You should do a new one or update that one with this new video.

Apart from a few new gifs, not much has changed from the core concepts. And we didn't really see anything new like Summons, Customization, menu screens etc.

But we're getting a demo in 6 months anyway.

Google car taking pictures for Google Maps was driving down the street. There is a passage of time as the car goes down the street obviously. One photo is near the crest of the curb and the woman on the sidewalk is walking. But what was perhaps seconds later when the second picture was taken, she tripped lol

oh so its an accident..I don't mean to laugh at poor folks' misfortune :/

Anything faster might be hard to control? wut. They're way faster combat oriented games than that and you can control them just fine. I'm also quite sure it will end up being at least KH speed

True, but Final Fantasy is not meant to be a lightning-quick action game like Bayonetta. There are other things to keep in mind, like party management. Plus as someone said before, having the combat be slightly slower allows for better reaction time for the player.

If Dark Souls has taught us anything, it's that sometimes the best strategic combat is a little bit slower and more methodical.

Then again, I bet they will make his lightning movements pretty simple, like pointing the stick in the direction of the enemy and pressing a specific button combination. It will probably amount to little more than a quick-time event style button press.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!
Fantastic looking graphics, but still am highly suspicious if the game will actually turn out like this just with how FF13 was originally shown to "play".

That and further cements my utter hatred for the ugly ass design of these characters. Its like he picked a bunch of hosts from random in Kabukicho and digitized them. Jesus christ.

Your first point doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but FF has always been evolving and changing things up. If you really want to go that way, then why not mention that FF isn't supposed to be anything else other than turn based menu style? It can do what it wants to lol. I'm not trying to be rude, but the first sentence doesn't really add anything.

I agree with the party management thing, but I still doubt bringing it to KH level speed would be a problem.

To the Dark Souls statement, there are both very good slow and fast combat systems. Well my overall point is I think it'd be fine if it were a bit faster, which I think it will be when you progress through whatever level/skill system they have.

Some of the comments on this video, man...

Are people that restrictive with what they enjoy? Why does it matter if it's 'not Final Fantasy' in your disposition of the game? You see people saying that it's not Final Fantasy over and over again but they never say why it's an issue. 'Oh, realtime combat? I'm not playing it it's not Final Fantasy.'

I think people should just judge the video game for what it is - a video game. This looks like a good video game to me and that's why I'm interested.

seriously this and

this is what I disliked the most from the trailer.

Really the only problem I have with this is that it looks very abrupt since the first animation does not fluidly lead into the second animation. In fact, the first animation seems to have had the very end of it cut off so Noctis could initiate his dodge animation. But in an action game, this is unavoidable and when it comes down to it, I'd rather have dodging prioritized over Noctis fully finishing an animation like that. Of course, there will be attacks that you can't cancel out of (I assume), but in those cases you have to be strategic in how you use them.

Edit: Looking more closely at the animation, I'd have to see the first animation without the dodge to know if it was cancelled out of. At the very least, there is no delay. Animation plays, dodge initiated, attack engaged. If the actual game is that fluid with little delays between actions, I'll be happy.

Eh, don't have anything against the animations themselves, I just hope you have to manually trigger this shit. Having Prompto jumping over me mid fight all the time would be so fucking annoying.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I hope the demo isn't 10GB.

Could be fluid interaction when you bump each other during fights. Kinda like how Drake in Uncharted will automatically touch the wall when he gets close to it.

Some of the mechanics look very solid, though.

Like here, you see that Noctis has to stun the enemy with his sword so that Gladiolus can KO him pretty easily. Party mechanics like this would be great since there's nothing canned about this sequence.

The first sentence was in direct relation to the second. I suppose it doesn't matter that much in the end because they could make the actions very simple and scripted instead of giving the player ultimate freedom. And although I'm not familiar with all Kingdom Hearts games, as I only played the first, I don't remember there being more intricate movements like shown in these trailers. Having more intricate control over those might be a key element to the battle system. Or, as I said earlier, it could be nothing more than a glorified quick time button press. Not to mention that Kingdom Hearts' gameplay feels like a watered down, simplified system that doesn't have much complexity to it.

But basically the point is that Final Fantasy is a team-based game, not a single character action game like Bayonetta where all you have to worry about is one character. It's also very possible that they slowed it down because camera control looks like it would be a bit crazy if Noctis was moving as fast as the earlier videos.

However, this is all speculation and the gameplay style could be a lot different.

That shit is annoying too, but at least it won't interrupt your combat with this fucking asshole jumping over you.

Imagine a very hard hunt, you're about to die but so is the enemy, so you decide to go in and deliver the final blow.

Then Prompto comes running and bumps into you and the cool ass animation plays and you die

THANK YOU FOR PLAYING

Oh I get ya. I was too focused on how you said "FF isn't meant to be" that the main point flew over my head :p
