I finally managed to create some stone tools, and shortly dived afterwards because I relied too much on my tools and didnt have resources backed up to make new tools once my old ones broke, which left me with no food or firewood. That didnt feel like I progressed much at all, not to mention all of those areas that I couldnt access yet because I didnt have ropes/equipment/clothing yet or the countless other statues and mysteries that still remained unsolved.

For those generally liking survival games but having a slight fatigue on those games, I heartily recommend giving it a try. As I said before, it deviates from the usual design of those games in quite a few ways, and still manages to feel unique, mysterious and challenging. Plus its cheap. And lovely. Actually, if I had more time on my hands, that game really deserves its own thread, but oh well. Steam thread post will need to be enough for now :p

Some other impressions from the Indie thread:
Adjusted my voting list, with Echo of the Wilds at #3. Absolutely love the art style and beautiful, unsettling, sometimes surreal atmosphere. It's an interesting blend of story, survival, and exploration, more narrative focused than other similar games I've played. Like Toma mentioned, the survival elements are deeper and more challenging than they initially seem.

Echos of the Wild is very good, hard and a bit creepy as well.

Well, aside from the usual joke games that Munchy covered, atm I say

Invisible Inc.
Hatoful Boyfriend
Divinity OS
Witcher 3

are good candidates.

I found this, maybe it's worth a try:

A bit late on the reply, but I was having this same issue with the Steam version. What I did to fix it (at least for me), was to edit the "memory limit 32" line in config.div, and changed it to "memory limit 64". When I loaded my save, no more corruption.

DayZ has guns and you shoot things. You may not have known this.

Derp, forgot to add the steam link to the Echo of the Wilds post before, but I guess you guys know how to find a game on the store =p

Do you have The Witcher 3 pre-ordered or do you intend to pre-order it? If so, I'd leave TW2 alone until closer to February 25th.
I missed the RU one since my salary keeps on getting delayed almost every month. Though I plan to get it next year / when a sale suddenly pops out. Though I still have to play the first game, which I hear is a tedious and boring game.
Murdered Soul Suspect.
It's more a cinematic game so easy to play and beat.
I'm kinda hesitant to play this since this keeps on dropping on price lately but reading Dusk's review(?), I may start on this one. Plus its only 8gb compared to 21gb(SE3) and 17gb (TW2).
Witcher 2
Sniper Elite 3
Murdered: Soul Suspect.
In that order!
I haven't played the Witcher. SE3 looks great but I have a bandwidth capped internet so it might be put on the backburner for a while.
From the funny picture thread:
ck8TC1C.gif
That's extremely true. My current laptop has a Nvidia card and I have to open the air conditioner or else it will overheat. The supposedly replacement, with an AMD card killed itself. But not without BSOD itself to hell and back every 30 mins, guaranteed.

Nice write up.. I got this from a greenlight bundle and played a minute of it to check it out but didnt try to get into it at the time, but I've always been meaning to... I just have so many games to play.. trying to at least actually finish things before I move onto others..

I liked the style of the game.

edit: Magical Drop is actually good you nincompoops.

The RU sub is still region-free and in fact has never been region-locked despite CDPR playing with ACRTAG.
