A lack of content compared to what Bungie talked about 18 months ago, I agree. I've gone into length about that myself. It's almost reached meme status though where Destiny has less content than an FPS like Call of Duty.

ha ok we're basically on the same page. :) just saying people's glorious visions are never going to match the actually, of which there will be boat loads more than your typical 5 hr. COD campaign.

I don't see how this is a problem. How many people do you think that have ordered the game will be reading reviews? I don't think I will ever read one, I will be too busy playing. I played the Alpha and the Beta, I don't need anyone to validate my purchase, but then again I never did.

Don't get me wrong, the game was incredibly fun from what I played. But there's still some things I'm on the fence about, such as the mission variety and how big the final game will actually be.

I want to buy from Amazon to get bonus credit card points but no preload on a digital purchase blows.

I was in the same boat. I bought PSN cards on Amazon (digital versions...you get the codes instantly) then used those to buy the DGE on PSN.

I lost track of what the lack of content argument actually was. How does this game lack compared to any other fps?

The biggest complaint I see over and over is "there 's only one area per planet". People also keep comparing the game to an MMO, and while Destiny does borrow a lot of things from MMOs, it's not one.

I like to read reviews in retrospect, just to see if the various reviewers pick up on/enjoy the same aspects as me. And so I know who's being biased for or against the game in question.

I'd have no doubts in my mind of buying the LE, if it weren't for being in a tight spot the next few weeks money wise. Like, there's nothing I need money for (besides this obvs), but it's usually a good idea to be prepared for the unknown....

Who am I kidding. Once I've got my mother's clubcard activated (turns out the silly woman's been putting all the points she meant for me onto some random unregistered clubcard and I have no idea where she got it from.....especially when I gave her a key fob of one of mine -_-) I'ma getting the LE.

Like Woofy said, steelbooks are smexy. I can always sell the DLC later on if the game's not the saviour of FPS I'm pretty sure it's going to be (FPS has been dying for me until this). Worked out for CoD Ghosts; that game freaking stank and I still only lost £5 on selling the LE.

EDIT: For a bit of fun tonight, once I've finished my rounds on World of Tanks, I think I might design a Ghost keychain for shapeways. That'd be a fun thing to have alongside my red koopa shell.

Sure!

Strikes, Raids, Explore and co-op story missions will keep you happy.

Alright, cool. I really know nothing about this game outside of seeing comparisons between PSO and BL. I can get behind that if true. I also just needed an excuse to get a PS4, and this bundle was fantastic.

you need to create a UPS account though and depending on the order and/or how close to its expected arrival it is it might cost you a bit extra to have it resent to a UPS store of your choosing

UPS MyChoice is free, and as soon as Amazon gives you a tracking number is when you can set it to pick up at a UPS Store. it shouldn't cost you anything.
I'd check but i don't have any new tracking numbers right now.

Was hoping my Limited Edition Strategy Guide would be shipping soon, but it still doesn't have a release date...

And i'm not familiar with FedEx's operations.

Do we really have an idea of how content limited this game is going to be? Are we thinking the single player story will be a few hours long?

Just trying to get a handle on how 'light' things are gonna feel day one.

I spent over 20 hours each in the alpha and beta, played one PvP match to get rid of the
"mission icon"
then went and blasted another strike sesh.

I spent most of the time in free roam just looking around and shouting things.

Rather theroputic, just playing by ones self and occassionally meeting other peeps along the way.

When hey dropped the bomb about one area per planet, I went off on a right trip on my clan forum, was well gutted, now though after seeing more info, I think we will be pleasantly surprised about how much there actually is story wise.

Yeah I was a little disappointed at first but when you think about it, it certainly looks like we'll be getting our money's worth. I hope there's more of a variety in locations in the expansions though,

Some of my fave time spent in the beta was climbing to a high spot in each area and just sitting there, watching all the other guardians go by.

Can't get over how awesome the sparrow was first time I got on it. It just felt so quick and so right. Like how I always wanted Halo Ghosts to feel.

EDIT: Ha that reminds me of the hour just before The Moon opened. Everyone UK was waiting at the tower for an hour thanks to Scotland's stupid time shift (wtf's wrong with GMT, BST my arse), the main area was rammed! Loads dancing on the store roofs, people sitting all along the edge of the balconies. It might not be the biggest game in the world when we get into it, but that's fine as long as the players populating it are numerous.

I've been on hype trains before, but never anything this big. I was never a big Halo fan nor Gears of War. Never been one to get excited for the yearly release of COD. Destiny, on the other hand, has me tightly within it's fist. It is kind of disheartening to see so many people so quick to bash the game based on something small. Reviews are coming late? "Game must be shit." Glerph.

More than that, probably. Seems like solo play will require a decent amount of grinding (progression was sped up in the beta), so that'll pad the numbers at least a little. I'm thinking something like 10 hours of unique story content; more if the story is more fleshed out than what than what the beta indicated.

Instead of buying the game through Amazon, just buy PSN/XBL gift credit via Amazon (they'll send the code immediately) then pre-order/pre-load the game through the Playstation Store or Xbox Marketplace.
welcome to the future

edit: beaten badly
