So have they ever gave an official reason for never putting N64 games on the Wii U VC? This is a total bummer. Are they just not wasting their time and money, given the Wii U's lousy sales?
I sort of figure the platforms we've got on VC are all we're going to get. 3DS is a dead end to invest in at this point and Wii U just doesn't have the userbase to make it worth it I guess. Maybe we'll get a few more 3rd party platforms on Wii U but I sort of get the feeling Nintendo and friends are going to wait for NintendOS platforms before giving Virtual Console another major push.

It's my understanding that nintendo is using the foundation of the Wii U for future handheld and console hardware. It that is the case, any VC created for Wii U will be used indefintely for the future.

Getting n64 VC out now shouldn't be hard, even if it somehow were, it'll be used again and again and again.

The original X was a masterpiece in every facet of its design, but X2 and X3 feel like they're just going through the motions. They're still decent fun, but ultimately completely forgettable. X4 recaptured a lot of what made X so great, but it wasn't on a Nintendo system so it'll never appear on the Virtual Console, unfortunately.

X4 was on the Saturn, so never say never! Won't help with the rest of the series, though.

Yeah that's been the interpretation from the "absorbing Wii U architecture" comment from Iwata but I dunno. I'm still skeptical.

At this point Wii already had NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, TG16, NeoGeo, SMS, TGCD and MSX with C64 and even arcade games just a few months away. I don't understand what's taking so long with Wii U other than pure disinterest?

I've heard that Sega simply doesn't care which would explain SMS and Genesis. The whole
VC situation is sad really.

I get the feeling their Game Gear games didn't do too great on 3DS VC. That combined with Wii U being Wii U probably scared them off for now. Also, perhaps M2's too busy with GBA/DS.

I feel like Konami will eventually bring TG16, even though they're being uselessly slow fucks about it. Also I guess Coleco of all companies is interested in VC so there's that.

Konami investing in anything Hudson Soft related? Please, take a seat.

Does anyone happen to know where to find a list of all physical 3DS and Wii U games that have been released this year in USA?

Also has NOA ever done discounts on DLC? Fire Emblem, NSMB2, etc

Thirdly, is there a list of all 3DS or Wii U games that have DLC?

Note that at least with SMW Advance, there was different content to justify a rerelease of that version. With ALttP GBA the only added content is Four Swords which is unusable because they didn't bother to include any multiplayer workarounds in their GBA emulator. So they'd want to literally rerelease the exact same thing twice.* I wouldn't count on that. What you can count on, though, is that another sale will be happening with ALttP in it so no need to rush into anything (unless you want DDP/PP for it).

edit: *=UNLESS they're really psyched about the Ocarina of Time noises that Link makes in ALttP GBA ;)

There's also the Palace of the Four Sword added to the main game, though that runs into the problem that you need to beat Four Swords to unlock it...

Castle Conqueror Defender, Castle Conqueror EX and Legend of the Dark Witch in lotcheck, probably due Sep/Oct

Breath of Fire coming to Wii U Virtual Console in Japan next week. THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

Also, Mario Golf: Advance Tour and that Flying Dragon Famicom game that preceded the N64 game we got long after.
We knew Breath of Fire was coming soon since Capcom US told us it was coming to NA in 2014. Still waiting on Mighty Final Fight, Mega Man Zero, Demon's Crest and Battle Network 2

Legend of Dark Witch looks interesting. Oh and MMBN2 (and Zero 2) weren't announced for 2014, they were TBA.

Sometimes this week I'm getting a DSi XL so I was wondering: is it possible to transfer the DSiware games that are available for purchase on the eShop from the 3DS to the DSi? I'd really like to play Shantae on XL's big screen.

I ask because I don't remember if it's still possible to buy DSiware game straight away with the DSi.

no, only acceptable transfer is DSi to 3DS, DSi to DSi or 3DS to 3DS

The walk backwards through a door bug still works in the GBA version so if you know where it is in the game you can bypass the NPC blocking it. I suppose they could offer an alternate unlock (custom save or something). But then the same could be said for the MKDD Bonus disc items in Fire Emblem (though it would appear the data transfer option was removed entirely from the European version).

no, only acceptable transfer is DSi to 3DS, DSi to DSi or 3DS to 3DS
Don't forget DSi to New 3DS, 3DS to New 3DS and New 3DS to New 3DS (that is right, once you go New you can't go back).

Thank you and sorry, I edited my post a bit. Do you know if it's still possible to purchase DSiware games with a DSi console? Is the shop there still up and running?

Sometimes I forget how late Japan can get a game, similar to how long the US might have to wait for one of their games. We had Mighty Switch Force HD for almost 2 years now & they're only getting it now?

Well of course, it's a western game developped in the US, which means:

- they have to find a JP publisher, since Nintendo Co. Ltd doesn't allow self-publishing on the eShop.
- they have to translate everything in Japanese (not much text ingame, but there's documentation and stuff).

So yeah, this can lead to some lengthy delays.

I'd imagine it should be.

Have fun navigating the DSi Shop 2 items a page with load time of 1 minute each. :p

Ohh just saw that Teslagrad is coming out for Wii U this month. Really decent game and I still need to go back to finish it on Steam, but I think you guys will really enjoy it as well. Also just noticed that Planet Puzzle League Express is on Club Nintendo free games! I need to jump on that before it goes away! Also has there been any word as to when they are gonna be releasing Fire Emblem 7 on GBA VC for NA? Will finally be able to put my old GBA copy to rest lol.

Aegis Defenders has about 50 minutes left to reach its Wii U stretch goal. It's a tactical platformer, which is a pretty interesting concept. The look reminds me of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

Edit: Time is up. Unfortunately, the project didn't meet the Wii U stretch goal.

Here i am waiting for a Smash bros character sale like Europe got and hoping to play Kid Icarus... but maybe i should wait for the new 3ds.

Kid Icarus does not play well without a second analog stick. Hopefully the New 3DS will be compatible with it.

If you have a circle pad Pro Kid Icarus doesn't become a twin stick shooter, you can just use the right analogue instead of left. Being left handed I bought a circle pad pro and honestly...my brain doesn't understand why right stick is moving the character making it hard to coordinate movement so I just play it like a right handed person and I'm doing fine (I keep the CCP plugged in as the bulkiness helps make it comfy). I also use a cotton bud as a styluss (the CCP makes getting the styluss out a pain) I don't know if that helps cramp (I think the CCP is more important...my play sessions have been pretty short though).

I'd assume new 3DS justs counts as circle pad pro always plugged in and well, have you seen the size of the right stick on the New 3DS? I'm not sure it would be good.

Once you find a comfortable position, Kid Icarus without a stylus becomes unthinkable. It's just so fast in a way a second stick would not be.

Damn, this looks really nice and I hadn't heard of it until you posted.
