Can't believe they are really going let Alonso go and end up with old man Kimi and some scrub next year.....what a joke this team has become

I dont get it tho? I thought big ron part owned mclaren who has the authority to oust him? man f1 wont be the same without the big men like him and LDM.

Yeah, McLaren isn't even a publicly traded company, so I don't really see how anyone could seriously oust Ron Dennis, though of course, he does have to answer to the other two shareholders (TAG and the King of Bahrain).

In other news, lets watch some more Max Verstappen, here's a on-board video from 5 years ago, where he started 19th (and last) and overtook the entire field: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlUPY6X56y8

Of course Bianchi is using this opportunity to talk himself up, saying he's reading for a Ferrari seat. I had a good laugh.

yep....in what world is Bianchi ready for a Ferrari drive, he drives for fucking Marussia. The sad thing is, they might actually have to sign him since no one else is available

I don't see that particularly to be a problem. It's one better than Hamilton before he jumped straight into the Mclaren. That didn't prove to be too bad a decision

He has a 25% share, if he agreed to this investment deal and he doesn't come up with the goods he needs to be given the chop. On his watch the money is going away not coming in. Hugo Boss leaving, no title sponsor when he said they would have one, etc.

That Pit lane twitter now says Honda are calling the shots on the driver lineup and want nothing to do with Button or Magnussen.

Kobayashi to McLaren!

It's pretty much certain that's Alonso is off to Mclaren.

Only questions are:

- Who is his teammate at Mclaren?
- Who replaces him at Ferrari?
- Does he have number 1 status?
- Is Ron going to run the show?
- Is the car/Honda PU going to be absolute horseshit?

That's Button out of the sport if true, can't see him finding another decent seat :((((

Only if he refuses to downgrade to a smaller team, yeah.

Can't imagine Sauber or Williams not jumping all over some hot Button action if he finds himself a free agent.

That would depend on whether Sir Frank ever found it in his heart to forgive Button. :p

That seems like a complete sideways move though. One overrated washed up driver for another overrated washed up driver. They want Bottas to lead the team and he's already doing it. I think it'd be wiser to get a young, cheaper driver who's hungry to show his best. Hell, stick Suzy in there for 1 year and milk the PR. Bottas won't be at Williams for very long if he's as good as some people seem to think and a younger driver would be more beneficial to the team long-term IMO. Like, what if they took Magnussen off McLaren's hands?

I just don't really see what Massa or Button have to offer in 2015.

Contracts in F1 lol.. :D I'd get rid of Massa in a split second if Button became available.

Not sure how they'd get rid of Massa though, unless there's some juicy stuff in fine print :p I'd love to see JB go full circle and finish his career at Williams, I just don't see it happening :/
Button to sign a one year deal with Ferrari, him and Kimi will both retire at the end of 2015 with Vettel and Hamilton coming in to replace them in 2016.
Hmm, I think Bianchi's more likely at the moment.

Button's still driving well, and would at least be an upgrade over Massa IMO(biased fanboy here). I agree with you on getting a younger driver instead though, KMAG or getting Hulk back could be a good move.

I'm very surprised that Alonso is leaving personally. especially to Mclaren, but then again he must know something I don't. I personally would have gone to Williams. To try and emulate when Hamilton jumped to a team that showed flashes of brilliiance

Totally agreed. Lock up Bottas for a few years, give Suzy a drive that would give the team insane good PR and go from there.

Edit: Shit! Missed the new thread, my bad.
