I'm in my job... but my little son (13 years old) entered to the game.

He already played Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2.

And he called for telling me two things:

* The game is awesome.

* And the game is more difficult than Dark Souls.

Do you think the same?

Holy fuck dude, the heavy class weapon switch is awesome. The hammer is on your back till you push L1 then he stabs the sword into it and uses it as a handle. Amazing.

Game looks hard from the streams.

I lean on my shield a whole lot in the Souls games... guess I'm going to have to unlearn that habit.

Yes, it's pretty difficult. It's definitely more fast paced than a Souls game. Practicing the dash moves are a must to survive.

I think you have an amazing son! You should be extra proud he makes GAF proud too.

It's definitely not harder than Dark Souls, it just takes time to adjust to the combat. First time through Dark Souls and the hollows in the asylum will kick your ass for most people.

Bah, almost got the boss down on the first try. Goddamn, the camera is somehow worse than the souls games. The camera was firmly in the bosses crotch half the fight. The speed of the combat just turns up the souls jank an extra notch. Fun so far though.

I can see it being rough for Souls players that used a shield a lot. I two handed through Souls so I'm right at home with the hammer class. Loving the hammer L2 (shoutouts to Monster Hunter!)

Yep, anyone who is used to Souls 2-hand or dual wielding (in DS2) will pick it up easier. It's always hard to play a challenging game when you haven't gotten fully accustomed to the controls.

It's funny picking any class but the one with the doctor mask and moving the camera on the face. The hair, eyes and skin are so low quality while the outfit looks amazing.

Man, was only able to play for about half an hour, couldn't have been a worse day for this. Absolutely loved the little amount of time I had with it though.

Guns look more like crowd control tools, which is fine, but there goes my dream of dual wielding shotguns.

The blunderbuss can deal reasonable damage at close range, two shotting some enemies. Ammo likely won't be as easy to come by in the full game though. It drops like candy here.

So how did summoning work? Do you place a stone down like in old games? is it still random? Any voice chat at all? Was there any type of pvp?

To my dudes with concerns over the DS2 hitbox problems, I've not had a single bad hitbox yet. Good sign in an hour+ of playtime. I'm not saying it's completely fixed
yet

in order to summon someone one would have to use the lulling bell and the person who want to get summoned would have to use the small resonant bell.

edit: what Hollow said.

i don't think that's ever possible in the 1st place, i remember seeing the french player's stream last night, and his character can only bring a max of 20 bullets

Yeah, guns aren't damage dealing weapons. Their primary use seems to be to parry attacks.

Anyone else having difficulty finding a co-op partner? It was working fine at first but now I can't find anyone.

This. I'm loving the fact that I'm forced to use a different style now.

I wonder if it will take me 20+ hours to get somewhat decent like my first experience with Dark Souls? I kind of hated the game at first, but looking back those were the best of times!
