Might give faraway kingdom another try. The tutorial sucks and I have no clue what I'm doing though. Is there a good guide around?

Just waiting on my iPad Air 2 64 gig to be delivered today, can't wait. Been holding off on games lately since the RAM on my iPad 2 has been annoying me being so slow. So today I'll definitely be buying the Banner Saga and trying out Silent Age and Wolf Among Us, as well as reinstalling Shadowrun for a proper try. Any "graphics wow" games I should be jumping on?

Do either of you already have an older iPad? I have an iPad 3, and have been thinking about upgrading, but I'd like to hear what people think of the new ones in comparison for games.

As for graphics show pieces, I still think the Infinity Blade series is an easy choice. I hear Inferno 2 is also crazy looking. If you like racing, Real Racing 3 can't be beat... or Asphalt 8. Sorcery for game book adventure RPGs, and of course Monument Valley.

It's not as hard as it looks, it's two seperate games. One part Tiny Tower and one part fun little energy RPG with all the normal trappings of leveling up rare units to beat the game.

... I'm not afraid to admit I've beaten all content already, including all the Halloween Dungeons and am just grinding out to level up my houses and dungeons while waiting for more dungeons.

I love the game.

Retry is out worldwide!

I don't think Asphalt 8 looks particularly great at all.

When the game first came out we were playing this on an iPhone 5 and in the OT we were complaining about how choppy the game was and how the framerate wasn't smooth. Then I got the 5S and it really didn't seem much better than before.

Last month I got my 6 and this was one of the first games updated to run using the Metal API so I immediately put the game on my 6 and gave it a third chance and I am still not impressed. It isn't giving me that silky smooth feeling that even Ridge Racer used to give me on the PSP.

Speaking of Ridge Racer - how are the two iOS Ridge Racer games?

Yeah I have an iPad 2 as well so I've already played a lot of games on the system. Will give Asphalt a try. Gameloft though so my bias is already blinding me haha.

Air 2 has just arrived. It's beautiful. It's tiny, it feels like a mini compared the the iPad 2. The non reflective screen is apparent right away and my old iPad already looks like blurry shit in comparison. Happy happy. But I'm not sure about this iOS 8 yet, I don't like the new autocorrect.

Now to test some music apps to see what the ram is like!

You will see a nice jump in graphics for Shadowrun. KOTOR too, but I think you aren't playing that anymore.

As for graphics showpieces, I don't think there was any worthwhile release on that front lately.

Cool, I though Shadowrun was a little on the small side before so I think that'll be nice. Also going to try out that unreal test app for some ooooo pretty.

Very cool looking iOS release day! :D

Spot, by the makers of Trine and Trine 2! Was waiting for this for a long time, first thing I purchase today. 5€ here I come without doubt. Time roll faster, please...

Tilt to Live: Gauntlet Revenge. Even though I was a tester and played this a lot, this game is incredible. My favorite maze game ever. Its as though as tempered steel and tons of fun, plus made by people who loves making games without IAP. Cant wait to buy it and play against the world.

Puzzle to the Center of the Earth... another one I tested, been hooked to it for a month now. I love it. I thought GameCenter was in since it was on beta but oh well... crap. I want to see the new lightning effects and the additions they made in 1.0.1 Be ready to lose a lot of time into this one. Even without GameCenter... xD

Retry I want to try and retry again...

I just see "Retry Again" and "Retry 2048" when I search for it in the App Store. I'm in the UK.

Same here, I searched Retry and couldn't find it, so I searched Rovio and was at the bottom of that list. If you dont find it with the name, search for the developer (same as you would search for everything)

Slightly off topic, but have the issues with the latest version of iOS been resolved? I am on a 5s and had heard there were major slowdown issues and battery problems

oh thats cool. reckless racing 2 been updated for iphone 6/6+ resolutions.

Very few new games support the new iphones, its really cool to see a dev do that even when the numbered sequel just came out.

Ghost Blade's camera seems better than Ninja Gaiden's, lol. I'm very interested to see more impressions on the game.

Damn. Splot looks fantastic!

And while I was slightly disappointed with Tilt to Live 2, Gauntlet's Revenge looks sweet too.

Space is going to severely limit my picks tonight though. Wish more of this week's releases were coming to Android. Only Miika that I know of will be released in a day or two.

Seems like those GOTY lists are going to keep changing. Lots of great stuff still hitting the store.

I'm definitely curious to hear how Banner Saga and KOTOR run on the Air 2. Mine won't get here until Friday looks like (even though it's only going from California to Oregon).

So I'm going to be picking up the iPad Air 2 this week. I decided it was time to upgrade from the iPad 2. It's been years since I've looked at iPad cases, so I'm curious for people that have an Air or already have an Air 2 case picked out, what are some good suggestions? The biggest problem I had with previous cases for my ipad 2 was they really got in the way and a bit annoying during a long gaming session. So any suggestions for Air 2 cases that do well with long gaming suggestions are much appreciated!

I apologize if there is another thread for this. If so, do you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Oh and on tonight's releases, Puzzle to the Center of the Earth looks awesome. I can't wait to play it tonight.

I think Splot looks incredibly generic and boring. I'll be passing that.

Only Ghost Blade and Puzzle to the Center of the Earth for me this week.

After watching the Splot video, looks fun but not as good as what I would have expected for a 7-year project by the devs of Trine. But I'll be open to hearing what others have to say after playing it.

I'd also like to play Republique's new chapter. Actually, didn't finish chapter 2 either for the same reason I have to wait on "someday": space. I think it was like 2.7 GB if I recall just for the first two. I can only imagine the size with all three chapters.

Puzzle to the Center of the Earth is really fun. At first, I wasn't happy about the whole energy system. But I actually look at it as a gameplay mechanic to make it more challenging --- requiring more planning to get more energy as you move ahead and not wasting moves.

Is AppShopper going to optimize their app for iPhone 6 / 6 Plus? It looks like crap on my 6 Plus.

They still haven't released a native iPad version, correct?

Is there a better alternative?

Not sure how it looks on 6/6+, but have you tried AppZapp?

Shadowrun Returns down to $2.99.

Is it any good on iPad?

Playing it my iPad (3rd gen) right now actually and it's a tight little game, imo. No grinding for XP but you do get Karma after completing quests that can immediately be applied to unlocking skills or buffing stats. I only play during my commute which is an hour each way and I can usually move through a bit of the story as well as complete two or so encounters before I need to close up shop. Moves at a good pace and scratches that turn-based combat itch, esp. for the money.

I'm getting my first iPad next week (iPad Mini 2). Does anyone have recommendations for free/cheap iPad games that aren't too heavy on the battery? I've been playing Puzzle & Dragons for about year and a half on my iPhone, if that helps.

Edit: I don't like games with virtual joystick/d-pad/buttons.

Anyone else noticed that since iTunes 12 was rolled out, when you click on the Update Apps tab, no actual update notes appear for what they've updated in the app?

Puzzle To The Center of the Earth is deep...literally. Each of the game's 90+ levels take you another layer underground, into more diverse and dangerous territory. It's a Match 3 game unlike any I've played before, polished with the charm and quality we've come to expect from Foursaken.

Puzzle to The Center of the Earth is literally a puzzle platformer. The Match 3 element isn't a side aspect or some way to craft items or attack enemies. It is the game, the environment; it is your mining tool. Each subterranean level is made up of blocks; by matching blocks of the same color, you carve out your paths through the environments, as you travel downward to the next stage. Destroying certain blocks give you gold or energy; energy allows you to break blocks, thus adding an element of risk vs reward to the exploration and platforming. Do you look for the hidden chests and levers and other secrets, at the expanse of using more energy? Puzzle to the Center of The Earth challenges you to be methodical, to plan out your matching and converse your energy and make the most optimal routes.

Your skill set isn't limited to merely matching. Matches of six or more blocks reward you with crystals that power special abilities (for example, match blue + red + green to cause an block-clearing explosion) and gear such as bombs, armor, and air tanks add more options and help you deal with enemies and traps along the way

Puzzle to The Center of the Earth is a fun unique blend of platformer and Match 3, and yet another successful genre-mixing experience from Foursaken. The game is free-to-play, but it's fair and there's an IAP to remove the lives count.

I have an iPad 3, which is chugging along at this point. So yeah, I am DEFINITELY upgrading.

I left click on the icon and click a link that takes me to the AppStore page of the game and see the patch notes there. Did reinstall iTunes but didnt fix it.

Puzzle To The Center of the Earth...

Couldnt explain it any better myself.
