Beautiful COLORFUL games.

This picture right here. These kids aren't smiling because of some 144Hz G-Sync SSAO 4xTXAA tessellation high Anisotropic Filtering whoosit or whatnot. These kids are smiling because they're probably looking at some grade A fun looking shit. You know what's fun? Colors. Colors are hella fun. It's unfortunate that we've been showered with piss filters, drab grays and doodey browns for so long. It makes me want to appreciate colorful games. So let's do just that. Let's talk about games that aren't depressing. Games whose color palates extend beyond what you'd find in a typical unflushed toilet.

Most importantly, let's post screenshots. I fucking love screenshots.

The entire Ratchet and Clank series. Definition of fun right there.

Insomniac is good at this game. Everything they produce just bleeds colour and style, and screams fun.

Came to say this. Fantastic color design in those games.

I must admit I find it kind of funny that you then to go on to post high resolution emulator screenshots of games :p

I submit Flower and Journey. While they don't throw every colour at you at once, they use colour schemes to convey meaning very effectively.

Chrono Cross is one of the most colorful RPGs I've played. Someone in the art department went all out in this game.

I actually love going from the PAUSE screen (which changes the picture to black and white) to the main game and see it BURST into colour. IOW, Good pick!

Wii U thread obvs. But choosing one game from there, it must be Super Mario 3D World:

(Edit: Beaten but leaving the pics because oh so pretty colors)

And one of my faves:

This just makes me super duper excited for Captain Toad Tresure Tracker as it seems is going to be as colorful and eye pleasant as SM3DW.

Eventually next gen Ratchet footage...
Fuck yes, I know that feel.

I'm buying a PS4 just for R&C Redux. I made the move from PS3 to PC but there's no way in hell I'm leaving my favourite series behind.

Bought every single one starting from when I was a kid. Not stopping now. Those games give me fun no other game has come close to giving me.

Next gen R&C, my body is ready for you.

people love colors so much, just look at those kids buying WiiU like hot cakes, because the colors are so much fun.

Driving sims seem to be rather good at this without too exaggerated saturations.

edit: jokes on you OP, those F-Zero screens would look like total ass without Anisotropic Filtering. It's like people love to hate the art in these games.

Nintendo is the obvious choice, with Sunset Overdrive probably being the most well-known current one. If you wanna go back into the past, you should definitely check out Jak and Daxter (the first one).
