When you say White, Gold and Silver, do you mean Space Grey for silver? There's no black model full stop. White borders aren't distracting, but if you want black, get Space Grey. It's what I've got and it's lovely.

I mean a white front with either a silver or gold back (I dont know why but where I live no ones sells or will sell the front black model with space grey...). I need to know if they distract during gaming (I dont watch movies or series, just gaming, some safari, WhatsApp and thats about it).

I have a really important question I need solved quickly... please help. I am offered the iPhone 6 in white (no black here), gold or silver. I always had a black model and I worry about the white borders on the 6, are they too distracting? Can any gamer with a white iPhone tell me more about this "panda" effect I am reading about?
I've been a White/Silver user since the 3GS, it's fine. It was initially jarring but like everything you get used to it super quick. Plus the 6 looks best as silver. The antenna lines are the least pronounced on that model. Stay the hell away from Gold, it looks incredibly cheesy on the 6.

Tunesmith, you see about the Quadropus Rampage update?

Yep. I'm not sure I'll return to that game though, as fond as I am of it, I played it to death and feel I'm done. :)

I didnt even know they sold the 3GS in other than black. Where I live always arrives one color, until the 6th, always black, now white for some reason (no Apple store since I live in a tax free island and somehow that bothers them, wont even send by mail). I am leaning toward silver too. Gold doesn't look bad either, but I fear its more for girls... decisions decisions... urrgg...

Buy both and whichever you don't like, I'll send a postage paid parcel for you to mail it to me.

Seriously the Gold looks cheap, more champagne in color this time around than the Gold on the 5S. But no one gets gold other than douches (no offense to any douches in this thread with a gold iPhone :p ).

If Apple ever makes their "Space Grey" all black again, I might go back to that but otherwise I'll be sticking to my white or Silver as they like to call them these days.

It's pretty nice ui wise. The lack of real nba stars does hurt the appeal though.

Thanks. We consciously made the choice to not go with any licensing from the outset so we could establish a new franchise. If successful, we may look to layer licenses on top.

If you wanted something similar to WWE Supercard but with NBA players, then the My NBA 2k15 game is exactly that. We were kind of disappointed to see that appear just weeks before our release, but we'll see where we end up relative to it.

Also the game lacks any sort of restart previous game after a crash is really unfortunate. Had the game crash twice on me during power plays. Losing those energy due to crash, not good D:

Sorry about that. We did have a problem with exactly that which was (mostly?) solved with a remote server fix for what would have been late evening US time yesterday. Hopefully if you restart the game while online you should get that new configuration and not have the same problem.

I've been looking at Shadowrun Returns and Banner Saga as my next game to play on the mini. Which one would you guys recommend if I could only play one? I'll probably end up getting both at some point but my gaming time is pretty limited these days.

Puzzle to the Center of the Earth is good, but I really wish it had foregone the level setup, as level-based games just make me think of Angry Birds, and I really hate the "gotta get 3* compulsion" associated with it. I don't like the movement either. Just not for me. I really liked Foresaken's first few efforts, and I appreciate their business model and work ethic, but I just wish their games clicked better with me.

I haven't played either yet but, since you plan to eventually get both, Shadowrun Returns is the easy choice here on the basis that it's on sale for $3 right now while Banner Saga is $10.

They just announced this, by the way:

Many of you guessed this would be our next game, and we're finally ready to announce that yes, Heroes and Castles 2 is finally coming!

For those new to the series, the original Heroes and Castles was a blend of 3rd person action-RPG, castle defense, and strategy elements. Players would fight in the middle of huge, strategic battles - defending their castle walls - while summoning an army to fight beside them. Basically, we really wanted to try to get the feeling of large, Lord of the Rings style battles that you were fighting right in the middle of!

The most obvious thing you may notice in H&C2 is that the graphics have gotten a complete overhaul... we're now using dynamic, physically accurate lighting, with a ton of advanced shader stuff like glancing angle reflections, fresnel lighting, super detailed & gritty textures, full shadows on everything, and lots more. Best of all is that all of that good stuff will be running on iPhone5 and up.

We'll be releasing more details as time goes on, but until then check out these first screens and the feature list!

FEATURES
- participate in the middle of massive, strategic battles
- summon huge armies to fight beside you
- in depth combat with blocking, dashing, heavy attacks, dual wield, 2 handed weapons, and more
- fully customizable heroes
- hundreds of weapons, armor, and shields to equip your heroes with
- 3 discipline/skill tree paths per race, with tons of abilities to upgrade
- huge scope; conquer an entire map across dozens of lands, defend your castle, build outposts, and siege enemy fortifications and castles
- seamless, immersive gameplay
- fight across different times of day and night and in randomized weather
- tons of unique allies and enemies with different attack patterns, behaviors, and counters
- and LOTS more!

Ok, you guy's ready? You know what I'm going to say, right? All together now...

I didn't know QbQbQb was coming to IOS!

*proceeds to take shot*

I see one of my favorite titles from Forsaken Media is getting quite the graphics bump in the sequel. It may not look like much, but it drives 100+ units on screen at once, and runs at a very smooth framerate with no drops, even the original still looks pretty fine in motion to me (for what it runs on anyway).

Damn that looks nice...I can't wait to completely suck at it as much as I did the first one

Wanted to follow up on A Few Days Left.

In short, I'd hold off for now.

Played the first chapter and a bit of the second chapter and it's got LOTS of potential. But poor controls really are killing the enjoyment for me.

For a dual stick shooter, the "shooter" stick is really bad IMO. Not as responsive as it needs to be and due to placement of other buttons, way too small of a circular control.

The other controls try to use kind of "fly out" windows to swipe out and select what you want but, again, sound better on paper than in practice.

There's some great ideas that add depth to the usual DSS. Things like being able to call in drones to help. The graphics are nice and the story even seems to get interesring starting with the second chapter. The platform and puzzle elements also a nice addition to just shooting zombies and bosses.

I think adding to the frustration of the controls are the scarcity of ammo and long reloading times. There's a meele attack but it doesn't help much when you are swarmed with enemies. The whole lack of resources kind of gives it a difficulty that reminds me of Resident Evil. But combined with the controls, it just hurts the experience.

As far as currency and IAPs, I don't think that's too bad. You earn a decent amount for upgrades and weapons. Strangely, health and shield packs are WAY overpriced, but it appears that those are replenished at the end of each chapter so probably not necessary.

It could be a great game but fighting with the controls makes me not able to give it a recommendation. Even options like "automatic shooting" seem to be useless.

I hope the dev makes some changes. Again, lots of potential squandered.

How's the region stuff work on iOS? I just got an ipad air 2 and I want to go to the Japanese store and buy Chaos Rings III. How do I do this?

If I need to make a JPN account, log in, buy the game, download the game, then will I not be able to access any of the other apps on my ipad because they're tied to my US account? And vice-versa if I'm on my US account, will I not be able to play the Chaos Rings III icon that I downloaded on my JP account?

You can have as many different regional Apple IDs associated with one iDevice as you want. You can play any games installed on your device with any Apple ID and you don't need to log into a specific ID to update the apps, as long as the apps are available on the store of the ID you are logged into.

Example: My primary ID is UK, but I also have a US account which I've got a fair few games purchased on and downloaded. Once I've logged into my US ID once on my device, those apps can be updated via the UK store seamlessly. Any apps that are only available in the US store though, will not show updates available unless I log into the US ID in the store. It's really simple to swap between IDs for this though. iCloud and so forth applies to all apps installed on the device, they don't have to be purchased with that Apple ID.

Qbqbqb, I spoke to the developer and he is rather busy with a lot of projects, but if the game has success he will add GameCenter. Nice. I will help that.

Yeah the more I looked at the gold the less I liked it, but something, I dont know how to call it, happened.... for some reason I called another shop than my regular one, on another town, far away, and they had the black model and almost 100€ cheaper... never going back to that one again... so tomorrow morning, (I will wake up earlier than usual xD) I will have my shiny black front and space grey iPhone 6. :D

Buy both and whichever you don't like, I'll send a postage paid parcel for you to mail it to me.

xD

I had gotten a white iPad 4 and I found the border incredibly distracting, especially in the dark. Another problem was that the screen had a slight black edge all around it, which contrasted with the white bezel. That may not be the case with newer devices.

It used to mess up auto updates but is that ok now?

As for white vs black, I think black shows off the laminated display better because it masks the screen edges. The White iPad at least has a noticeable black edge between the bezel and the actual display

I've never had any issues with updates from multiple IDs in one store (outside of aforementioned region-exclusive apps that need separate login). I don't use the auto-download updates feature as to not drain battery needlessly and avoid any "Feature Removal"-updates where I can.

Was someone asking about Super Glyph Quest earlier? I decided to check it out after reading some impressions and I'm pretty impressed.

The short version: it's akin to the Battleheart Legacy of Match-3 RPGs

The long version? I had never played the first Glyph Quest; in fact I had never heard of the game till today. Match 3 games can be hit or miss for me, but the positive impressions and premium price convinced me to get the game a shot.

Having played the first few quests, I can say that Super Glyph Quest is a charming witty RPG that imbues a surprising and impressive amount of depth and variety into its Match 3 gameplay. A glance at the Bestiary and Spell screens give a very good idea at how the deep the game is

And those are only a fraction of the enemies you face and spells you can discover. Not only that, the class you choose at the start changes the glyphs you can use, adding more variety.

Like Battleheart: Legacy, you have a map to travel, with towns and points of interest and stores. Loot to collect, gear to buy and equip, skills and perks to unlock, experience to earn and levels to rank up, materials to craft with, and a variety of spells to cast

The majority of your time with Super Glyph Quest is spent in combat, against single or sometimes multiple enemies. Some are resistant or weak to certain elements, while others can affect you with certain status effects (stunned, bleeding, etc.) The actual matching-based combat has numerous strategic layers. Combos of elements chains and reversals (each element has an opposite tile, i.e. Light and Dark) provide damage bonus and larger chains perform more powerful and different spells.

Along with all that, Super Glyph Quest charms with colorful presentation and witty text in dialogue and descriptions. And after coming from Adventure Xpress and some other Match-3 games, it was nice to play a premium game without any F2P trappings.

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by Super Glyph Quest's deep Match-3 mechanics, RPG elements, and overall polish. Definitely worth checking out IMO

I bought both the same day about a week or so ago but have only touched Shadowrun Returns as I wanted to focus on one at a time. SR is fun and plays at a fast clip as there is not real grinding for XP here, just points you get from completing quests/missions that can be immediately spent on skill upgrades. Don't know how long the game is in total, but I've been playing nearly every day on my commute to and from work for about a week now and still haven't hit the end. Great buy, imo.

I bought it sight unseen as soon as it was in the store, but that's because the first one is one of my favorites of this year. In the first game, they start you out only being able to link a few glyphs per turn. Later on, when you can do longer chains, it gets deeper. For example, if you did water-earth-water-earth, you do a mudslide attack. Or I think water-dark-water-dark was a poison attack... you know, like an evil/dark liquid. Different enemies have various weaknesses, so it's good to learn all that you can pull off.

I downloaded Zen Pinball and picked up the South Park table. I don't have any useful impressions because I'm dangerously shit at pinball, it does look lovely though. So crisp and colourful.

I started 'Puzzle to the center of the earth' yesterday and oh boy, was it a very good time. The idea of mixing match-3 with some vaguely Spelunkeresque gameplay is fucking great, the music is calming and taking your time exploring the level how you want to while listening to the music was... well yesterday it was perfect for me, don't want to pass a judgment with just one play session. Really like how the game can be unforgivable if you play mindlessly and become totally doable if you think before doing things. Yeah said like that it looks like videogame design 101 but it felt like the game had a nice learning curve.
The best compliment I can write is that when I played like a fool and saw that you have a fucking long timer to get lives back, then saw the 5$ iap to unlock unlimited lives I wasn't in a hurry to pay. Then I played some more, thought before acting, and all the time I couldn't think about anything but 'I have to pay for this somehow'.

On another note I played some hours of 'Adventure Xpress' and on the contrary it did absolutely nothing for me. Cute art, boring gameplay. And you can see the difficulty bump coming a mile away. The grind for money looks strong in this one.

The idea of re-rolling is beginning to actively make me not want to even download some games. I was interested in Terra Battle and Monster Strike, but whenever I read about the need to re-roll at the start I just... roll my eyes.

I know it isn't exactly necessary, but I can't shake the feeling I'm missing something important if I ignore it (and let's be real, you are missing something if you don't re-roll until you get a high tier drop). I obsessed about that with P&D and that was enough.

I finally have my new iPhone 6. Space Grey. Still installing iOS 8.1 and restoring etc... but I like the new size of the screen, its bigger but not huge and I still reach all the places without stretching my thumb, also feels very comfortable and has a nice grip. I bought the black leather case at least for the first couple of weeks then I am removing it, looks much more nicer without it -never had a case before, I can say that I never dropped any iPhone-. The camera has a big upgrade and I am already in love with TouchID. 646€ well spent. Better change than when I switched from the 4 to the 5. This one actually feels different. Now into gaming :D

QbQbQb is great, I recommend this rotating "Tetris" puzzler, remind me of 3D Tetris. Wonderful presentation and sound. This will probably be a mainstay on my iPhone from now on. If I have one gripe it's the learning curve, takes a while to get a feel for how sensitive you want the touch settings to be to get really into the flow of it all. Also seems to make the iPhone 6 run a bit hot in hi-fi mode.

No Game Center leaderboards yet unfortunately.

Why iOS keeps getting better and better every week? Almost every week improves upon the last one. Skullduggery, Splot, Puzzle to the Center of the Earth, Lion Pig and so on. Last few weeks have been in crescendo and I haven't even purchased the three I have my eye on (maybe more). And new great looking games keep showing up everyday. I even haven't played much from the ones I bought recently either. I cannot keep up xD. And next week Woah Dave is coming out, along with a Vertex and who knows what else. Why iOS keeps getting better and better every week? :D

Hmm, I dunno. Last few weeks were pretty week to me. Not that there's a trend or anything. I'm sure we'll see lot of great stuff soon.

Speaking of Puzzle to the Center of Earth, it's doing nothing for me, sadly. Which is funny because Foursaken Media stuff usually clicks with me. Maybe I should play some more, but I'm not seeing the appeal so far.

Fuck, another japanese game down on ios 8 ? I begin to lack polite words to articulate. Post release support is a really alien concept to some people it seems.

Please understand.

Anyway, have been busting out loads of old classics since getting this 64g iPad - want to make special mention of a game I doubt most of you have played called Forget.Me.Not. It's basically pac man crossed with a roguelike set in a bleepy bloopy neon hell of mazes filled with a variety of enemies. I've recently become re-addicted to it, it's one of those games that's very simple but also has some complex underlying mechanics and I find I'm enjoying it more than most new "arcade" games I see on iOS.

Also, Gridrunner might be the best shooter ever.
