Yes

Oh, cool!. I thought that was the weirdest thing in Black flag, not being able to sneak around.

The parity problems irked me and turned me off about this game since it exploded. Yet, the last game in the series I played was Assassin's Creed 2, which I loved at the time. This one seems like an evolution I always wanted for the franchise, so I am ready to cave in again.

The only thing that really worries right now about this game is the performance. Sub 30 fps at the start of the generation is a worrying trend for the franchise. Who knows how the next games in the series will perform in a year or two.

I agree, get out with that shit.

Unity threads have been nothing but fucked up because of all these 1080p and no female playable character drive-by posts of people not even interested in the game.
Oh I was interested, have bought every one of the creed games and some on pc and console. But this shit they pulled Is unacceptable, and I am glad people are letting it be known in every thread.

The amount of shit this company pulls that people just keep putting up with is amazing.

Loved Black Flag, but cancelled my pre-order for now due to lack of funds :( Going to wait until Xmas holidays before i get it.

It looks lovely, but I am not sure some of the things they are trying to sell as "New features" - like the treasure hunt, just go and find the boxes again but with a different name?

We shall see, I am starting to believe Ubisoft might have lost their way a bit on the AC games, especially if i see bloody follow and eavesdrop missions :(

/ ....yes i know i always complain about them, but as a designer it really annoys me...

No, it's common knowledge on this forum now. We all agree that it sucks, but it's really not needed in threads not pertaining to it. There are huge threads already devoted to the topic, everywhere else it's just flat-out trolling.

Debates and stuff aside, I gotta say this is the most appealing trailer yet. Really looks more like an open-world game than previous AC games.

We already know. There's no need to keep reminding people of shit they already now. Let people enjoy the new footage and info instead of "hey gais remember this bad news?!" Even the last trailer thread started off with bish preemptively saying not to do those things.

There's a reason I'm the last crusader.
I will definitely buy this game because of all the amazing footage and even these side activities, but I will be buying preowned.

There's this new system included in the game, at the press of a button you can get a quick view of all the side activities in the area while on rooftops. So turning off the minimap and the like is a viable option.

That's really nice. I played all of AC4 without the minimap on.

Looks amazing, as usual. Will still wait on reviews and impressions though - am curious whether the gameplay will be as smooth as they present it in these videos.

That must have been rough. There weren't nearly enough navigation markers to use when sailing, no way to tell if you were in off-limits waters until you were in them, no way to find where to meet contacts in the open world to start missions, and bell-diving must've have been a pain.

I tried, but the game just isn't made for a disabled minimap.

If you have the companion app than playing with that plus no HUD >>>>>> IMO
Anyway AC games are always GOTY contenders for me and I'm hyped as ever for this one. I just hope that we have a rock solid 30fps.

While it looks amazing the setting looks so boring as hell, yet again another period city just like AC2, etc.

Black Flag had the sea and islands and shit like that to change things up, but this not so much, oh you mean you have catacombs?......just like AC2 you mean?

They need to change things up drastically, like set it in the Future like in 3518 in some abandoned futuristic cities or something.

:)

Probably will get it anyways, when is cheap.

After the Ezio Trilogy the first AC Game, that makes me excited.

I dont care about all those negative comments. This Game brings AC finally back to its roots.
Big crowded cities with monumental Buildings - You have my Pre Order Ubi

I hope the city will have shops where you can change the color of your assassins costum

AC 2 was the best game of the franchise so far, and those period cities are the charm of those games (atleast the first entries)
So going back to the roots is definetly the right step

There is AC Rogue if you want more ships

Every Assassin's Creed game is better with the mini map turned off. Ubisoft's obsession with icons and way points is disgusting. Hopefully, they built a world worth exploring without the NEED for a crutch of a mini map.

This is what turned me off far cry 3 and just ubi games in general. Everything is so cluttered. It's just overwhelming and makes me lose interest because at the same time it's all just bland and uninteresting shit anyways too like find a feather or pick a flower.

I suspect there'd be a good co-relation between the people who agree with this and the people who think the modern day stuff is stupid and wish they'd just do a straight historical game. I don't mind the map or icons, it goes part and parcel with the whole Animus virtual reality simulation thing.

Uhmmmmm.......yes please? Katana? HELL. YES. Now that there's full customization I can finally make Snake Eyes!
yes, the one from GI JOE! :p

Dude, like others have said, enough is enough with the driveby shitposting, especially from you, you do it in nearly every single AC Unity/Ubisoft thread. Now on topic, what do I have to do to unlock the katana?!!
nr6SaWq.png

Woah! There's a Katana in Unity?????

My dreams of being a French Assassin in the French Revolution with a katana...THEY'VE COME TRUE!

When purchasing the game I will devote my first couple hours solely for this KATANA!

It was talking about unique rewards, so I imagine its a special mission to get it. That mission will be first on my list haha.

Looking at that image, am I taking it correctly to assume that "hack upgrade" means unlocking it via real money / microtransactions? Or is that gameplay related?

I think those are the abstergo credits or whatever they are called in this game...you get them in game I believe

Man this game is looking really good. There's so much Assassin's Creed negativity these days but aside from 3 this series continues to be absolutely my favorite series of games. I really like that Unity looks to be moving back to leaving it up to you to figure out how to complete objectives and missions and not forcing you into linear sequences. Really hope they deliver on that promise because I really enjoyed that about older Assassin's Creed games.

I was just reading this negative preview :/ :

http://www.noobfeed.com/previews/306/facts-2014-assassin-s-creed-unity-hands-on

Basically they say that the XboxOne version is borderline unplayable, frame rate is so low (20fps) when there is some action on screen that gameplay is ruined.
I really hope that UBisoft can fix the situation, maybe 900p is the right compromise on the PS4 to get a stable frame rate which in this situation would be better than having 1080p at the same 20-ish frame rate seen here in the preview version.

Btw the trailer in OP looks fantastic.

I can confirm all of this, I've played an XB1 build of the game yesterday at the Milan Games Week

- Awful framerate: it probably dips below 20fps very often, It looked it was always way below 30fps
- Awful image quality: aliasing and some weird edge artifacts around arno and some scenery
-Not sure if 900p: looked even lower like 720p(I had played Bayonetta 2 few minutes before)
- Bugs: I once got stuck in a pinnacle over notre dame, had problems to draw the sword and other small things(time played: less than 10 minutes)

The game looked fantastic seen from 4-5 meters at least though.

It was a disaster, I don't know how old was the build, I hope it had some months at least. I have no idea why Ubisoft think show that mess to the public, why not use a more recent build?

I haven't seen the console or devkit but the pad was the xb1 one.

I think that other italians who were there can easily confirm my experience with the game

Sounds awful. It's a shame that some of these companies care more about sticking to their yearly release schedule than putting out a quality product. If the final game is in this type of shape, then I won't pay full price for it.

Ubi should of took a page from EA's book and delayed it a few months like Battlefield: Hardline if the performance is truly this horrid.

it would be umplayable.

I really hope it was an old build. Why it has been shown to this date? No idea.
