Halo: MCC Halo 3 in 1080p/60FPS Glory - IGN First

I can't wait to see how it is since it's on dedicated servers now.

You can see clearly in the video that there's still the issues. Plus the fact that the bullet registration system they used in Halo 3 makes it feel awful compared to other Halo games. It's a shame because the maps are pretty good.

How is that the advertisement plays with no problems but the actual video does not? Keeps saying "catching up".

yeah no prob with the player on my end, using firefox.

Also is this just Halo 3 with better IQ(Res, Framerate)? Assets seems to be just how I remember them, with no additional improvements. Compared to the Halo 2 treatments.

I might bite and get this.

one day.

One of the comments on IGN says, "The first two cutscenes of Halo 3 has more story in them than Destiny does."

Lol.

Yep, and for that it'll be easiest on the eyes.

"Why does 60fps make games look faster I don't like it and prefer 30fps"

Comment sections are such great sources of entertainment.

graphics look the same, but the 60 FPS is noticeable right away

not really worth buying a new console for when I can play all the series on my 360.

why the hell did they not include reach and ODST?

Do you want the patch to be larger than the game on disc?

Oh, I appreciate the fact that the animations in Halo 1 now operate at 60 fps as well (unlike the PC port of the original).

I thought I was the only one that couldn't play IGN videos without it freaking out. Good to know I'm not alone in the universe.

What are you talking about? Halo 3 had great netcode.

Halo 3 is my favourite MP game in the franchise and this is simply not true. It was kinda okay, if people were in the same region as you, but as an European try to play against someone from North America, South America, Asia or any other continent. People actually quit the game, when people from Australia had host on their terrible connection.

I hope this is a non issue on dedicated servers, but I'm still scared.

Only problem I really have is the damn FOV

Yep. Standard FOV should be the increased co-op FOV or even more than that.

I'm literally looking at all my games right now. I can play almost every Halo already. That's the great thing about this collection, the unified interface and menu. Halo CE/2/3/4/H2A multiplayers just a few buttons away. Everyone will be on one game/menu.

Go from Team Slayer in Halo 2, to Big Team Battle in Halo 3, etc. Not only that, all of the multiplayers at 1080p/60fps on dedicated servers. This collection will breathe new life into the games for years now. Even when Halo 5 launches, you'll still have tons of players because it's one disc, but so many games.

They didn't add Reach because they wanted to tell Chief's story, and tying it into Halo 5 for next year. I agree it would have been nice to have them. Reach would have benefitted so much from 1080p/60 fps for the campaign which really was sluggish at times.

Looking pretty amazing. It's showing a bit of age here and there, but they're making the best with what they have, and that's in 1080p and 60FPS. Looks like it's been given all the care it deserves.

This game hasn't aged well at all.

It's still the best Halo campaign, or close, and has the nicest skyboxes of any of the 4 games, aside from maybe H2A. I much preffer the visual style of 3 to where it's gone since then.

2007. It's aged beautifully.

theres always next year-
but dont forget about Halo Wars

Time and Money to consider as well. I really hope they offer Halo Wars, ODST, and Reach as DLC. All great games and would be even better with a healthy dose of anti aliasing and higher resolution. PC ports would be even better but I don't see that in the cards.

It's called the Master Chief Collection for a reason
Justifying the content by the name is obviously not a reasonable answer to the question that was actually being asked.

The LoD fade in/out. It looked really weird on 360 split-screen.
It's present even outside of split-screen, though it's less extreme.

This game hasn't aged well at all.
It's aged just fine. If you think it looks somewhat light on the details, that was just as true in 2007. Halo 3 was always a game that compromised raw throughput of objects, light sources, pixels etc in favor of high-quality HDR and expressive lights and such.

Thats where you will be able to see 60fps.

IGN's player is unoptimized garbage. The videos in the link in the OP max out at around 50 fps on my PC. My Radeon 6850 doesn't have any problems streaming 60 fps videos from other sites such as Gamersyde.
