Glitch in Destiny reveals DLC details and content is partially on Disc

The fact it's not much, and that some if it is on the disc i don't care about. What i do care about, is why the hell did they not add stuff to make end game better. these missions are for low level... I don't want to do a level 10 mission while I'm at level 30. I want level 30 missions, i want to gain additional light levels. i want level 30+ raids. not level 28 raids.

Call of Duty charges 15 for just a multiplayer map pack.

This is 20 for two strikes, three maps, a raid and some story missions.

I don't see how this is worse?

Eh the CoD map packs also include zombies/extinction/survival maps as well that are much longer than strikes. Also, the Destiny PvP is crap and so are the defend Peter story missions. The only substantial piece of content is the raid and considering how hard it is to start one of those up I'd rather pay for CoD DLC.

Yyyyyup! At least I'm getting a good few fun hours out of the PvP
You know the quote I would be digging up would be Dax's reply to yours, right?

My point is that this whole "how do you know for sure" argument against pretty educated assumptions have always failed Destiny way back since the alpha.

Those missions most likely are gonna be dinklage hordes again. More of the same.

I can't know for sure though

Every Destiny thread in gaming, over and over and over and over.

It's not even amusing anymore, it's just pathetic. People really will twist anything to strengthen that narrative. This thread it's pulling issues that have been discussed to death for an entire goddamn generation, with people jumping to conclusions. In the review thread it's selective ignorance of game content. Pre-release it was ignorance of details ("LOL ONLY 5 AREAS?").

I don't even know why im posting this really. People will continue to shitpost because it's the latest thing to get upset about, and will only consider technicalities that support that narrative.

You seem more upset than any of the "pathetic" people who dislike Destiny for justified reasons. No one's twisting your arm to post if you don't want to see people having discussion.

How is me asking how you know the DLC is finished defending Bungie?

Because we have footage that shows confirmed DLC locations from more than a year ago. Which means they started developing DLC content 2 years ago. And you are playing devils advocate for a developer that doesn't deserve it at this point.

Point to where I said something actually offensive and not just something that bothers you personally because you like Destiny.

The fact that any of you are doing this cross-examination shows the kind of twisted logic that defenders use to justify the game to themselves. To say nothing of the sunk cost fallacy that reeks from them already.

BTW, I don't own Destiny and the only time I played it is the Beta.

Oh yeah I know :p I was just saying I'd love if I was wrong (that I'd look stupid) and that the missions weren't actually the same as what we have now. Just so we'd all have fresher feeling stuff to play

I said give a shit. If they are going to make less content and more money, what publisher would actually object?

Also 2K is about to release this

So I'm not sure how much they really care about content vs development cost.

Holy shit, if that ends up with more content than Destiny, people will go nuts.

Reaching. If that's offensive to you perhaps you shouldn't go into any corner of the internet where actual invective that isn't reined in by moderators happens.

To say nothing of you drive-bying this thread without even playing the full fucking game.

Me too buddy, but I'm bracing for the worst. I literally have no faith in Bungie after how lackluster I felt Destiny turned out. Sure, the gunplay is fun, but the mistakes of that game are so glaring that it's beyond belief they were oversights. Those decisions being actual decisions from that developer have destroyed all my hope.

But..Be Brave and all that and we'll see.

Remember when this stuff was found during the beta and people were all like "there's so much more that'll be in the final game!"

Good times.

I find it amusing that most of the lesser reviews state how the game's music outshines the actual game.

The music composed by the guy they fired.

They were pretty foolish to handle the Marty situation the way they did. It's even more foolish now because of how the game shook out. I wonder what the Destiny 2 score will be like.

You sound so sure. Have you already played it?

You can be sure that this dlc was being worked on before Destiny was finished. Whoever the mission designer was thought it would too much work to add in fun campaign missions like Halo and instead replaced them all with horde mode. I don't think they'd have enough time to course correct when the reviews came out but I hope so. Bungie needs to understand that the missions are not fun. We know they can make good campaign missions because we've seen them before but the Destiny ones are just embarrassing.

The silent cartographer mission is about 100 times cooler than any mission in Destiny. I guess they went with horde mode for replayability but I wouldn't mind some loose story bits thrown in or at least some better maps to play through if it's just a monster closet.

How lame is that?

I thought we would get some new planets or completely new areas on the old planets. Maybe finally beeing able to actually run around in the reef, like they showed at the destiny reveal.
I thought we would get some actual story bits like they teased in the years before launch.

But instead we get some more dull strikes and "story" missions in old areas as on disc DLC.

I want to know what happend to Destiny, because what we got now is definitely not the game they planned on releasing back when they announced it and showed it off in 2013.

I guess Acti got their money anyways so I'm sure we will be bringing this up again when we find out what's in the DLC and Destiny 2 getting announced in 2016.

It goes both ways. I don't see how telling people they fell for hype to wash out their negative criticism is any better than telling someone they are caught up in their own hype to wash out their positive criticism.

To me, it's all shit posting. I hated the echo chamber being pushed in the OT and being forced on people in the Review Thread at the beginning, and I hated the drive bys in the OT and confirmation bias/echochamber shit in the Review Thread.

But as you said, there doesn't seem to be a point in posting about this stuff because people will push their views and just wave the middle finger to everyone else.

I love Destiny. I've got upwards of 80 hours into it now. I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

... But this news is very saddening. I suppose I was hoping the expansion would consist of brand new areas, and the areas already in the game would be released for free. You shouldn't have to pay for finished content... that's just not right.

I've played about 60 hours of Destiny and I still have no idea who Rasputin is.
The legends were true. Rasputin was a war mind developed to fight the darkness - he fought it and survived and now he's on Mars too. And this of course leads us to [DLC REQUIREMENTS NOT MET] where [DLC REQUIREMENTS NOT MET] turns out to be [DLC REQUIREMENTS NOT MET] all along.

I'm more interested in the content of the missions than where it's staged or whether it's on the disc or not.

If all they have is 'Stand by door X while 3 enemies attack you then kill bullet sponge boss Y' then it's a definite pass from me.

If its content as good as the first raid...then it'll be well worth the money.

Because that time is better spent on making a fuller game on launch, then take time after that to make large DLCs with lots of content.

If your game is full enough, you shouldn't have to worry about tiding people over until the next big thing.

Every developer will start working on the DLC right at the beginning. They need to plan for it.

If you really think they have the content ready and completed from just looking at the video, you're very mistaken. That's just a bunch of icons and words on the map UI. It doesn't mean they have it ready for release.

I think you give them too much credit. I highly doubt the inclusion of micro-transactions would fund anything more than more micro-transactions.
Well we can go back and forth all day on what they might have used the money for. A cosmetic item like a shader makes so much sense for a microtransaction, but weapons absolutely not. Or weapon skins, if they had them. Works amazingly for Valve. The monetary model they have right now is super dumb considering they don't have enough content to justify it. Asking people to shell out probably will still work, but not as well as they were hoping.
